Abstract

The coaching process at the Special Development Institution for Children actually aims to rebuild their character and behaviour to be in line with positive social values. However, behind this hope, it is still common to find fostered children who show low prosocial behaviour such as lack of concern, empathy, and desire to help others. This study uses the R&D (research and development) research method which is useful in developing a learning model in the form of a group guidance programme with a peer group approach for foster children. This study uses a qualitative approach method to explore and understand the meaning related to social problems that occur in groups of children. Based on the results of the research there are five children out of forty children who have low prosocial behaviour in LPKA Pekanbaru. They come from a family background that has complex problems and a poor social environment. The development of the peer group guidance model was carried out by providing intervention to them with a series of activities that had been arranged in several sessions so that the percentage level of prosocial behaviour from the pre-test results which was originally an average of 66.8% to 90% which means that the intervention provides a significant increase in children's prosocial behaviour by 23.2%. Peer group counselling provides opportunities for children to learn through observation and direct experience within the group. In addition to behavioural changes, the group guidance also had an impact on children's attitudes towards others. It is concluded that the peer group guidance model to build the prosocial behaviour of assisted children meets the criteria and is effective so it is feasible to use. The developed model can be used by counsellors to build the prosocial behaviour of foster children through the implementation of group guidance with a peer approach. Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of social guidance for drug clients using a community development approach in Manggul Village, Lahat. Given the high rate of drug abuse in the community, this approach is expected to create an environment that supports the process of rehabilitation and social reintegration for clients. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis related to the social guidance program that has been implemented. This study also found that collaboration between the community and community leaders is critical in creating a sustainable program. With strong support from various parties, this program reduces the stigma against drug users and provides better access for clients to get the help they need. In addition, more systematic monitoring and evaluation need to be carried out to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the program. Through the development and implementation of the right strategy, it is hoped that this program can have a greater impact in overcoming the problem of drug abuse in Manggul Village and become a model for other areas. The results of the study indicated that the community development approach has succeeded in increasing public awareness of the dangers of narcotics and the importance of support for clients. In addition, social guidance carried out through group therapy and individual counseling has proven effective in helping clients overcome personal and emotional problems related to drug abuse. Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of the therapeutic alliance in counseling for juvenile offenders involved in sexual violence at Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Class II Sungai Raya. The focus of this research is to understand how the therapeutic alliance can encourage openness among juvenile offenders, identify psychological barriers affecting their engagement in counseling, and assess its impact on the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations with four juvenile offenders and counselors involved in the counseling program at LPKA. The results show that a strong therapeutic alliance, built through emotional bonding, goal agreement, and collaboration in counseling tasks, plays a significant role in increasing the engagement of juvenile offenders in the counseling process. However, barriers such as feelings of shame, fear of judgment, and the limited number of counselors affect the quality of counseling. Keywords: Therapeutic Alliance; Counseling; Rehabilitation

Abstract

Abstract

Policies in the economic and development sector still place men as the main actors, women only as “task assistants” in economic activities. The women of Liang Bunyu village in West Sebatik District make Seaweed farming a source of household income and become a leading commodity in village economic development. The women in the village bind seaweed farming for the nursery. A job that men are reluctant to do, but the most important part of the production process. This paper discussed how Sebatik women play a crucial role in making seaweed cultivation a household business. It will be an essential input for the local government policy of developing a household business driven by housewives. The research method used was a qualitative description with an ethnographic approach to make participant observations and in-depth interviews are accurate in collecting data and field findings. The research found that Sebatik women had the prospect to be an entrepreneur. It's just that Sebatik's economic development does not necessarily increase women's empowerment. Not many Sebatik women farmers think about selling seaweed as a processed product, which is more economically valuable and profitable. Education and community culture were the main causes, even though kinship and ethnic networks could function as economic capital. Sebatik woman farmers need government support in both policy regulation and practical assistance, especially in entrepreneurial training.
