Abstract

Hypertensive elderly influences body balance that affects their ability to mobilize. Therefore, this condition can improve a risk for falling. The aimed of this study was to analyzed the relationship between mobilization ability and risk for fall among elderly with hypertension in Tresna Werdha Social Services (PSTW) Bondowoso. A cross sectional design was conducted among 47 elderly using total sampling. A self-administered questionnaire was used to measure sociodemographic of elderly, while Elderly Mobility Scale (EMS) was performed to measure mobilization ability and Morse Falls Scale was performed to measure risk for fall. The relationship mobilization ability and risk for fall was analysed using Chi Square test. The result showed that among 47 elderly were 49,8% of independent and 46,8% of low risk for falling. There were significantly relationship between mobilization ability and risk for fall (X2 = 14,674; p = 0.001). The conclusion of this study, there is a relationship between mobilization ability and risk of fall among elderly. Therefore, elderly should be active in physical activities to reduce the risk of falling.

Abstract

Elderly with hypertension have a higher of anxiety. Mental condition influence sleep patterns of elderly. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differenced anxiety and sleep patterns among elderly with hypertension and non-hypertension in nursing home (UPT PSTW) of Banyuwangi. A case-control design was used among 51 elderly (18 of control groups and 33 of case groups) using purposive sampling. A Geriatric Anxiety Inventory questionnaire was used to measure anxiety score of elderly, while Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire was used to measure sleep pattern. Chi-square test was used to analyze relationship between anxiety and sleep patterns among elderly with hypertension and non-hypertension. The results showed there were 57.6% of elderly with systolic hypertension having anxiety and 75.8% of elderly with systolic hypertension having poor sleep patterns. There were significantly differenced anxiety and sleep patterns between control and case groups (p<0,05). However, level of anxiety and level of sleep pattern were more higher in case group compare to control groups (p<0,05). The conclusion of this study, there is differenced anxiety and sleep patterns among elderly with hypertension and non hypertension. Therefore, elderly should more adaptive for mentainance of stressor and avoiding anxiety to reduce sleep disorder.

Abstract

The aging process which happens in elder people has effects on blood pressure. The well maintenance of blood pressure will impact on elder people’s daily activities, included in increasing spirituality. This is the one factor which can control over blood pressure. This research uses cross sectional design with purposive sampling method which had been implemented for 70 elder people and got 33 respondents. Data were collected by giving questionnaire such as elder people charactheristic, Daily Spiritual Experimental Scale (DSES) and Sphygnomanometer used to measure blood pressure. Chi-Square Test by 0,05 significance values is examined as data analysis. The result indicates that the average value of spirituality level is Md 39 + 36-47,5 and the average value of blood pressure level is 160,52 systole and 97,09 diastole. Thus, the results also reveals relationship betwen spirituality level and blood pressure (p value 0,002). This study significance shows that the higher level of spirituality is, the easily elder people manage blood pressure. Therefore, elder people living in nursing home should increase the spirituality level or their religion to control blood pressure.

Abstract

Burnout was combination of the physical, psychological, and emotional exhaustion. The differences of job schedules arrangement make each nurses has different duration when giving services. The differences had various effects on their condition of burnout. The goal of this study was analyzed the various burnout of nurses in inpatient room with 2 shift/day and 3 shift/day in Baladhika Husada Hospital and Kalisat Regional Hospital in Jember Regency. The differences of job schedule arrangement causes the duration of nurses’ shift were different. The differences of the duration could leads various burnout happens to nurses. This study was non experimental study with cross sectional study design. Researchers used comparative analysis to compare two groups of independent variables.This study used 60 samples of nurse which used consecutive sampling. The results of Mann Whitney showed p value = 0,683 (p value > α) so, it concluded that there was no differences in burnout of nurses in inpatients’ room with 2 shift/day and 3 shift/day in Baladika Husada hospital and Kalisat regional hospital Jember Regency. It could be influenced by many factors. The factors were workload, competence culture, and motivation. This research recommended the hospital attempted to reduce or minimize burnout by applied good managerial system. Keywords : burnout, work shift, nurses

Abstract

Every problem of psychiatric nursing that may occur in seclusion of people with chronic mental health illness (ODGJ) is self-care. Self-care is one of the basic human abilities to meet his needs in order to survive, be healthy and be prosperous in accordance with the health condition. Family is an important part in motivating during the care and in treatment of ODGJ. This research aimed to describe the family experience in meeting the need of self-care in ODGJ by seclusion. The research used qualitative design with phenomenological study approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and snowball sampling. This research experienced a data saturation in the sixth participant, so the number of participants in this research was 6 people. The results found 12 research themes, that is, the fulfillments of self-care in: eating, air, bathing, hair cutting, dressing, defecation, rest and sleep, drinking and social interaction, inability to fulfill the task of development ODGJ, the implementation of seclusion on ODGJ and therapy for ODGJ. The need of ODGJ’s self-care by seclusion can be met by active role of family, community and health services for treatment.   Keywords: family, self-care treatment, people with chronic mental health illness (ODGJ) with seclusion

