Abstract

The aim of this study were to evaluate the effect of tannin concentration in protein protection ofsoybean meal and its influence on the change of body composition with urea space method (estimation)and cutting (direct). Sixteen male thin tail rams of eight month old with an average body weight of 11.81±1.65kg were used in this study. Treatment Groups of different tannin level were allotted according to a completelyrandomized design with four replicates for each treatment. The treatmen groups were T0 (complete feed +soybean meal not protected), T1 (complete feed + tannins protected soybean meal 0.5%), T2 (complete feed+ tannins protected soybean meal 1%), and T3 (complete feed + tannins protected soybean meal 1.5%).The treatment was performed in 10 weeks. However, In the week 0, fifth and tenth the rams body compositionwere measured with urea space technique. Result of the study showed that the feeding protected proteinwith different tannin levels did not significantly influence (P> 0.05) body composition of the samples. Theaverage content of body composition measured with the urea space method for body water, body proteinand body fat were 58.53%, 11.01%, and 20.74% respectively. Where as, the body composition measurementafter slaughtered for the body water, body protein and body fat were 3.08 kg, 0.50 kg and 0.89 kg respectively.The average increase of body protein and body fat that occurred during the 10-week study period were 0.37kg and 0.51 kg respectively. Based on these results it can be concluded that feeding protected proteincontained with tannin up to 1.5% may not be able to improve body composition of thin tail rams.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The supply DOC of super free-range chicken in Southeast Sulawesi until now still comes from outside. This causes the DOC price to be quite high due to the high cost of transportation in the distribution process. In addition, the pandemic period also made the situation more difficult to obtain DOC from outside which had an impact on the lack of supply of super free-range chicken. Therefore, it is necessary to independently procure a source of DOC for free-range chicken. This community service aims to provide a source of information and training in the use of AI technology and the use of feed based on local feed ingredients to the community through the FPT-UHO Village Development Program. This service is carried out in a group of native chicken farmers in Mokoau Village, Kambu sub-district, Kendari City by involving various components such as community leaders, youth and government officials. This activity is carried out by means of online and offline presentations and training. The results obtained in this service are in the form of DOC (according to standards), free-range chickens that have a high body weight, free-range chicken feed based on local feed resources, scientific articles and theses. Based on the results of this activity, it can be concluded that the FPT-UHO village development program is able to improve the ability of farmers to utilize AI technology and feed processing technology based on local feed ingredients. Keywords: DOC; feed; Livestock; Super free-range chicken; Technology ABSTRAK Pasokan DOC ayam kampung super di Sulawesi Tenggara hingga saat ini masih berasal dari luar. Hal ini mengakibatkan harga DOC cukup tinggi karena mahalnya biaya transportasi dalam proses ditribusinya. Selain itu masa pandemi juga menjadikan situasi lebih sulit untuk memperoleh DOC dari luar yang berdampak pada kurangnya pasokan daging ayam kampung super. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pengadaan sumber DOC ayam kampung secara mandiri. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sumber informasi dan pelatihan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi IB dan pemanfaatan pakan berbasis bahan pakan lokal kepada masyarakat melalui Program Bina Desa FPT-UHO. Pengabdian ini dilakukan di kelompok peternak ayam kampung di Kelurahan Mokoau, kecamatan Kambu, Kota Kendari dengan melibatkan berbagai komponen seperti tokoh masyarakat, pemuda dan aparat pemerintah. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan cara persentasi dan pelatihan secara daring dan luring. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam pengabdian ini berupa DOC (sesuai dengan standar), ayam kampung yang memiliki bobot badan yang tinggi, pakan ayam kampung berbasis sumber daya pakan lokal, artikel ilmiah dan skripsi. Berdasarkan hasil kegian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa program bina desa FPT-UHO mampu meningkatkan kemampuan peternak untuk memanfaatkan teknologi IB dan teknologi pengolahan pakan berbasis bahan pakan lokal. Abstract

Program swasembada Pajale adalah program pemerintah melalui Kementerian Pertanian untuk meningkatkan swasembada pangan, salah satunya adalah jagung. Hasil panen jagung yang melimpah kurang memberikan kontribusi secara ekonomi pada petani karena rendahnya harga jagung. Petani tidak memiliki keterampilan untuk mengolah jagung menjadi komoditas lain yang bernilai jual lebih tinggi. Kelebihan jagung yang tersedia di Desa Alebo Kecamatan Konda dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan komplit ayam kampung dan diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber pakan utama bagi peternak ayam kampung di Sulawei Tenggara. Target dan luaran yang ingin dicapai dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah peningkatan pendapatan petani melalui diversifikasi produk (pakan ayam kampung pellet), peningkatan nilai jual jagung, peningkatan motivasi, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan petani tentang teknologi pengolahan pakan, manajemen pemeliharaan ayam kampung, dan kesehatan ternak, serta luaran fisik berupa rumah produksi pakan, dan pakan pelet komplit pakan ayam kampong berbahan dasar jagung.

