Abstract

Misconception is a mismatch between the understanding of the concept known by students and the actual concept. Physics is a science that has several concepts. The profile of misconceptions on physics concepts must be identified so that students have an appropriate understanding of the concepts. The purpose of this research is to analyze students™ concept understanding and misconceptions of Rotational Dynamics material using a four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test. The type of research used is descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approaches. This research was conducted in one of the high schools in Medan in Grade XI IPA. The population in this research was grade XI students majoring in IPA. The research sample was obtained by using purposive sampling technique as many as 64 students of grade XI IPA 2 and XI IPA 3. Sampling based on certain criteria from population participants. The criteria are classes whose students have finished learning Rotational Dynamics material and have not been tested on Rotational Dynamics material. Data collection techniques in the form of diagnostic tests response questionnaires and interviews. The test used is a four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test that has been validated by experts. The diagnostic test consists of 18 valid items with a reliability of 0.912 including a very high category, good differentiating power, and moderate difficulty level. The results showed that students' concept understanding of Rotational Dynamics material was categorized as moderate with 44.88% of students understood the concept, 50.17% of students had misconceptions, and 4.95% of students did not understand the concept, and students' responses to the use of four-tier multiple choice diagnostic tests obtained 80% with good criteria.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a critical thinking test instrument on the material of work and energy that completes the aspects of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, item discrimination, and distractor effectiveness and maps students' critical thinking skills. The type of research used is quantitative research with the Research and Development method using the Tjeerd Plomp educational design research model integrated with the ADDIE development model with 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instrument developed consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. The test sheet consists of multiple-choice physics test items arranged based on critical thinking indicators according to Facione. The results of the content validation test, according to material, construction, and language experts, obtained an average value of 0.97 with a high validity category. The validation results using the Cohen Kappa formula obtained a Kappa value of 0.63 with a "strong" category. Data analysis using the Microsoft Excel application. The results of the small class test obtained 75% valid items, high reliability with a value of 0.82, 50% moderate difficulty level, 60% of the category item discrimination was sufficient with an average of 0.38, and 85% of the effectiveness of the good category distractor. The results of the large class test obtained 80% valid items, medium reliability with a value of 0.62, 70% of the difficulty level of the medium category, the average item discrimination of 0.32 categories was sufficient, and 95% of items with good category distractor effectiveness.. The final results of the development of Critical Thinking test instruments on Business and Energy materials at PAB 8 Saentis Private High School using the ADDIE model R&D method amounted to 16 test items with the categories of valid, moderate reliability, good differentiation, moderate difficulty level, and good distractor effectiveness. Abstract

This paper explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and inclusive education, focusing on how AI technologies support learning for students with disabilities. AI-driven tools, such as intelligent tutoring systems, speech-to-text applications, and text-to-speech readers, offer personalized, adaptive, and accessible learning experiences. These tools enhance academic engagement and foster independence for students with cognitive, sensory, or physical disabilities. A systematic literature review of recent studies (2020–September 2025) was conducted, analyzing research from the fields of education, health, and technology to identify trends, benefits, and challenges. The review reveals growing interdisciplinary interest; key results indicate that while AI enhances student engagement and independence, significant challenges remain. The paper concludes that AI, when developed responsibly and used collaboratively, has the potential to transform inclusive education, but requires supportive policies, ethical frameworks, and equitable access. The findings emphasize the central role of teachers in guiding AI implementation and interpreting its outputs. It is concluded that AI has vast potential to transform inclusive education, but realizing this requires supportive policies, robust ethical frameworks, and equitable access, ensuring teachers remain central to the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of teaching skills of prospective physics teachers in Unimed Physics Education Study Program. The research method used is classroom action research method with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model by applying project-based learning model in microteaching course. The research stages consist of planning, action, observation and reflection.  The research subjects were 2020 batch students who took microteaching courses in the even semester of 2022/2023 year academic as many as 10 people. This research consists of 3 cycles with 2 meetings in each cycle. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, teaching skills assessment rubrics and learning observation sheets. Data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires and direct observation of learning activities carried out by prospective teacher students. Data analysis techniques were carried out with gain test analysis. The average score of prospective teachers' teaching skills at the time of cycle 1 was 36.9 in the very unskilled category, to 81.6 in the skilled category in cycle 3, experiencing an increase in scores from cycle 1 to cycle 3 with an N-gain score = 0.7 in the moderate category.  Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that project-based learning in microteaching courses can improve the teaching skills of prospective physics teachers in microteaching courses.

