Abstract

Anthropogenic pollution (organic matter and Hg) around Cisadane River upstream can affect the abundances of macrozoobenthos. The aim of this research was to identify the abundances of macrozoobenthos and feeding groups, and also to identify the status of waters based on macrozoobenthos community. The research was conducted on January to March in four locations in the upstream of Cisadane River, covering Cikuluwung (ST 1), Cisarua (ST 2), Curug Bitung (ST 3), and Lukut (ST 4). Samples were collected with kick net and Eckman Grab. The dominance macrozoobenthos are Bungona (171 ind/m2), Simulium (101 ind/m2), Cheumatopsyche (50 ind/m2), and Polypedilum (28 ind/m2). Based on feeding groups, the dominance are filtering collector and gatherer collector. Based on the Pollution Index and Heavy Metal Pollution Index (Hg) on sediment, the upstream of Cisadane River is low polluted whereas EPT Index and Signal showed that upstream of Cisadane River is moderate polluted.

Abstract

One of the factors behind the declining catfish farm in Tangkit Baru, Jambi, is the rising price of commercial feed. A lot of fish farmers stop their cultivation. They make independent feed formulations based on existing sources around them. The lack of knowledge and understanding of feed nutrition causes the feed formulations not necessarily with feed standards (SNI) and feed commercial. Nutritious feed is essential for fish growth. The aim is to compare the nutrition of the tofu waste processed for local fish farmers, "Usaha Mandiri" in Tangkit Baru, with catfish feed standards and commercial. Fish feed produced by local fish farmers consists of 2 (two) types of pellets, it is pellet one consists of tofu waste and salted fish (50%:50%), and pellet two consists of a mixture of tofu waste, rice bran, and salted fish (30%: 20%: 50%). Measurement of feed nutrition includes crude protein (AOAC method, 2011); crude fat (SNI method 01-2891-1992); crude fiber (SNI method 01-2891-1992); ash content (AOAC method, 2005), and water content (AOAC method, 2005). The measurement results showed that the nutritional content in pellet one and pellet two, respectively, included crude protein (27.83%; 16.91%), crude fat (8.25%; 5.21%), crude fiber (5.71%; 5.49%), ash content (14.93%; 16.96%); and water content (29.59%; 26.23%). The nutritional content of pellet 1 was better than pellet 2, except for the ash content. The local pellet was by commercial feed and SNI 7548 (2009); pellet 1 is still feasible as an alternative feed for catfish farms.

Abstract

Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) is growing fast in China, in order for cultivation with this system to continue. Through eDNA approach in able to detect Ostreococcus lucimarinus which include picoeukaryotic in IMTA system at enclosed sea (Hangzhou Bay). Information about this species and their ecological placement in the IMTA system is still very limited. eDNA is an ecological approach that can detect supply down to the species level in monitoring aquatic ecology in the IMTA system. The purpose of this study was to determine the taxonomy and guarantees of Ostreococcus lucimarinus and the role of this species in the IMTA system descriptively. Through high throughput sequencing, the taxonomic results of Ostreococcus lucimarinus and confinement of this picoekaryotic species were highest in winter with a total of 599,632 ind. Based on the sampling location, the highest abundance were in aquaculture areas of 337,165 ind. The approach using eDNA has proven to be capable of detecting up to the species level as well as spatiotemporal abundance dynamics of Ostreococcus lucimarinus.

Abstract

Alat tangkap tangkul adalah alat penangkap ikan yang termasuk dalam kelompok jaring angkat (lift nets) yang dioperasikan dengan tangan. Pengoperasian tangkul di Danau Kerinci berkaitan erat dengan lama perendaman alat tersebut. Lama perendaman alat tangkap mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan yang didapatkan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman alat tangkap tangkul terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan. Metode penelitian yaitu metode experimental fishing, menggunakan perlakuan waktu yang berbeda yaitu 10 menit, 15 menit dan 20 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada perlakuan 10 menit berpengaruh nyata dengan perlakuan 15 menit dan 20 menit terhadap jumlah dan berat total hasil tangkapan. Hasil tangkapan ikan dengan tangkul terdiri dari 3 spesies ikan yaitu ikan nila (oreochromis niloticus), ikan barau (Hampala Macrolepid) dan ikan Medik (Osteochilus wandersii). Alat tangkul yang direndam selama 10 menit diperoleh hasil tangkapan yang terbanyak yaitu 209 ekor, 15 menit sebesar 156 ekor, dan 20 menit sebesar 113 ekor. waktu perendaman alat tangkap tangkul berpengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan.