Abstract

Pengembangan sistem pakan berbasis sumberdaya lokal menjadi pilar yang mendukung perkembangan produksi peternakan di Indonesia yang berkelanjutan, efisien dan kompetitif. Hasil sisa, hasil samping dan limbah berbagai jenis tanaman merupakan sumber bahan baku pakan alternatif yang potensial. Limbah pertanian seperti jerami banyak digunakan sebagai pakan ternak tetapi belum melalui teknologi pengolahan pakan, sedangkan limbah ternak berupa feses digunakan sebagai pupuk tanpa proses pengolahan serta urin hanya dibuang. Dengan demikian diperlukan konsep integrasi pertanian dan peternakan dalam rangka pelaksanaan zero waste farming. Program bina desa ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi masyarakat tani-ternak dalam pembuatan pakan ternak dan pupuk organik cair biokultur dan biourin menggunakan feses dan urin sapi dalam mewujudkan zero waste farming sistem. Penggunaan bahan baku limbah dan bahan baku lokal yang telah diolah terlebih dahulu menggunakan teknik pengolahan memadai serta analisis kandungan nutrien pakan, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan utilitas dari limbah itu sendiri dan dapat menjadi solusi program pemanfaatan limbah dan pengembangan pakan. Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of giving turmeric (3%), garlic (5%) and zinc minerals (180 ppm) to the internal organ weight of broilers. The study used 100 DOC broilers, Strain Arbor Acres 707, divided into 5 treatments and 4 replications, each treatment consisting of 5 birds. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and further tested for orthogonal contrast. The treatment rations were R0 (finished ration or control), R1 (finished ration + 5% garlic powder + 3% turmeric powder, R2 (finished ration + 5% garlic powder + 180 ppm ZnO), R3 (finished ration + turmeric powder 3 % + ZnO 180 ppm), R4 (finished ration + 5% garlic powder + 3% turmeric powder + ZnO 180 ppm).The results showed that the administration of garlic powder, turmeric and zinc minerals did not show a significant effect (P>0,05) to the relative weight of internal organs.The R1 treatment with a combination of garlic powder (5%), turmeric powder (3%) tends to increase the percentage of heart and pancreas organ weights, while the R4 treatment with a combination of garlic powder (5%), turmeric powder (3%) and ZnO 180 ppm tend to increase the percentage of liver weight.

Abstract

Chicken slaughter had to fulfill requirements such as the slaughter done in Islamic ways and the meat processed hygienically in order to produce safe, healthy, whole, and halal. Partner farmer at Alebo, Konda Sub-district, Konawe Selatan Regency implemented a simple slaughter system with less hygienic tools and procedures that increased the risk of contamination in meat. This community partnership program aimed to increase the farmer’s information and skill in managing native chicken slaughterhouses in order to produce better carcass and fish feed from slaughter waste. The methods used in this program were physical and non-physical methods which consisted of the slaughterhouse renovation, chicken slaughter, and carcass packaging training, fish feed production using slaughter waste training, discussion, and public lecture. Results of the program show that partner farmers are able to implement Islamic and hygienic slaughter processes and use better packages for the carcass. The farmers also understand the importance of slaughter waste processing and producing fish feed as an additional product of the slaughterhouse.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang kadar kolesterol, asam urat, dan glukosa darah ayam broiler yang disuplementasi tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp) sebagai feed adittive dengan level berbeda. Materi yang digunakan sebanyak 100 ekor ayam broiler yang dipelihara mulai dari umur satu hari (DOC) sampai dengan umur 35 hari. Masing-masing ayam ditempatkan pada kandang tunggal yang setiap kandang memiliki tempat air minum dan pakan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas: R0 (pakan Pakan komersial + 0 % tepung rumput laut) R1 (Pakan komersial + 1 % tepung rumput laut), R2 (Pakan komersial + 2 % tepung rumput laut), R3 (Pakan komersial, + 3 % tepung rumput laut), R4 (Pakan komersial + 4 % tepung rumput laut). Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Suplementasi tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp) kedalam pakan dengan level yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar kolesterol dan glukosa darah ayam broiler, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar asam urat broiler pada semua perlakuan. Kadar kolesterol dan glukosa darah terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan R4 yang nyata berbeda dengan perlakuan R0, R1, R2 dan R3.

Abstract

Ampas sagu memiliki potensi yang dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pakan karena kandungan bahan organik yang tinggi. Namun, rendahnya kandungan protein dan tingginya serat kasar membatasi pemanfaatannya sehingga dilakukan pengolahan kombinasi amoniasi biofermentasi dengan mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas ampas sagu secara fisik dan kimia. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan dengan kombinasi penambahan urea dan mikroorganisme lokal dari isi rumen dengan P0: ampas sagu + 5% urea, P1: P0 + 3% MOL, P2: P0 + 4% MOL dan P3: P0 + 5% MOL. Ampas sagu diperoleh dari Desa Simbune, Kabupaten Kolaka Timur. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan penambahan amoniasi dan MOL sebanyak 3% mampu mempertahankan kualitas fisik ampas sagu dan meningkatkan kualitas kimia dengan menurunkan serat kasar.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the effect of giving a combination herbal concoctions and seaweed flour (Gracilaria sp) on carcass percentage, carcass parts and abdominal fat in broiler chickens. The material used was 100 broiler chickens kept from one day of age (DOC) to 35 days of age. Each chicken is placed in a single cage, each cage has a place for drinking water and food. The treatments in this study consisted of: P0: Commercial feed + 0% herbal ingredients + 0% seaweed flour, P1: Commercial feed + 1% herbal ingredients + 1% seaweed flour, P2: Commercial feed + 2% herbal ingredients + 2 % seaweed flour, P3: Commercial feed + 3% herbal ingredients + 3% seaweed flour. All data were analyzed using analysis of variance and different between treatments were proved using Duncan multiple range test. combination of herbal concoctions and seaweed flour (Gracilaria sp) to the feed had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the percentage of carcass parts (thighs) and abdominal fat in broilers, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage carcass, carcass parts (breast, back and wings) for all treatments. The conclusion of the research is that combination of herbal ingredients and seaweed flour can reduce abdominal fatness levels and improve the percentage of broiler carcass components.
