Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Conceptual Problem Solving-based learning in improving student conceptual understanding of Newtonian mechanics. The quasi-experimental method with a nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design was used to compare students conceptual in the experimental and control class. The subjects in this study were 69 first-year students of the Physics Education study program at one of the state universities in Yogyakarta. Force Concept inventories are used to assess students conceptual understanding of Newtonian mechanics. The findings revealed that there was significant difference in the increase in students conceptual understanding between the experimental and control groups. The increase in conceptual mismatch in experimental class students using CPS learning was higher (N-gain = 0.33) compared to control class students using direct instruction learning (N-gain = 0.11), although both groups experienced an increase. This study provides a real picture that the CPS technique can be used as a more successful strategy to improve the quality of physics learning, especially in improving knowledge of basic topics that are often difficult for students to understand, one of which is Newton's Law.

Abstract

The Grade Point Average (GPA) score is the average value of each student who has studied for several semesters. This value is considered a representation of students' success in learning. Meanwhile, it is known that success in studying physics is not only influenced by cognitive abilities but also related to other things including students' beliefs and attitudes toward physics. This study aims to examine the relationship between students' beliefs and attitudes towards physics on GPA scores. This study used a survey research design with a total of 69 students from the third-year physics education department as subjects. Spearman's Rank Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between students' beliefs and attitudes toward physics with GPA scores. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between the two but with a very weak relationship. The correlation coefficient value obtained is 0.132 while the significance value is 0.281. These results indicate that the relationship that occurs between the two variables is not significant.

Abstract

The large role of physics in the science development and technology requires physics education to refer to learning outcomes with proper concepts understanding, not only including systematic study of topics, but also about understanding the physics basic principles related to the universe. Therefore, interactive learning media is needed, easy to understand and provides a clear picture of concepts so that students fully understand the physical phenomena concept in the universe. This research aims to develop physics learning media assisted by 3D application Scratch on the calipers topic to improve student learning outcomes. The research method used is the RD research method with a 4D model design consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The overall validation test results obtained an average score of 3.27. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the physics learning media assisted by 3D application Scratch on the calipers topic is feasible for students to learn measurements using calipers.Keywords: Learning Media, Scratch, Caliper, Measurement, Learning Outcomes. Besarnya peran fisika dalam perkembangan IPTEK menuntut pendidikan fisika mengacu pada hasil belajar dengan pemahaman konsep yang tepat, tidak hanya mencakup topik kajian yang sistematis, tetapi mengenai pemahaman prinsip-prinsip dasar fisika yang berkaitan dengan alam semesta. Oleh karena itu diperlukan media pembelajaran yang interaktif, mudah dipahami dan memberikan gambaran konsep yang jelas agar peserta didik memahami sepenuhnya konsep fenomena fisika di alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran fisika berbantuan aplikasi 3D Scratch pada topik jangka panjang sorong untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian RD dengan desain model 4D yang terdiri atas tahap Define , Design , Develop , dan Tahap Disseminate . Hasil uji validasi secara keseluruhan diperoleh rata-rata skor 3,27. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan jika media pembelajaran fisika berbantuan 3D application Scratch pada topik jangka sorong layak digunakan oleh peserta didik untuk mempelajari pengukuran menggunakan jangka sorong dan dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut.Kata-kata kunci :: Media Pembelajaran, Goresan, Jangka Sorong, Pengukuran, Hasil Belajar.

Abstract

Newton's laws are fundamental concepts in mechanics and serve as the foundation for various other topics in physics. However, mastering these concepts remains a challenge for university students. This study aims to analyze the difficulties experienced by students in understanding Newton's laws. The research method employed is descriptive quantitative, involving 35 first-year physics education students. The instrument used was the Force Concept Inventory (FCI), consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions with five answer options each. Data analysis was conducted by identifying items where students' posttest answer percentages were below 50%. Crosstabulation was used to observe shifts in students' answers from the pretest to the posttest, followed by descriptive analysis. The study revealed several difficulties encountered by students regarding Newton's laws, including challenges in understanding the concept of resultant velocity of moving objects, the distinction between velocity and acceleration (Newton’s Second Law), and Newton’s Third Law. These findings are based on the analysis of FCI items number 8, 13, and 26.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the closure of almost all learning processes in Islamic boarding schools. Only some Islamic boarding schools have succeeded in modifying learning methods, one of which is the Darul Faqih Indonesian Islamic Boarding School located in Malang Regency, Indonesia. This community service aims to support efforts to strengthen the digitalisation of Darul Faqih Indonesian Islamic boarding school and direct the development of hybrid Islamic boarding schools after the Covid-19 pandemic. This community service activity consists of two phases. First, at the beginning of the semester, teachers are given training to strengthen the use of learning management systems and mobile apps. In the second phase, the teacher was invited back to conduct a focus group discussion at the end of the implementation. At the end of this service activity, impact measurements were also carried out from a teacher's perspective. A total of 58 teachers participated in this activity. Less than half of teachers have a preference for mixed learning. However, they have high self-efficacy in implementing effective learning to support the implementation of hybrid pesantren. Constraints during mixed learning are appropriate technological and pedagogical support. Despite some challenges, teachers have so far been able to adapt to various online learning methods. Most agree that blended learning can be next as the next main effort towards hybrid pesantren.[Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak pada penutupan hampir semua proses pembelajaran di pondok pesantren. Hanya sebagian pondok pesantren yang berhasil memodifikasi metode pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah Pondok Pesantren Darul Faqih Indonesia yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Malang, Indonesia. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dukungan dalam upaya penguatan digitalisasi pesantren Darul Faqih Indonesia dan mengarahkan pada pembangunan pesantren hibrid pasca pandemi Covid-19. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terdiri dari dua fase. Pertama, pada awal semester, guru diberikan pelatihan untuk penguatan penggunaan learning manajemen system dan mobile app. Fase kedua, di akhir penerapan, guru diundang kembali untuk melakukan Focus Group Discussion. Di akhir kegiatan pengabdian ini juga dilakukan pengukuran dampak berupa perspektif guru. Sebanyak 58 guru berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ini. Kurang dari separuh guru yang memiliki preferensi terhadap pembelajaran campuran. Namun, mereka memiliki efikasi diri yang tinggi dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mendukung implementasi pesantren hibrid. Kendala selama pembelajaran campuran adalah dukungan teknologi dan pedagogi yang tepat dan sesuai. Meskipun ada beberapa tantangan, guru sejauh ini mampu beradaptasi dengan berbagai metode pembelajaran daring, dan mayoritas setuju bahwa pembelajaran campuran dapat diterapkan selanjutnya sebagai upaya utama menuju pesantren hibrid.]