Abstract

The implementation of learning in Indonesian primary education remains predominantly cognitive-oriented, while affective dimensions are insufficiently integrated into instructional system design. This condition creates a gap between the objectives of character education and actual classroom practices. This study aimed to design an affective-integrated instructional system based on the Pancasila Student Profile through a Design-Based Research (DBR) approach. The study was conducted at UPT SDN 066652 Medan Helvetia involving 44 fifth-grade students. The research employed four iterative stages: analysis, design, implementation, and revision. Data were collected through classroom observation, interviews, instructional document analysis, reflective journals, and affective assessment instruments. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain analysis, while qualitative data were analyzed using reflective thematic analysis. The findings revealed that the instructional system developed in this study explicitly integrated cognitive and affective domains into all instructional components, including learning objectives, contextual and collaborative learning activities, reflective learning processes, and authentic affective assessment. The instructional system facilitated the development of cooperation, independence, creativity, critical reasoning, communication confidence, and social responsibility aligned with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. The implementation process also transformed classroom interaction from teacher-centered instruction into collaborative and reflective learning experiences. The study generated several instructional design principles emphasizing contextual learning, value internalization, reflective interaction, collaborative engagement, and continuous affective assessment. The findings indicate that Design-Based Research provides an effective framework for developing holistic instructional systems integrating cognitive and affective learning dimensions in primary education.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di era Industri 4.0 dan Society 5.0 telah membawa pengaruh besar terhadap praktik pendidikan, khususnya dalam integrasi sumber belajar digital. Artikel literatur review ini membahas potensi penggunaan e-modul fisika berbasis STEM dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, terutama pada materi fluida. Kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi pendekatan STEM dalam bahan ajar digital dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, literasi sains, dan pemahaman konsep siswa. E-modul yang berbasis STEM mampu menyediakan lingkungan belajar yang interaktif, kontekstual, serta kaya media yang mendukung pembelajaran mandiri. Tingginya kepemilikan smartphone di kalangan siswa menjadikan e-modul sebagai media yang mudah diakses dan menarik. Sementara itu, modul cetak konvensional dinilai kurang interaktif dan tidak responsif terhadap kebutuhan pembelajaran modern. Review ini juga mengidentifikasi adanya kesenjangan penelitian terkait pengembangan dan pengujian efektivitas e-modul berbasis STEM khususnya pada materi fluida di jenjang pendidikan menengah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa integrasi STEM dalam e-modul memiliki prospek menjanjikan dalam transformasi pembelajaran fisika, dan disarankan adanya studi lanjutan secara empiris untuk mengoptimalkan model desain yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen tes literasi sains model PISA pada materi Optik untuk siswa SMA guna meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains, yang masih rendah berdasarkan hasil PISA. Metode penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan Borg & Gall dengan tahapan potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi, revisi, uji coba produk, serta analisis butir soal. Instrumen divalidasi oleh ahli dan diujicobakan pada siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 11 Medan. Hasil validasi menunjukkan skor keidealan rata-rata 88,7% (sangat valid). Uji coba kelompok kecil menghasilkan 30 soal valid (78,9%) dan kelompok besar 28 soal valid (93,3%). Reliabilitas tes sangat tinggi (α = 0,802). Analisis butir soal meliputi tingkat kesukaran (20% sukar, 40% sedang, 40% mudah), daya pembeda (40% sangat baik, 46,7% baik), dan efektivitas pengecoh (93,3% berfungsi maksimal). Sebanyak 25 soal (83,3%) memenuhi kriteria kualitas baik, sementara 3 soal (10%) perlu perbaikan, dan 2 soal (6,7%) ditolak. Instrumen ini layak digunakan untuk mengukur literasi sains siswa dan dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes berbasis laboratorium untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada pokok bahasan gerak parabola. