Abstract

This study aims to determine the process and success of poverty alleviation carried out by the North Luwu district government. The data used in this study are cross-section data. The method of determining respondents is by using purposive random sampling which is snowball sampling. The research method used is a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods are observation and direct interviews. The data analysis technique uses QDA (Qualitative Data Analysis) which is divided into 4 important processes, namely, data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions (verification). The results of the study show that the main cause of poverty in North Luwu district is due to lack of income to meet basic needs such as food, housing, education and health, to meet these needs will always be related to spending. The largest expenditure comes from non-food expenditures, namely in housing and household facilities or the highest of all components of non-food needs of a household. Therefore, the government provides "house renovation" assistance through the BSPS program to poor people who have uninhabitable houses. In addition, other assistance such as BPNT, PKH and PBI are also given in cash to people who are categorized as poor in North Luwu Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting inflation in Indonesia and Singapore in the period 2000-2023 using a comparative approach. A quantitative approach was used, employing time series data from the World Bank, BPS (Statistics of Indonesia), and the Singapore Department of Statistics. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression to determine the effect of independent variables (quantity of money, interest rate, exchange rate, and economic growth) and dependent variables (inflation) simultaneously and partially. The results of this study show that independent variables have a simultaneous effect on dependent variables in Indonesia, while in Singapore, they do not. Meanwhile, in part, the quantity of money has a significant negative effect on inflation in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in part, the exchange rate has a negative and significant effect on inflation in Singapore. A comparison of the coefficients and adj. R² values reveal a higher level of sensitivity of inflation to quantitative monetary policy in Indonesia, while Singapore shows inflation resilience through a policy framework centered on exchange rates. These results confirm the differences in the structure and effectiveness of monetary policy, as well as their implications for the formulation of price stabilization strategies in both countries.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of infrastructure in promoting economic growth through a qualitative literature study approach. Good infrastructure is recognized as a key factor in economic development, especially in developing countries, where accessibility and efficiency are often hampered by a lack of basic facilities. This study collects and analyzes various literature sources including scientific journals, books, and policy reports to identify how infrastructure, such as transportation, energy, and telecommunications, affect economic growth. Findings from the literature show that investments in infrastructure not only improve economic efficiency and productivity, but also contribute to reducing social and economic inequality by expanding access to markets and employment opportunities. However, challenges such as resource constraints, inefficient project management and corruption often hinder the success of infrastructure projects. This study also identifies gaps in the existing literature and provides recommendations for further research and policies that can improve the effectiveness of infrastructure development. The results of this study are expected to provide greater insight into how effective infrastructure strategies can contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

Abstract

Economic development issues are unavoidable for any country, including Indonesia, particularly in the Province of South Sulawesi. One persistent challenge is income inequality. This phenomenon occurs at various levels, including disparities between urban and rural areas, across regencies/municipalities, and among regions within South Sulawesi. Such inequality reflects a gap in income distribution that must be addressed seriously to achieve more inclusive and equitable regional development. This study aims to analyze the effects of economic growth, unemployment rate, and Human Development Index (HDI) on income inequality in South Sulawesi Province during the period 2014–2023. The method employed is panel data regression analysis, combining cross-sectional data from 24 regencies/municipalities and time series data over ten years. Data processing was carried out using EViews 12. The findings reveal that economic growth and unemployment rate variables have a negative but statistically insignificant relationship with income inequality. Conversely, the Human Development Index has a statistically significant negative effect, with a p-value of 0.0000, on income disparity in the region.
