Abstract

Smallholder quail farms often face limitations in providing high-quality feed that can improve both productivity and nutritional quality of eggs, particularly in enhancing essential fatty acids such as omega-3. Bali sardinella (Sardinella lemuru) fish oil is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and holds potential as a dietary supplement to enhance egg nutritional value. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of S. lemuru fish oil supplementation in feed on egg production and fatty acid profile of laying quails under smallholder farming conditions. A randomized block design was applied with four treatments: T0 (0% LFO), T1 (2% LFO), T2 (4% LFO), and T3 (6% LFO), each with two replications and 50 adult female quails per unit. The results showed that S. lemuru fish oil supplementation had no significant effect on egg weight, egg length, viscosity, yolk diameter and height, or other physical egg parameters. However, T3 significantly reduced egg production. The 2% LFO treatment (T1) resulted in the highest crude protein content in the feed and relatively better performance and physical egg quality. The fatty acid profile of eggs was dominated by oleic, palmitic, and linoleic acids, with omega-3 levels increasing in line with higher LFO doses. These findings suggest that 2% S. lemuru fish oil supplementation is suitable for smallholder quail farming to improve egg quality without significantly increasing production costs.

Abstract

Kemasan edible film merupakan pengemasan yang tepat untuk mempertahankan kualitas bahan pangan dan memperpanjang umur simpan produk. Edible film berbentuk lapisan tipis yang terbuat dari bahan biopolimer yang aman untuk dikonsumsi serta dapat diurai oleh mikroba.  Penambahan senyawa aktif tanaman rempah berupa antimikroba mampu menghambat pertumbuhan mikroba patogen dan memperbaiki sifat fisik edible film. Penulisan ini dlakukan berdasarkan hasil penelitian terkait senyawa aktif tanaman rempah dan potensinya terhadap kemasan edible film antimikroba, serta tantangan pengembangannya. Metode yang digunakan berupa kajian literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber kajian literatur dikumpulkan melalui unduhan dari database utama yaitu google scholar, research gate, dan science direct dengan rentang tahun terbit jurnal dari 2006 sampai 2022 yang sumber isinya dapat dipertanggungjawabkan dan relevan dengan penelitian atau kajian yang dilakukan. Proses penyeleksian menghasilkan 11 pustaka sesuai kriteria yang memuat edible film antimikroba. Senyawa penyusun edible film berupa senyawa makromolekul alami seperti polisakarida, protein, atau lipid sedangkan senyawa aktif tanaman rempah sebagai zat antimikroba seperti, kunyit putih, lengkuas, daun beluntas, pinang, kayu manis, jahe merah dan bawang putih. zat antimikroba ini mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri E.coli dan S.aureus. Potensinya terhadap edible film antimikroba terbukti mampu menghasilkan karakteristik edible film yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan JIS (1975) dan mampu mencegah kerusakan bahan pangan dimana terdapat zona hambat terhadap bakteri serta memperpanjnag umur simpan bahan pangan. Pemanfaatan edible film secara komersial belum banyak dikembangkan, meskipun jumlah produk olahan minimal meningkat di pasar modern. Beberapa kendala yang dihadapi dalam pengaplikasian edible film antimikroba adalah penambahan zat antimikroba, plastisizer dan bahan tambahan lainnya yang kurang tepat berdampak pada karakteristik edible film yang dihasilkan. Selain itu, Setiap bahan pangan memiliki sifat yang berbeda-beda sehingga membutuhkan informasi yang lebih banyak dalam pengaplikasiannya.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Terpadu ini terkenal dengan sebutan KKN Era New Normal, Dalam program KKN yang dilaksanakan di Desa Sadeng, Kecamatan Gunungpati, kota Semarang ini, mahasiswa diharapkan dapat menggali permasalahan dan potensi desa dari segi kebencanaan dan membantu seperangkat warga desa membangun desa Sadeng sebagai Desa Tanggap Bencana. Pada dasarnya, desa Sadeng ini telah terkenal sebagai daerah rawan longsor dan erosi. Berdasarkan perihal inilah, kelompok KKN Desa Sadeng ini mengangkat judul Mewujudkan Desa Resilient melalui Literasi Kebencanaan berbasis identitas budaya lokal: Pemeliharaan Lingkungan Rawan Longsor Dan Erosi Melalui Kegiatan Reboisasi Bibit Tanaman Berdaya Jual dengan masih memanfaatkan potensi wirausaha dan wisata di atas sebagai program kerja tambahan bagi kelompok KKN Terpadu Desa Sadeng.

