Abstract

This article reviews a classroom action in the form of the application of the discovery learning model assisted by infographic teaching materials to improve the learning processes and numeracy literacy skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Benteng Sidrap Regency of South Sulawesi in Indonesia. The approach is qualitative with the type of classroom action research (CAR). The research was conducted in two cycles on two-dimensional geometricshapes material. Each cycle was conducted in two learning meetings. The research results indicate that after implementing the action, the learning process reveals various changes, such as the focus, activity and involvement, and learning interactions. This change led to the improvement of students' numeracy literacy skills. The action in cycle I indicate that out of 20 students, five students (25%) were in the high-ability category and seven students (35%) werein the medium-ability category. Eight students (40%) were still in the low-ability category. In terms of the action in cycleII, there were 14 students (70%) who were in the high ability category, three students (15%) were in the medium ability category, and three students (15%) were still in the low ability category. The conclusion is that applying the Discovery Learning model supported by infographic teaching materials can improve fourth-grade students'learning process and numeracy literacy skills at SD Negeri 6 Benteng of Sidrap Regency in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

The learning community in Indonesia is snowballing among teachers. The problem is that only a few teacher-learning communities are consistence and intense in carrying out teacher-learning activities. This study aims to investigate how the learning conditions in online-based teacher-learning communities in Indonesia consistently carry out teacher-learning activities. The research design uses a qualitative approach with the case study method, and the research framework uses a qualitative e-research framework. Various data were obtained through interviews with eight teachers, documentation studies, and observation of teacher learning activities through online-based teacher-learning communities. The results show that some management of learning conditions is required to organize professional learning for teachers through online-based teacher-learning communities. Namely: 1) learning activities are inclusive and sustainable; 2) the characteristics of the learning participants are individuals who have a high initiative to re-learn; 2) the characteristics of learning topics according to the needs and problems of teachers; 3) the characteristics of the speakersĀ are from the teachers themselves (fellow teachers); 4) learning objectives are focused on improving teachers' teaching practice skills; and 5) there is a mapping of learning barriers that are managed during the learning process.

Abstract

Developing paragraph writing skills in elementary students requires innovative, interactive, and technology-integrated learning media. This study aimed to develop an UNO-Litera card integrated with Wordwall to facilitate paragraph writing skills in elementary school. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4D model, involving expert validation and limited field trials with grade 4 students and a classroom teacher. The developed media consists of printed word cards combined with a digital Wordwall unjumble game. The validity test results indicated that the product was very valid, while practicality tests showed that the media was very practical based on teacher and student responses. These findings suggest that the UNO-Litera card integrated with Wordwall is feasible for paragraph writing instruction and offers potential contributions to interactive literacy learning in elementary education.