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa PPT interaktif dengan pendekatan Student Centered Learning pada materi fluida statis untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah R&D (Research and Development) dengan jenis penelitian 4D yaitu define, design, develop, desseminate. Pada tahapan desseminate dilakukan penyebaran dengan mengirimkan artikel yang telah dibuat ke jurnal yang hendak dituju. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran PPT interaktif yang telah diuji oleh 2 validator ahli. terkategori sangat layak dengan persentase 86%. Media pembelajaran dapat dikategorikan sangat layak jika persentase validasi lebih besar dari 80%.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis model flipped classroom berupa rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD), dan soal  dapat digunakan sebagai panduan pembelajaran fisika materi dinamika rotasi dan keseimbangan benda tegar. Hasil uji kelayakan terhadap dosen pengajar memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 98,14% dan tergolong dalam kriteria sangat valid. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat menjadi solusi guru dalam memandu pembelajaran dengan beberapa keunggulan, yaitu: 1) Pembelajaran dirancang secara rinci, sistematis, dan interaktif, 2) Penggunaan model flipped classroom menjadikan siswa dapat berinteraksi secara langsung dengan konsep fisika yang sedang dipelajari, dan 3) Sebagian besar waktu pada kegiatan pembelajaran digunakan untuk praktikum.

Abstract

Questions about the origins of humanity are challenging and motivating inquiries that can serve as a tool to encourage students to think critically. That context can also be provided to students when discussing the integration of science and religion. In this study, we measured the effectiveness of science and religion integration training specifically for Muslim students. This training intervention consists of three seminars, namely the integration of science and Islam methods, the context of human origins, and its writing, each developed by a mixed team of science and religion experts. By combining training observations and reflective essays, this study evaluates the training approach and how the program influences students' opinions/beliefs about the compatibility of science and religion. Specifically, this study explores students' ability to engage in critical thinking and express themselves when faced with explanations of science and religion simultaneously. As a result, there was a change in the beliefs of the students before and after the training, where the students shifted their opinions towards a more reconciliatory stance. However, the presence of a small number of students who are moving in opposite directions encourages educators to explore various methodologies for integrating science and religion that are more appropriate. Overall, this research contributes to the fundamental understanding of how students interpret science and religion, as well as the pedagogical approaches that can be used to navigate their interpretations from conflict to integration.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mencoba menjelaskan program edukasi sekolah berbasis peace education (PE) yang diprakarsai oleh tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat Universitas Negeri Malang dengan mitra majelis Musyawarah Kerja Kepala Sekolah (MKKS) Sub Rayon 33 Wagir Kabupaten Malang. Secara rinci, kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang bertujuan menanamkan nilai-nilai perdamaian dan semangat hidup berdampingan antar umat beragama, khususnya diantara sekolah yang beragam corak keagamaanya di Kecamatan Wagir. Program edukasi berbasis PE dilaksanakan melalui rangkaian kegiatan seminar, focus group discussion (FGD), hingga pelaksanaan langsung kepada siswa dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Program ini dilakukan dalam dua sesi utama, yakni kegiatan seminar dengan pembahasan tentang moderasi beragama dan FGD dengan fokus pada implementasinya. Dari kegiatan ini, dihasilkan sejumlah poin penting yang dapat dilakukan di sekolah dan kelas yakni membangun atmosfer atau budaya sekolah yang mendukung dengan mengapresiasi budaya yang berbeda, melakukan resolusi konflik, mendorong  partisipasi aktif dan kolaboratif, membangun sikap toleransi, dan membuat nilai-nilai agama menjadi pegangan kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa dalam menjalankan tugas di sekolah.Â