Abstract

This study focuses on assessing the coastal conditions in Jambi Province both physicochemical and biological parameters. This combination of assessments previously still had limited understanding. Retrieval of physical parameter data using a multi-parameter water quality analyzer, chemical data using the APHA method and spectrophotometer, and chlorophyll-a data using the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS). The results, with adjustments to national quality standards and pollution index measurements, showed that the five research stations on the east coast of Jambi experienced light to moderate pollution with a score range of 1.252-5.831. Pollution is in the form of nutrients, especially nitrate. However, the trophic index of the coast is classified as oligotrophic, which ranges between 0.689278 - 0.7599 mg/m3. Otherwise, the high nutrient values are TOM and TN, which have a significant correlation, besides the correlation with DO and pH. Measurements of TN and TP in the water column and sediment have also been carried out, where the water column TN concentration is about 5 times higher than the sediment TN and the water column TP concentration is 7 times lower than the sediment TP. The results of this study will contribute to a better understanding of coastal ecosystem health and its significance for the management of the coastal environment in Jambi as a fisheries catchment area.

Abstract

The catch is influenced by the ability of the fishing gear to obtain organisms in a certain period of time called the catch rate. Until now it is not known how effective the performance of the surface gill net fishing gear is. This study aims to determine the composition of the catch, catch rate, frequency of occurrence of fish species and factors that affect the catch in the surface gill net. The method used is the survey method with data collection using purposive sampling. The results of the study showed that the total catch was 2.207 fish weighing 644,706 kg, which was divided into two, namely the main catch (HTU) with a weight percentage of 74,73% and bycatch (HTS) with a percentage of 25,27%. The percentage of catch in units of fish, in HTU of 89,76% and HTS of 10,24%. It was concluded that the composition of the surface gill net catch has 13 species, the highest catch rate and frequency of occurrence is mackerel (Rastrelliger sp.) as much as 2,61 kg/hour with 86,67% frequency of occurrence. The factor that significantly influences the catch with an increasing trendline is the duration of operation with a P-value of 0,0007. Abstract

Hasil tangkapan ikan peperek (Leiognathus equulus) di Perairan Carocok cukup fluktuatif dikarenakan lokasi yang berbeda-beda akan mempengaruhi kelimpahan dari hasil tangkapan ikan peperek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jarak fishing base dan fishing ground serta melihat hasil kelimpahan dari ikan peperek dari lokasi yang berbeda (distribusi spasial) menggunakan alat tangkap bagan perahu. Metode penelitian ini bersifat survei yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai dengan Agustus 2023 yang berlokasi di UPTD Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Carocok Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lokasi penangkapan dan suhu perairan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil tangkapandan kelimpahan ikan peperek (Leiognathus equulus). Pada daerah Pamutusan memiliki 20 titik koordinat dengan jumlah hasil tangkapan sebanyak 601 kg ikan peperek. Sedangkan di dekat daerah Pulau Soetan memiliki 8 titik koordinasi dengan jumlah hasil tangkapan sebanyak 228 kg ikan peperek. Jarak terjauh saat melakukan penangkapan ikan peperek (Leiognathus equulus) berada pada angka 12.47 km dengan hasil tangkap sebesar 30 kg dimana jumlah ikan yang diperoleh sebanyak 2.730 ekor. Sedangkan, jarak terdekat berada di angka 3.75 km dengan hasil tangkapan yang diperoleh sebesar 45 kg dan kelimpahan sebanyak 4.140 ekor.

Abstract

Kondisi penutupan lahan di Cagar Alam Hutan Bakau Pantai Timur (CAHBPT) Jambi yang masih baik memiliki lahan 2268.39 ha dan sudah dialih fungsi lahan oleh masyarakat untuk perkebunan seluas 1.584,57 ha, akibatnya masyarakat pesisir di Perairan Kuala Tungkal Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat Jambi mengalami kondisi yang rawan abrasi berdampak pada kemunduran garis pantainya sejauh 115 m.  Kegiatan penanaman mangrove ini dilakukan di 2 lokasi Pantai Perairan Kuala Tangkal yang terdampak Abrasi khususnya Desa Tungkal 1 Parit 9 pada tanggal 28 Juli dan 10 Oktober 2024. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk mencegah abrasi yang berkelanjutan yang dialami Daratan Kuala Tungkal. Tim Pengabdian bekerjasama dengan HIMAPERI, MAPALA PAMSAKA, PMI, dan KSR Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat untuk melakukan kegiatan penanaman mangrove, jenis mangrove yang di tanam adalah jenis Sonneratia caseolaris dan Avicennia marina sebanyak 200 batang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penanaman ini adalah metode koloni dan metode penanaman 1 lobang 1 pohon dengan asumsi penanaman koloni agar memberikan peluang tanaman mangrove yang di tanam dapat bertahan dalam keadaan gelombang yang kuat. Adapun persentase dengan teknik penanaman secara koloni 76% tanaman hidup namun pada penanaman 1 lobang 1 tanaman tingkat hidup dari tanaman hanya 52%. Kegiatan penanaman bagus di lakukan dengan system koloni agar tanaman mangrove yang di tanam banyak yang hidup
