Abstract

AbstractThe aimed of this study were to determine whether there was significant difference of achievement between students who are taught through Webbed Model of Integrated Natural Science Learning and Conventional Learning and to determine the effect of Webbed Model of Integrated Natural Science Learning on the theme of Energy in Life System towards students achievement. Pretest and posttest control group design was adopted as research design. Two sample were selected randomly nine classes at seven grade of SMPN 1 Ketapang. They were VII A class as control group and VII D class as experimental group. Expermental group was taught through Webbed Model of Integrated Natural Science Learning. Meanwhile, control group was taught through Conventional Learning. According to data analysis, probability score was 0.029. It was smaller than 0.05 which meant there was a significant difference between both classes. According to calculation of Effect Size, the score of effect size was 0.5 which was categorized as medium. In conclusion, there was a significant difference of achievement between students who are taught through Webbed Model of Integrated Natural Science Learning and Conventional Learning and the effect of Webbed Model of Integrated Natural Science Learning is medium towards students achievement.Keywords: Energy, Students Achievement, Webbed Model

Abstract

AbstractSelf-confidence and learning achievement of XI MIPA students at SMAN 8 Pontianak were still unsatisfactory. This research was conducted to determine whether there was a significant difference between self-confidence of students taught using flipped classroom and conventional learning model, and whether there was a significant difference between learning achievement of students taught using flipped classroom and conventional learning model, and to determine effect size of flipped classroom learning model toward student self-confidence and learning achievement on solubility and solubility product. This research used quasi experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of XI MIPA 1 class as the control group and XI MIPA 4 class as the experimental group selected by purposive sampling technique. Learning achievement test, self-confidence questionnaire, observation sheet and interview guidelines were used to collect data. Based on final questionnaire and posttest data analysis using the Mann-Whitney U-test (? = 5%), Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) were 0.000 and 0.017 respectively. This indicated that there were a significant difference between self-confidence and learning achievement of students taught using flipped classroom and conventional learning model. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat kelayakan dan keterbacaan penilaian psikomotorik praktikum submateri Koefisien Distribusi (KD) yang dikembangkan untuk Mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan konseptual. Sampel  penelitian ini adalah 12 orang asisten Kimia Analitik II yang di bagi menjadi 2 kelompok; (1) terdiri dari 4 orang untuk uji lapangan awal; dan (2) terdiri dari 8 orang untuk uji lapangan utama. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket kelayakan produk dan angket keterbacaan asisten. Hasil analisis data angket kelayakan menunjukkan persentase rata-rata kelayakan rubrik penilaian sebesar 96,68% dengan kriteria kelayakan sangat tinggi. Hasil analisis angket keterbacaan asisten pada uji coba lapangan awal dan uji coba lapangan utama masing-masing sebesar 94,38% dan 94,06% dengan kriteria keterbacaan sangat tinggi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa rubrik penilaian psikomotorik pada praktikum submateri Koefisien Distribusi sangat layak digunakan untuk menilai keterampilan psikomotorik mahasiswa.   Kata Kunci: Rubrik Penilaian, Penilaian Psikomotorik, Koefisien Distribusi Abstract: The aims at this study was to feasibility and legibility at psychomotor assessment practicum on submateri Distribution Coefficient (DC) which was developed for students of Chemistry Education. The assessment method was research development by using development model usual in this study was conceptual model. The samples of this research were 12 Analytical Chemistry II assistants divided into two groups; (1) which consist of 4 people for early trials field; and (2) 8 people for the main field trial samples. The data collection was done by using feasibility product and legibility questionnaires assistant. The results at feasibility questionnaire data showed obtained by the average percentage feasibility assessment rubric of 96.68% with a very high feasibility criteria. The results of questionnaire analysis legibility assistants in the early field trials and major field trials respectively 94.38% and 94.06% with a very high legibility criteria. It can be concluded that the assessment rubric on practicum submateri Distribution Coefficient is very proper used to assess psychomotor skills of students.   Keywords: Rubric Assessment, Psychomotor Assessment, Distribution Coefficient

Abstract

Abstract:The purpose of this correlation study were 1) to measure students spasial-visual intelligence, 2) to measure students skill on drawing geometry of molecules and 3) to determine whether there was a significant relation between them. The subjects in this study were 65 students of Chemistry Education Program 2014/2015 FKIP UNTAN. The data in this study were collected from achievements test and spasial visual intelligence test. The results showed that the ability of students on drawing geometry of molecules were  excellent  (45,70 % ). On the other hand spatial visual intelligence of students were  good (63,24%). According to Spearman-Brown nonparametric statistics test,  there was significant a relationship between spatial visual intelligence of students and skill on drawing geometry of molecules, although their relationship was poor (0,309). Keywords: Visual-Spatial Intelligence, Skill on Drawing, Geometry of Molecules, Correlation

