Abstract

AbstractThis community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of pineapple farmers in Betteng Village, Pamboang District, Majene Regency in managing the local Pamboang pineapple cultivation through environmentally sound and economically empowering approaches. The activities consisted of surveys, socialization, training, and monitoring to strengthen farmers’ understanding of sustainable production management, organic waste handling, business planning, product diversification, and digital-based marketing. Training sessions combined technical demonstrations of compost production from pineapple plant residues with managerial guidance related to enterprise development and market expansion. Quantitative assessments showed a substantial increase in participant knowledge, rising from initial levels to significantly higher levels after the training, accompanied by strong positive perceptions of the program’s relevance and usefulness. Most participants reported direct benefits, improved motivation, and greater confidence to apply sustainable cultivation techniques and explore economic opportunities through processed pineapple products and digital promotion. The program concluded that capacity-building efforts grounded in participatory methods, practical demonstrations, and continuous evaluation can effectively support the sustainability of local pineapple agribusiness and contribute to long-term community welfare. Abstract

This study investigates the effect of proactive personality on career adaptability. A conceptual model is developed to examine the impact of proactive personality on career adaptability, mediated by goal orientation and self-esteem, among Gen Z entrepreneurs in an emerging economy. Data collected from 581 active entrepreneurs in Indonesia were analysed to test the hypothesised relationships. The psychometric properties of the survey instrument were tested using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), and the hypotheses were subsequently tested using a bootstrapping procedure. The results indicate that (a) proactive personality is a significant predictor of both goal orientation and self-esteem, and (b) that both goal orientation and self-esteem significantly mediate the relationship between proactive personality and career adaptability. This study also found that occupational prestige acts as a significant antecedent to both proactive personality and goal orientation. This research has several theoretical and practical implications for academics, policymakers, and entrepreneurship support organisations in emerging economies. This research provides detailed insights into the psychological antecedents of entrepreneurial career sustainability and guides academics and support institutions in shaping the development of young entrepreneurs

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effect of work–life balance (WLB) on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable, in the public-sector context of the Majene Regency Local Government, IndonesiaDesign/Methodology/Approach: Although previous studies have linked Work-Life Balance (WLB) to performance, the existing evidence mostly comes from the private sector, while local government settings are still underexplored. A quantitative survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 90 local government employees selected through stratified probability sampling. The data were analyzed using the measurement model (outer model) in SmartPLS version 3.Findings: The results show that WLB had no significant effect on either job satisfaction or employee performance, whereas job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Because the conditions for mediation were not met, job satisfaction did not mediate the WLB performance relationship. These findings indicate that, in a bureaucratic public-sector environment, the expected benefits of WLB may weaken, while job satisfaction remains a robust predictor of performance.

Abstract

This study examines how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) producing seaweed-based products in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, implement digital marketing strategies, and why a gap persists between their intention to adopt such strategies and their capacity to enact them effectively. Adopting a qualitative, multi-case design, data were gathered from owners and managers of twenty SMEs through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed thematically along four dimensions of digital-marketing competence: accessibility, interactivity, credibility, and informativeness. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) serves as the interpretive lens. The findings reveal a consistent intention implementation gap: although most SMEs recognize the value of digital marketing and intend to use it, many struggle to translate this understanding into practice, particularly in producing accessible content, designing engaging visuals, leveraging marketing websites, and creating educational material. Interpreted through UTAUT, strong performance expectancy and social influence sustain adoption intentions, whereas effort expectancy and weak facilitating conditions constrain effective implementation. The study offers a context-specific account of SME digitalization in an under-researched agro-marine sector and highlights the need for targeted training and ecosystem support to close the implementation gap
