Abstract

Introduction: Long-acting and permanent methods of contraception (LAPMs) are known as highly-effective contraception. The Department of Health of East Java Province stated that LAPM participation is still below target. One of the factors is the Interpersonal Communication (IPC) skill of the Health Practitioners. This study aimed to identify the influence of health lectures using media and peer-education on the knowledge and attitude of pregnant women regarding LAPMs. Peer-education is the novelty of this study. Methods: A two-group quasi experimental design was applied with all of the pregnant women at Kesugihan Public Health Center (PHC) as the treatment group. They were given lectures with media inclusion (contraception booklets and visual aids) and peer-education during a pregnancy class. Pregnant women at Ngebel PHC were the control group. One woman who had experience with LAMPs was trained as a peer-educator. Thirty participants in each group were chosen using the total sampling technique. The data collected was analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses by applying the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: The participants showed an increased knowledge before and after the intervention in the treatment group (83%), while in control group, it was slightly increased (1%). Attitude differences were also found in both groups (treatment = 56.7%, control = 13.3%). The Mann-Whitney test resulted in significant differences on knowledge (p <0.001) and attitude (p = 0.016) between the two groups. Conclusion: The local department of health may optimize IPC using media and peer-education to improve the knowledge and attitude of pregnant women regarding LAPM participation.

Abstract

Introduction: This study was conducted to show that early prevention and treatment of cervical cancer can save on treatment costs. Cervical cancer is one of the biggest threats to women's health. This is related to the low awareness of women who have had active sexual relations in carrying out early detection of cervical cancer so that it can increase the incidence of cervical cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and client satisfaction on IVA service satisfaction by public health center officers. Methods: This study used an observational analytic study with a retrospective cohort design. The sample size used was 70 respondents with the same distribution in each control group and the exposed group, each using 35 respondents. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling. Univariate analysis using Chi-Square test. Bivariate analysis using Spearman correlation test. Results: The results of Univariate analysis in the control group and the exposed group showed that age (p= 0.4), education (p= 0.136), occupation (p= 0.622), length of marriage (p= 0.073), number of sexual partners (p= 0.073). = 0.602) and the number of children (p = 0.151). The results of bivariate analysis showed that husband's support (p= 0.735), mother's support (p= 0.984), health cadre support (p= 0.320) and peer support (p= 0.725). There is no relationship/correlation between social support and service satisfaction. Conclusion: There are other factors that can affect the satisfaction of women of childbearing age with early detection of cervical cancer (VIA) apart from social support.

Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the performance of several sectors, one of which is the quality of maternal and child health services. One of the factors contributing to the decline in the quality of maternal and child health services is limited access during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telemedicine is here as one of the answers to overcome the problem of limited access to health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze the use of telemedicine applications by pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic using the ISO 9241-11 framework. Subjects and Method: This research method is an observational study with a descriptive approach to analyze usability in three measurement aspects namely effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The number of samples used was 42 pregnant women who had used telemedicine applications that had been determined during the COVID-19 period with a sampling technique using random sampling. The instrument used is an adaptation of the Standardized Usability Questionnaire (SUQ) which will be analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) technique to determine the usability score of the application. Results: Based on the results of the Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis, the ISO 9241-11 model has a goodness-of-fit model with an R-square value of 0.760 and a Q-square value of 0.577 with a Goodness of Fit (GoF) of 0.780. The effectiveness variable has a significant effect on the usability variable of the Teman Bumil application at a significance level of 5% with a statistical T value of 1,955. There is not enough evidence for the efficiency and satisfaction variables to say they have a significant effect on the usability of the Teman Bumil application at a 5% significance level with T-statistic values of 0.866 and 1.452. The usability score for the Friends Pregnant application is 44.45. Conclusion: The usability score obtained by the Teman Bumil application is 44.45, which means that Sahabat Bumil application has not been accepted by users as a system product that can help effectively, efficiently and satisfactorily.