Abstract

 AbstractThe background of this research was low student achievment, and there were still many students who had difficulty in solving the problems of atomic structure and periodic elements system. This study was conducted to determine the errors and causes of errors made by students of tenth grade IPA of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak in solving the problems of atomic structure and elements periodic system. The method of this research was descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 37 students of class X IPA 6 SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. Essay-based test and free-guided interviews were used to collect the data. The results showed that the percentage of understanding essential concepts, understanding the relationship between concepts and understanding the use of concepts to solve problems were 76%, 22% and 2% respectively. There were several causes of students' error. Students did not understand the preresquisite concept and which concept to solve the problems. Students were also careless of reading and found so hard to concentrate which lead them to make mistakes. Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research are low result of students achievement in studying and there were still many students who have difficulty in material of simple inorganic and organic compound nomenclature. The aims of this research are to investigate  error and to determine that cause of students? errors of mechanical engineering SMK-SMTI Pontianak. The method of this research is descriptive study. As many as 28 students of XC participate on this research. Essay tests and free guides interview are used to collect the data. Based on the result, It could be known that the students? error in understanding of essential concept is lack of understanding several concepts of : element symbol, element name, element location in group, symbol and name of ion, charge or oxidation number, differentiating between elements and poliatomic ions, and name of compound. The students? error in understanding use of concepts to solve problem are : error in using concept of writing name of compound, and error in using concept of writing chemistry formula. The causes of students? error are students had difficully in remembering concept and managing time to study, forget the prerequiresite concept, and had lack of carefulness in reading and finishing the test.Keywords: Description, Error, Cause of Error, simple inorganic and organic compound nomenclature

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Serasan pada materi koloid dengan menggunkan metode praktikum berbasis Numbered Heads Together (NHT). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 orang. Setiap siklusnya terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Aktivitas siswa dikatakan meningkat apabila telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan ≥ 50% dan hasil belajar meningkat apabila mencapai indikator keberhasilan ≥ 70% setelah diterapkan metode praktikum berbasis Numbered Heads  Together (NHT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebesar 41,10% dan siklus II sebesar 61,10%. Hasil belajar pada siklus I sebesar 53% dan siklus II sebesar 90%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa metode praktikum berbasis NHT dapat dijadikan suatu alternatif dalam proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci     : Aktivitas, Hasil belajar, Metode praktikum, NHT, Koloid     Abstract: This research aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes of students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Serasan the colloidal material by using practical methods based Numbered Heads Together (NHT). This research is a class act. The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet and test results of learning. This study consisted of two cycles with the number of students as many as 30 people. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Said to be increased if the student activity has achieved success indicator ≥ 50% and increased learning outcomes when achieving success indicator ≥ 70% after application of practical methods based Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The results showed an increase in the activities and student learning outcomes. Activity of students in the first cycle of 41.10% and 61.10% for the second cycle. Results of study on the first cycle by 53% and the second cycle by 90%. Based on the research that the lab-based methods can be used as an alternative NHT in the learning process. Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to determine the level of feasibility and response of students to the integrated instrument component media of chemical bonding. The research method used was research and development (R&D) which adopt Borg & Gall development model. The subjects of this research was integrated instrument component media of chemical bonding which tested on the students of SMA Negeri 1 Sajad, SMA Negeri 1 Sambas, and SMA Negeri 1 Tebas. It was conducted initial field trials and main field trials of product users. The instruments used in this research was questionnaire. Based on research result, it can be concluded that the integrated instrument component media of chemical bonding is very feasible. It could be used in classroom to teach chemical bonding. According to expert, the percentage average score of graph, linguistic, and material judgement was 88,33% while student response to used this media was 81,39%.Keywords: Integrated Instrument Component Media, Chemical Bonding, Borg & Gall

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran Chemistry Board (ChemBo) yang layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran IPA pada materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Terdapat tujuh tahap dalam model pengembangan ini yaitu penelitian pendahuluan, melakukan perencanaan, mendesain produk awal, uji coba lapangan awal, revisi produk awal, uji coba lapangan utama dan revisi produk akhir. Penilaian kelayakan ditinjau dari segi kegrafikan, kebahasaan dan materi. Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Pontianak dengan peringkat sekolah tinggi, sedang dan rendah untuk dilakukan uji coba lapangan terhadap respon pengguna produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kelayakan dan tingkat  respon pengguna berturut-turut sebesar 85,60% dan 87,9%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Chemistry Board (ChemBo) sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA-kimia materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Abstract: The aim of this study was to produce a learning media called ChemBo (Chemistry Board) which is fit to be used in learning process especially in addictive and psychotropic substances of science learning material. The method of this research is Reasearch and Development (R&D). There are seven steps in this method, which are research and collecting information, planning, developing initial form of product, preliminary field testing, preliminary product revision, and the last is final field testing and final product revision. A feasibility assessment in terms of graphic side, linguistic and material. Research?s subjects were junior high school students in Pontianak with the high, moderate and low school?s ranked for conducted field trials on the product. The study results showed that the level of feasibility and level of user respectively were 85.6% and 87.9%. Based on the result, media ChemBo (Chemistry Board) was really appropriate used in addictive and psychotropic substances of science learning material. Abstract

AbstrackThis background of this study were unsatisfying achievement and lack of motivation. The purpose of this study were 1) to determine whether there was a significant  difference of achievement and students? motivation, also to know how big the influence of giving Positive  feedback toward the motivation between student taught using positive feedback, and 2) to determine the effect size of positive feedback toward students? achievement and motivationand of Chemistry  student grade eleventh SMA Panca Bhakti Pontianak in subject ?Solubility and Solubility Product?. Nonequivalent Control Group Design was applied as of research design.  Tools for collecting data used was a test of achievement, questionnaire, interview guidelines, and observation sheet. According to data analysis using spss, probability values were 0.000 and 0.000. which meant if there were significant differences of students? achievement and motivation respectively between experimental and control classes. The Effect Sizes of learning with positive feedback toward students achievement and motivation were 1,1 and 1,2 respectively. These calculation indicated that learning with positive feedback had high effect on students? achievement and motivation.  Keywords:  Positive Feedback, Learning motivation, Learning result, Solubility and solubility product constant
