Abstract

This activity aims to optimize the management and utilization of organic waste at Ciputat Market, South Tangerang City on June 2022, through the implementation of composting methods and the use of biodigester technology. The activities were conducted at Ciputat Market, a major economic hub with a significant volume of organic waste produced daily. The results show that the composting and biodigester methods significantly reduced the volume of organic waste. The compost produced is nutrient-rich and can be used as an effective natural fertilizer, while the biodigester technology converts organic waste into biogas, an environmentally friendly alternative energy source. This implementation not only helps to reduce waste issues at Ciputat Market but also provides economic benefits to the surrounding community by offering value-added products such as compost and biogas. This approach demonstrates great potential for more efficient and sustainable organic waste management in other traditional markets.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of experimental statistical analysis as an instructional approach to enhance students’ understanding of variable relationships in science learning. Many students tend to memorize experimental results without comprehending the underlying relationships between variables, resulting in limited analytical reasoning and superficial understanding. To address this issue, the present study explores how integrating basic statistical tools-such as mean, correlation, and regression-into experimental activities can strengthen conceptual comprehension, analytical reasoning, and scientific literacy. Grounded in constructivist and inquiry-based learning frameworks, the research emphasizes active engagement, where students participate in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to draw evidence-based conclusions. The study employed a quasi-experimental design involving science students divided into experimental and control groups. Both groups conducted similar laboratory experiments, but only the experimental group received explicit instruction in statistical analysis. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure changes in students’ understanding of variable relationships. The results indicated a 25% improvement in the experimental group’s comprehension and reasoning ability compared to the control group. Students who applied statistical analysis demonstrated greater proficiency in interpreting data, identifying causal patterns, and connecting theoretical knowledge to experimental findings. In contrast, students taught through traditional narrative-based instruction showed minimal gains and relied heavily on memorization. The findings highlight the effectiveness of integrating statistical reasoning in promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning skills.

Abstract

The Taxation is one of the main pillars of state revenue that supports national development, However, tax compliance in Indonesia is still a big challenge, especially for companies located in the country's border areas. The purpose of this study is to explore how CoreTax system affects the tax compliance, identify the challenges, and analyze the implications. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, through in-depth interviews, documentation studies and field observations. The data was analyzed thematically based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), tax compliance theory, and Institutional Theory. The results of this study show that the implementation of CoreTax initially faced of limited digital literacy and technical understanding, but it continuously increased with full support from DJP tax institution. CoreTax has been proven to make easy and simplify reporting, increase transparency, and strengthen the actual compliance through an automated sanctions mechanism. In addition to the technical aspects, institutional legitimacy and trust in the DJP tax institution have also proven to play an important role in shaping compliance morale. This research has practical implications for government to strengthen the digital infrastructure, provide technical guidance, and expand the socialization in areas with limited access to technology. From an academic perspective, these findings enrich the literature on CoreTax's digital taxation system that supports sustainable tax compliance.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate students’ satisfaction with academic services and analyze open-ended opinions using the Artificial Intelligence Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (AI-BERT) model. The research employed a quantitative experimental method, combining a five-point Likert scale survey across seven academic service indicators and AI-BERT sentiment analysis of 150 student comments. The results indicate that the overall student satisfaction level falls into the “good” category, with a Student Satisfaction Index (SSI) of 78.53%. The highest-rated indicator was access to academic information (mean = 4.21), while the lowest was administrative service speed (mean = 3.67). Sentiment analysis revealed 60.67% positive, 36.00% negative, and 3.33% neutral opinions, highlighting the need for improvement in service speed and staff responsiveness. Evaluation of the AI-BERT model demonstrated superior performance with an accuracy of 91.3% and an F1-score of 0.913, outperforming conventional methods such as SVM and Naïve Bayes. These findings provide a basis for recommendations on developing digital-based academic service strategies and leveraging AI technology to enhance service efficiency and quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the spin-off of Sharia Business Units (Unit Usaha Syariah/UUS) in general insurance companies in Indonesia from regulatory, managerial, and financial perspectives. The study is motivated by the mandatory separation policy stipulated in Law No. 4 of 2023 concerning Financial Sector Development and Strengthening and Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) No. 11 of 2023, which aim to strengthen the institutional structure and competitiveness of the Islamic financial industry. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using secondary data derived from regulations, academic literature, industry reports, financial statements, and official publications issued by the Financial Services Authority and related institutions. The analytical framework combines normative and empirical approaches to examine the implementation dynamics of the spin-off policy. The findings indicate that, from a regulatory perspective, the implementation process involves minimum capital fulfillment, portfolio transfer, regulatory approval, and the establishment of independent sharia entities. From a managerial perspective, the spin-off requires organizational restructuring, strengthening of sharia-based human resources, separation of operational systems, and implementation of sharia-based good corporate governance. From a financial perspective, the spin-off increases operational costs in the initial phase due to investments in systems, infrastructure, and human resources. Nevertheless, in the long term, the policy has the potential to improve operational efficiency, financial transparency, institutional independence, and overall financial performance. Therefore, the successful implementation of the spin-off depends on regulatory readiness, managerial capability, and financial resilience

Abstract

This study examines the potential of the Seaside Coast in Tanjung Pinang to be developed through a blue economy approach that integrates environmental sustainability, community participation, and local economic development. The research is motivated by the growing environmental challenges in coastal tourism areas, including plastic pollution, coastal erosion, and unmanaged reclamation, which threaten marine ecosystems and the sustainability of tourism. The novelty of this study lies in its contextual and field-based analysis of how blue economy principles can be practically implemented in small-scale coastal tourism management through community involvement and collaborative governance. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through literature reviews, field surveys, semi-structured interviews with 10 informants, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving 12 participants, and direct observations of tourism and environmental conditions in the coastal area. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis and SWOT analysis to identify strategic issues related to sustainable tourism management. The findings indicate that Seaside Coast has strong potential for blue economy-based tourism development, driven by its strategic location, active local MSMEs, and attractive coastal landscape. However, several challenges remain, including weak institutional coordination, limited environmental awareness, plastic waste pollution, and coastal abrasion. The study also highlights that community participation and stakeholder collaboration are essential factors in supporting sustainable coastal tourism governance. In conclusion, the successful implementation of blue economy principles in Tanjung Pinang depends on integrating environmental management, participatory governance, and sustainable tourism planning to ensure long-term ecological and socio-economic sustainability.
