Abstract

The learning environment in early childhood education institutions still faces challenges in implementing the values of cleanliness, neatness, health, and security (K4 Pillars). This study aims to develop a K4 Pillar module based on local wisdom through an ethnoscience approach within the context of early childhood education. The research employs the Educational Design Research (EDR) method to produce an innovative educational product. The subjects of the study include randomly selected early childhood students and teachers. Data collection methods encompass questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data analysis utilizes statistical techniques for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data. The research findings indicate that the majority of students (87.5%) strongly support the use of the module as a learning tool, emphasizing its critical role in early childhood education. However, most teachers (62.5%) did not attempt to link the module with local wisdom, and 75% did not employ an ethnoscience approach, highlighting the need for increased teacher engagement in integrating local cultural elements and ethnoscience concepts into teaching. High levels of support from both students and teachers (87.5%) for the local wisdom-based module with an ethnoscience approach underscore its potential to enhance the effectiveness of early childhood education. The study concludes that the local wisdom-based module with an ethnoscience approach has significant potential to improve the effectiveness of early childhood education.

Abstract

Alue Naga Village is located in the coastal area of the Syiah Kuala sub-district, which has the potential for shrimp pond cultivation. A mistake in choosing a pond location will cause problems, one of which is environmental. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of land for shrimp pond cultivation in Alue Naga village. The samples tested directly in this study measured the level of salinity and soil pH at predetermined pond points and were marked using the Avenza Maps application based on a simple random sampling technique. This research uses overlay and scoring method analysis. The parameters used and analyzed were: land use, soil texture, soil type, soil pH, land slope, distance from the river, distance from the coastline, and salinity. The results of the spatial analysis show three classifications of land classes for shrimp pond cultivation, namely: 1) The class is very suitable for pond cultivation (S1), with an area of 85.15 ha and a percentage of 59.72%. 2) Class suitable for pond cultivation (S2), with an area of 56.91 ha and a percentage of 39.91% 3) Conditionally suitable class for pond cultivation (S3), with an area of 0.52 ha and a percentage of 0.36% There are no ponds in unsuitable areas. The dominant factor affecting the development of ponds in Alue Naga village is land use, most of which is already in the area where they should be, and the salt content is in accordance with the criteria.

Abstract

The problem of seawater seepage in coastal areas can result in a decrease in groundwater quality due to the mixing of seawater and groundwater, so seawater seepage has an impact on increasing salinity, including in the research area. The research location is in the Lampulo beach area, Kuta Alam sub-district. Phreatic well water is generally not liked by residents of this coastal area because it tastes brackish. The high salinity of phreatic groundwater is caused by seawater seepage into alluvial land. The aim of this research is to analyze the level of groundwater salinity in the Lampulo coastal area, Kuta Alam sub-district. This research uses a grid sampling method and criteria for assessing groundwater salinity (o/oo) based on salt content. Groundwater salinity was measured randomly in 50 phreatic wells using a refractometer and marked with sample coordinates using the Avenza Maps application. Field measurement results show that there are variations in salinity values ranging from 0 to 32 ppt. Phreatic well water at the research location based on its salt content is grouped into three groups, namely fresh water, brackish water and salt water. For the freshwater group, a percentage value was obtained with a prevalence of 68%; for the brackish water group, a percentage value was obtained with a prevalence of 26%; and for the salt water group, a percentage value was obtained with a prevalence of 6%.Keywords: Salinity, Groundwater, Phreatic Well, Seawater Seepage, Grid Sampling