Abstract

Human milk is the best nutrition for infant. Breastfeed adolescent mothers are population that needsspecial treatment to keep breastfeeding successfully. This study explored breastfeeding activity byadolescent mother in 0-6 month infant in Karangbayat Village Sumberbaru Sub-District JemberRegency. The research used qualitative design with phenomenological approach. Data saturationhas been reached on the sixth participant. Data was analyzed by Colaizzi method. The result found 8themes: kind of feeling, the level of feelings, causes of feeling, the kind of breastfeeding behavior,causes of non exclusive breastfeeding behavior,the sources of non exclusive breastfeedingbehavior, support factor and the belief factor. To improve exclusive breastfeeding among adolescentmother, this study suggest, health care provider must give breastfeeding counseling and education inprenatal care with family participation, a specially grandmother.Keywords: adolescent mothers, breastfeeding, qualitative study

Abstract

Bounding attachment is very important for newborn to be adapted to the new environment. Mother’stouch can help babies adapt to environmental differences between inside the womb and outside thewomb. How to improve the bounding attachment is early breastfeeding initiation, rooming in,kangaroo mother care for premature, and baby massage. The purpose of this research is todetermine the impact of baby massage to bounding attachment. The method of research was quasiexperimental with design of research pretest-post test with control group. This research is in Dahliaroom in dr. Soebandi general Hospital, with samples as 40 respondent with 20 people forexperimental group and 20 people for control group. The research use standard operationalprocedure of baby massage and quality of bounding attachment questionnaire. Take the sample bypurposive sampling. The results of research is give difference in average pretest-post test on theexperimental group of -7,35 whereas on the control group of -2,55. Statistic test result obtained the pvalue 0.001, this mean on the alpha 5% can be expressed there is influence of baby massage forbounding attachment. There are several factors that influence to the bounding attachment that isemotional health of parent, family support, the proximity and match of the parents and baby. Theresult of this research are recommended as the nursing treatment and to the public especiallymother postpartum.Keywords : baby massage, bounding attachment

Abstract

Adolescence is a part of group or individual that is were on transition from children to adult and is vulnerable for any problem on themselves and environment problems. The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation of parental monitoring with risky sexual behavior on adolescents in the Puger Kulon Village District Puger of Jember Regency. The type of this research is descriptive analytic using cross sectional approach. Sample of this research is 87 adolescents taken using multistage random sampling technique. Data of parental monitoring and risky sexual behavior is collected using questionnaire instrument already done to validity test and reliability test. The reliability value test of parental monitoringquestionnaire are 0,834 and risky sexual behavior questionnaire are 0,930. Data analyzed using Spearman rank test with confidence level 95%. The result of this research shows that most of parental monitoring is 57 (65%) less precise, while 22 (25,3%) parental monitoring is unappropiate. Independent variable result shows 61 adolescents (70,1%) have moderate sexual behavior risk and 1 adolescent (1,1%) have high risk of sexual behavior. Analysis result shows there’s no significant correlation between parental monitoring with risky sexual behavior on adolescents with p value 0,158 (p>0,05). Its caused by parental monitoring as one of factor that can changed when the environment adolescent doesn’t support and which is very influence the adolesence behavior against their peers. This research recomended to indicate the important of having deep assasment of another factors that is influence risky sexual behavior on adolescent. Keywords : Parental Monitoring, Risky Sexual Behavior, Adolescents

Abstract

Green Tobacco Sickness (GTS) suffered by the tobacco leaf pickers who have direct contact withwet tobacco leaves. The method used to increase the knowledge and attitude of the use of personalprotective equipment in order to prevent the occurrence of green tobacco sickness is a learningmodel of active learning on the tobacco farmers. The research objective was to analyze the effect ofactive learning teaching model to the knowledge and attitude of the use of personal protectiveequipment in the prevention of green tobacco sickness among tobacco farmers in the villagePlalangan Kalisat District of Jember. The study design used pre-experimental approach one grouppretest-posttest design. Total population in the study was 836 tobacco farmers with the total sampleof 30 respondents. Sample was selected by using probability sampling. Research data analysisusing the Wilcoxon test showed differences dn knowledge influences attitudes before and afterintervention with p value = 0,000; CI = 95% of the respondents with the following study model ofactive learning. Research conclusion that there was an influence of active learning teaching modelof knowledge and attitude of the use of personal protective equipment. Community health centersprogram is expected to enable the existing occupational health unit, to undergo its role in providinghealth promotion and prevention of work accidents as an occupational health unit.Keywords: active learning model, knowledge and attitude of the use of PPE, Green tobaccosickness

Abstract

A family has an important role to meet the nutritional intake of toddlers since a family has a full decision to nurture and take care of the toddlers. However, the case of stunting in Jember Regency still has a higher case compared to other regencies. The objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between the implementation of family role and the case of stunting in toddlers in Arjasa Subdistrict, Jember regency. The research also used a cross sectional research design with cluster random sampling technique. The data collection was conducted by providing a FAD (Family Assessment Device) questionnaire used to identify the family roles, while the height was measured by length board and microtoise. The chi-square test was employed to analyze between the variables of family role and stunting case. According to the analysis result of 117 respondents, there were 7.7%, 99% and 7.7% for each category of good, moderate and less in the family role, whereas for the stunting case, there were 76.1% having stunting and 23.9% not stunting. The findings of this research indicated that there was a relationship between the implementation of family role and the stunting case (χ2 = 9.78; p-value = 0.002), in which the implementation of family role in the good category had 7.81 times for a chance of stunting (OR = 7.81; 95% CI = 1.81-33.762). at last, this research showed the importance of improving the family role by involving the family to meet the daily nutritional intake of toddlers so as the stunting case can diminish.