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) dalam mengembangkan instrumen. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI di salah satu MAN di Kota Medan. Pengujian validasi isi dilakukan oleh 2 validator ahli untuk menguji aspek materi, konstruksi, dan bahasa. Validitas butir soal yang diperoleh adalah sebanyak 8 soal valid dengan reliabilitas sangat tinggi yaitu 0.868, daya beda 6 dari 8 diterima dan tingkat kesukaran sedang sebanyak 7 soal dan 1 soal sukar. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan pada instrumen tes yang dikembangkan, diketahui tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa tergolong pada kategori baik dengan indikator menganalisis data 67%, mengevaluasi metode 46%, menganalisis kesimpulan 67%, dan mengusulkan langkah selanjutnya 65%.  Kata Kunci: instrumen tes, berpikir kritis, berbasis laboratorium.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan instrumen tes pembelajaran fisika berbasis analogi pada materi gelombang bunyi yang mampu mengukur pemahaman konseptual siswa secara lebih akurat terhadap konsep yang bersifat abstrak. Pemahaman konsep merupakan kemampuan penting yang harus dimiliki siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika, khususnya pada materi gelombang bunyi yang bersifat abstrak dan kompleks. Namun, proses evaluasi pembelajaran fisika di sekolah masih didominasi oleh soal-soal matematis sehingga belum mampu mengukur pemahaman konsep dan Penalaran siswa secara mendalam. Salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep abstrak adalah analogi, karena mampu menghubungkan konsep fisika dengan fenomena yang lebih konkret dan dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes berbasis analogi guna mengukur pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi gelombang bunyi di SMA Negeri 7 Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model Plomp yang meliputi tahap analisis, pengembangan prototipe, dan tahap penilaian. Instrumen tes dikembangkan dalam bentuk soal uraian berbasis analogi yang mengacu pada indikator berpikir analogi menurut Sternberg, yaitu encoding, inferring, mapping, dan applying, serta indikator pemahaman konsep berdasarkan taksonomi bloom revisi. Instrumen yang dihasilkan terdiri atas tiga butir soal yang dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi prakonsepsi, kesalahan konsep, serta tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, reliabel, serta layak digunakan berdasarkan analisis validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya beda. Instrumen mampu mengidentifikasi prakonsepsi, kesalahan konsep, serta tingkat pemahaman siswa yang masih berada pada kategori rendah hingga sedang. Respon siswa juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan analogi membantu memahami konsep gelombang bunyi secara lebih bermakna. Dengan demikian, instrumen tes berbasis analogi dapat menjadi alternatif evaluasi pembelajaran fisika yang lebih efektif dan kontekstual.

Abstract

Pendidikan di wilayah 3T (terdepan, terluar, dan tertinggal) masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti keterbatasan akses teknologi, minimnya media pembelajaran, dan rendahnya kemampuan literasi siswa. Sebagian besar inovasi pendidikan saat ini lebih berorientasi pada teknologi tinggi sehingga sulit diterapkan pada sekolah-sekolah di daerah terpencil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem pembelajaran low-tech berbasis tradisi tutur lokal melalui storytelling komunitas pada pembelajaran bahasa siswa sekolah dasar di daerah 3T. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Design-Based Research (DBR) yang terdiri atas tahap analisis masalah, desain sistem, implementasi, serta evaluasi dan revisi desain. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan refleksi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa storytelling komunitas mampu menjadi sistem pembelajaran bahasa yang kontekstual, murah, adaptif, dan relevan dengan kehidupan siswa. Pembelajaran berbasis tradisi tutur lokal tidak hanya meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara dan menyimak siswa, tetapi juga memperkuat identitas budaya dan keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pendidikan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan prinsip desain pembelajaran low-tech berbasis budaya yang dapat diterapkan pada berbagai konteks pendidikan di wilayah 3T.
