Abstract

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art characterized by rapid kicks. In the combat category, technical ability is the key to success in gaining points. The aphurigi technique (axe kick) is one of the important techniques in taekwondo because the technique gives a point contribution of around 20% in the match. Thus, it is necessary to investigate kinematic analysis to determine the kinematic parameters that contribute to the success of the aphurigi (axe kick) kick technique. 24 athletes were involved in this research, divided into 2 groups, namely the national level group and the regional group. All samples performed aphurigi kicks, then recorded using a camera and analyzed using skill spector software in 2 dimensions. There are 6 parameters analyzed consisting of kick speed, hip position, angular speed, and kick range. From the measurements that have been carried out, the results show that national-level athletes have significant differences compared to regional athletes in kick speed in the upswing phase, p-0.003, hip position, p-0.045, and knee angle in the upswing phase, p-0.026. However, there were no significant differences in other parameters, including kick speed in the upswing phase, kick range, and knee angle in the upswing phase. The results show the importance of a specific training program to train kinematic parameters that can influence aphurigi kick performance, therefore amateur athletes can master effective kick techniques and compete at the national level.

Abstract

Sampel berjumlah 12 pemain putri klub futsal 35 Kota Bandung.

Abstract

The study was an attempt to analyse the biomechanical aspects of drag push movements in professional and amateur indoor hockey players. This study was a cross-sectional assay in which a sample of 10 (five professional and five amateur) athletes were included. Analysis were concentrating on several kinematic variables including ball speed, foot support width, distance between the ball and front foot, drag trajectory length, drag phase duration and average drag velocity. A high-speed camera, Kinovea motion analysis software and speed gun were used to collect data. Results from the analysis revealed that two primary variables were significantly different between groups, the drag time differed significantly: 0.30 seconds for the professional group and 0.42 seconds for the amateur group (p = 0.046). Strange enough, average drag speed was even elevated to 1.68 m/s in amateur athletes (vs a value of 1.30 m/s in professionals), though being not significant (p = 0.839) and also not translated into increased ball speed gained with each OF shot, and drag distance (p = 0.005). The ball speed swung by professional and amateur players was virtually higher in the former, but it did not reach a statistical significance. These results support the knowledge that drag push power depends on the capacity of efficiently linking the coordination to optimize drag trajectory. According to these findings, the current study recommends that training programs for amateur hockey players should pay more attention on enhancing dynamic skills for better drag push performance in indoor-hockey.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Active Recovery (AR) and Cold-Water Immersion (CWI) in reducing blood lactate as an indicator of fatigue recovery in recreational runners after completing a 5-kilometer run. Using a pretest–posttest crossover design, seven recreational runners participated in two recovery conditions AR and CWI with a one-day washout period between treatments. Lactate levels were measured before and after each recovery session. The analysis showed that AR lowered lactate levels from 8.286 mmol/L to 6.257 mmol/L (p = 0.106), while CWI reduced levels from 5.243 mmol/L to 3.300 mmol/L (p = 0.057). While neither method showed statistically significant differences, CWI revealed a more noticeable trend in accelerating lactate reduction toward OBLA values compared to AR. These findings indicate that CWI could provide faster metabolic recovery for recreational runners needing shorter recovery periods, whereas AR remains appropriate for gentler recovery focused on sustaining movement ease. Due to the limited sample size, additional studies with a larger population are advised to provide stronger support for these recovery strategies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of artistic swimmers from West Java using video as a more objective evaluation tool. Athlete performance has usually been assessed directly, which can lead to subjectivity. Kinematic analysis was used for data from three female athletes from qualifying round of the 2025 West Java Provincial Sports Week and the 2025 West Java Regional Sports Championship . Leg height index (LHI) and average leg angle deviation (LAD) in vertical and knight movements were calculated using Kinovea software for frame-by-frame data extraction. The LAD was calculated based on the angle deviation from the ideal position, and the LHI values were compared to the FINA standard height card. The analysis results show that there are quite noticeable technical differences between the subjects.  SSK a showed the best and most consistent performance, with an average LHI of 9.5 (Vertical) and 9.6 (Knight) that was closer to the FINA standard, and her LAD was also relatively small on both elements. AEN demonstrated a stable LHI (9.1 Vertical; 9.2 Knight). Compared to other athletes, AEN LAD values tended to be higher, which may indicate that she reached sufficient height to make utilizing the angles around her peak more difficult. Meanwhile, LNL achieved a lower LHI (9.1 Vertical; 8.9 Knight) as well as the smallest LAD value in the Knight movement (1.3°). Although her vertical LAD (5.9°) was higher than AEN. The results indicate that video-based performance analysis can be successfully applied to the evaluation of artistic swimming performance.
