Abstract

Free sex behavior among adolescents is a global issue that requires serious attention in efforts to prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and unwanted pregnancies . The results of the study on the effectiveness of interventions in increasing the knowledge of abdimas participants about the topics discussed. Results showed a significant increase from 38.2% to 88.2% in the number of abdimas participants who had good knowledge after the intervention. Some of the factors contributing to this increase include interactive and structured outreach methods, as well as participant involvement in intervention activities. Social interaction and exchange of experiences are also considered to play an important role in enriching participants' understanding. Although knowledge is the first step, behavior change requires consideration of other factors such as attitudes, social norms, and the environment. The integration of these components in intervention programs can amplify the positive effects of increased knowledge.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a global health problem that affects about 1.13 billion people worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and premature death. The disease is often asymptomatic, so many individuals are unaware of their condition until serious complications occur. Therefore, a better understanding of the causes, impacts, and control strategies of hypertension is essential. Objective: The aim of this study is to understand the causes, impacts, and control strategies of hypertension in order to reduce its prevalence and improve individuals' quality of life. Methods: This literature review is conducted by collecting and analyzing relevant scientific studies and articles on hypertension. The sources used include medical journals, reports of health organizations, and clinical guidelines published between 2003 and 2024. The literature selection process was carried out using keywords such as "hypertension", "hypertension control", and "hypertension impact" in academic databases such as PubMed (57) and Scopus (279).Results: There were 16 articles that were included in this literature and showed that the factors that cause hypertension include unhealthy lifestyles, genetic factors, and other medical conditions. Significant health impacts of hypertension include an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Effective control strategies, such as dietary changes, increased physical activity, and the use of antihypertensive medications, have been shown to lower blood pressure. Conclusion: Hypertension is a health problem that requires serious attention. By understanding the causes and impacts of hypertension, as well as implementing effective control strategies, we can reduce the prevalence of hypertension and improve the quality of life of individuals. Collaborative efforts between health workers, governments, and communities are essential to achieve this goal.

Abstract

Background : Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease caused by genetic factors, which is characterized by a deficiency in insulin production by the pancreas and/or due to ineffective insulin production, thereby increasing the concentration of glucose in the blood, which in turn damages various body systems, because diabetics Mellitus is often not aware of this disease and only finds out about it when symptoms of the disease appear and complications begin. Methods : This type of research is quantitative with a pre-experimental type, one-group pretest-posttest with a total sample of 50 people using the Accidental Sampling technique. The pre-experimental research design uses a one-group pretest-posttest design approach, where this research will reveal the effect between variables by involving one group of subjects. Results : This study shows that the results of the paired t test show knowledge of diabetic foot care with a value of ρ-value = 0.000 (<α = 0.05), and skills of diabetic foot care with a value of ρ-value = 0.000 which means there is no effect of education health knowledge and skills of diabetic foot care in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Conclusion : Efforts to provide education through the application of the blended learning method will increase the knowledge and skills of diabetic foot care to prevent the risk of diabetic foot injuries in type II DM sufferers. This research provides information for health workers (nurses), it is hoped that they will add information or literature, especially regarding the knowledge and skills of treating diabetic feet in patients with type II DM in caring for feet.

Abstract

Introduction: Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease that requires long-term treatment with high compliance. Compliance in taking medication is a key factor that affects the recovery of tuberculosis patients. In the Passo Health Center work area, it is important to understand the factors that influence this compliance in order to improve treatment outcomes. Method: This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional analytical survey design conducted in November 2023. The study population consisted of 40 pulmonary tuberculosis patients undergoing OAT treatment. The total sampling technique was used to collect samples, with a purposive sampling approach based on certain criteria. Results: The results showed that 75% of patients had good knowledge about their disease. As many as 87.5% of patients received good family support, and 75% of patients were always supervised in taking medication. However, only 62.5% of patients were compliant in taking medication as recommended. Factors such as lack of knowledge (25%), inadequate family support (12.5%), and lack of supervision in taking medication (25%) contribute to non-compliance, which in turn can lead to therapy failure and drug resistance. Conclusion: Compliance of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in treatment is greatly influenced by knowledge, family support, and supervision of taking medication. Interventions that focus on improving education, strengthening family support, and stricter supervision in treatment are needed to improve healing and prevent drug resistance.
