Abstract

The assessment system generally requires transparency and objectivity to assess student performance in terms of abstraction. Fuzzy logic method has been used as one of the best methods to reduce this uncertainty. Therefore, we have conducted a literature review to examine the application of fuzzy logic in assessing the performance of different students. The Preferred Reporting Items for the Systematics Review and Meta-Analysis Method (PRISMA) were used as the basic method for conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The articles reviewed were 38 articles from 2008 until 2018. All articles were classified based on the author, year of publication, type of journal or conference, sample size, context, data type, fuzzy technique, and basic findings. The results of this review show the positive effects of using fuzzy logic on student performance assessment. Overall, this review provides an appropriate reference for further research by identifying research needs in aspects of student performance assessment.

Abstract

This  study  aimed  to  design  a  batik  learning  medium  for vocational high school students in based on multiplatform. The application  made was expected  to support heutagogy approach – based learning and to deal with the development of  science  and  technology  integrated  in  the  curriculum  of vocational high schools. The application developed, namely e-botik,  was  an  integration  of  several  previously-designed applications using Code ignitor (CI) framework. The database used was My-SQL. It is commonly known that Code igniter is an open source web application framework utilized to create dynamic PHP applications. In this study, e-botik consisted of three main  components  including interface, database,  and application  programming  interface  (API).  Some  of  the applications combined were ARtikon_joyful (Android-based), Video Kasumedangan Batik (movie player), Nalungtik  Batik (desktop-based),  Digi_Learnik  (web-based),  Batik  UPI (manual),  Batik  Cireundeu  (manual),  and  Lembar  Balik (manual). The combination proceeded web-based so that it was  compatible  with  various  operating  systems.  The application (e-botik) was designed and then tested. The test was  performed  through  whitebox  testing  and  blackbox testing. The results of the test showed that it ran well and was able to be used a batik learning media. It is expected that students  can  utilize  e-botik  in  selecting  topics  of  learning batik in accordance with their competences and needs. This condition enables e-botik to support learning batik through heutagogical approach. In addition, the application was also validated in terms of both system and usage aspects.

Abstract

This paper aims to summarize and analyze the Developing Information Technology in Open CourseWare (OCW) movements and new opportunities in Asia in the context of supporting the education process in higher education that is in accordance with the recent demands for graduate competency supported by IT innovation. The review method is carried out in 3 stages: searching and downloading articles, filtering and sorting, and final screening. The results of this review show that the OCW movement in Asia is growing rapidly, among others, due to IT innovation, stakeholder commitment, public awareness, and the need for quality teaching materials. In the era of web 5.0 technology, lecturers must have the competencies to develop electronic activities through the Web that make students truly active so that online learning actually takes place rather than the electronic reading process. The impact of IT innovation has brought drastic changes in the field of education in the learning process has become an effective driving tool for improving learning outcomes and achieving educational goals, one of the most recent innovations is OCW. OCW movement in Asia has progressed rapidly and significantly, although they experience transformations in accordance with technological developments and needs in the field.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine research developments, (2) produce research distribution maps based on co-authorship analysis, (3) produce research distribution maps based on citation analysis, (4) produce research distribution maps based on co-citation analysis, (5) produce a research distribution map based on co-occurrence analysis, and (6) find out the state-of-the-art research in the use of technology for fake news detection. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach in bibliometric analysis from 2011 to 2021. From the research results obtained (1) the development of research publications in the field of the use of technology for fake news detection shows an increase, (2) the interrelationships between countries of authors, organizations affiliated with the authors, and among authors, (3) distribution map of citation analysis based on units of countries, sources, and authors, (4) distribution map of co-citation analysis based on unit cited sources and cited authors, (5) connection of keyword in the use of technology for fake news detection publications is related to literacy skills such as media literacy and information literacy, and (6) several research trends that researchers have widely used in the last 2 years including COVID-19, media literacy, and cyber deception. The research results can be used to determine the development of research o in the use of technology for fake news detection and as a reference for developing further research in the use of technology for fake news detection.

Abstract

This research aims to design a trainer simulator wake height of the water level measurement using microcontroller arduino mega integrated with Human Machine Interface (HMI). This tool is designed to describe a working system of water level elevation measurements as a learning medium HMI. By using a microcontroller arduino mega, all processes in both input and output can be integrated to the HMI using a 7-inch LCD screen.

Abstract

This paper aims to review the potential of wave energy in several countries, the wave energy converter technology that has been developed, and the impact of the installation of wave energy converter technology devices on the environment. In addition, it discusses the theoretical formulations and challenges in the development of energy converter technology in the future. Based on the detail analysis, the potential of ocean wave energy for alternative energy is very large but cannot be used optimally because the technology of wave energy converter that has been developed is still on a prototype scale. In addition, the impact of the use of ocean wave converters on the environment is insignificant compared with conventional energy. Finally, this study informs and recommends the government and the private sector to start investing in the ocean wave energy industry optimally in order to achieve a sustainable future.

Abstract

The development of renewable energy has been constantly conducted as an attempt to increase energy diversification, improve energy sustainability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including the wind power plant (WPP). Suitable location selection is urgently necessary to achieve optimized output and high economic values. There are multi-criteria to be considered during the selection process, namely wind velocity, climate condition, road access, environmental impact, land use, land tilt, plain condition, distance to residential areas, etc. This study aimed to develop a software supporting multi-criteria decision-making based on artificial intelligent technology, namely fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (fuzzy-AHP) which was implemented to evaluate the WPP location suitability. The method of fuzzy-AHP is believed to be able to generate prioritized criteria supporting the location of WPP with high accuracy. Based on those criteria, there were two locations identified at Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan, Indonesia, as the most suitable research sites. It is expected that studies employing fuzzy-AHP are to be further developed to determine wider renewable WPP locations.