Abstract

The availability of forage as the primary feed for ruminant livestock often fluctuates due to seasonal changes, particularly in smallholder farming systems. This situation is notably evident in the Cireban Jaya Farmers Group located in Kaduengang Village, where farmers struggle to meet forage needs during the dry season. In response to this problem, a community service program was conducted to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in forage preservation by introducing silage-making techniques. The activity involved a series of methods, including socialization to raise awareness, group discussions to facilitate knowledge exchange, and practical demonstrations on how to process forage into silage. The silage was prepared using a mixture of fresh forage, rice bran, molasses, and EM4 as a fermentation starter. Through hands-on experience, farmers learned to identify characteristics of successful silage fermentation, which include a brownish color, a distinct sour aroma, and a compact texture. The silage produced was tested on local sheep, and results indicated positive acceptance after a short adaptation period. This confirms that silage can be an effective alternative feed solution during periods of forage scarcity and nutritional stress. The outcomes of the program revealed increased farmer competence in feed processing and a more resilient approach to livestock feeding. Moreover, the initiative helped reduce the dependence on seasonal forage availability, contributing to the sustainability of small-scale livestock farming. The training also encouraged collaboration among farmers, promoted local innovation, and supported the development of feed preservation strategies tailored to community needs. Overall, the training significantly enhanced local farmers’ capacity to manage feed resources efficiently, ensuring better productivity and animal welfare, particularly in areas prone to seasonal feed shortages and unpredictable climate conditions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited use of concrete and interactive learning media in IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) instruction, which has led to low student understanding of the concept of administrative region levels in grade 3. Therefore, this study aims to examine the implementation of concrete media in the form of a territorial diorama at SDN Sungai Miai 4 Banjarmasin. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the diorama media effectively enhances student engagement and comprehension by providing a concrete and contextual visualization of regional structures from the neighborhood (RT) level up to the provincial level . Students became more enthusiastic, actively engaged in discussions, and were able to explain the concepts more accurately. Challenges identified include space limitations and the maintenance of physical media. Nonetheless, the diorama proved to be an effective solution for meaningful IPAS learning, especially for lower-grade students who require concrete approaches suited to their cognitive development stage

Abstract

Pakan merupakan komponen biaya terbesar dalam usaha peternakan, berkontribusi hingga 60-80% dari total biaya produksi. Penyuluhan ini betujuan untuk miningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai Talas Beneng sebagai tanaman umbi lokal khas Provinsi Banten yang memiliki potensi tinggi sebagai sumber pakan ternak. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan pada masyarakat kelompok tani Setia Kawan dan Kelompok Wanita Tani Matahari, Desa Baros, Kecamatan Baros, Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten pada 10 Juli 2025. Kegiatan diawali dengan pelaksanaan pre test pada 33 orang anggota kelompok tani Setia Kawan dan Kelompok Wanita Tani Matahari untuk menguji tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat. Materi diberikan secara oral dan diskusi dengan kelompok tani mengenai potensi talas beneng untuk dikembangkan dan limbahnya sebagai pakan ternak. Hasil pre test menunjukan bahwa seluruh masyarakat belum mengetahui tentang potensi talas beneng sebagai umbi khas provinsi Banten, cara pengolahannya, praktik pemberian, dan manfaat talas beneng. Hasil post test menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat telah mengetahui potensi talas beneng (93.94%) sebagai umbi khas provinsi Banten (87.88%) untuk pakan ternak (93.94%), memahami bagian talas beneng yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan (100%), cara pengolahannya (60.61%), praktik pemberian (3.03%), dan manfaat talas beneng (96.97%). Sebanyak 96.97% masyarakat tertarik untuk menggunakan talas beneng sebagai pakan ternak dan perlunya sosialisasi lanjutan tentang pengolahan dan pemanfaatannya. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat meningkatkan pengetahuan kelompok Tani Setia Kawan dan Kelompok Wanita Tani Matahari terkait potensi talas beneng sebagai pakan ternak.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health is a growing concern worldwide, yet evidence from Indonesia remains limited. This study examined the prevalence of mental health issues among secondary school students in Surabaya using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). A cross-sectional survey was conducted across four schools, involving 167 junior and senior high school students. Participants self-reported emotional symptoms, conduct problems, hyperactivity/inattention, peer relationship difficulties, and prosocial behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests to explore differences across gender, age, school type, and school level. Findings revealed that 24.6% of students were at substantial risk of mental health difficulties. In contrast, 70.7% of students were unlikely to experience clinically significant problems, and only 1.8% were at risk of low prosocial behavior. Female students reported higher total difficulty scores but also demonstrated greater prosocial behavior compared to males. Additionally, students in public schools showed higher levels of prosocial behavior than those in private schools.

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca permulaan sangat penting dimiliki oleh peserta didik sekolah dasar untuk memahami dan menguasai materi pembelajaran di tahap selanjutnya, serta meyuarakan teks tulisan dengan aksen yang tepat. Namun, kemampuan tersebut masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan kesulitan yang dihadapi guru saat mengajar membaca permulaan anak-anak di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan karena untuk mengetahui masalah membaca permulaan dan kebutuhan model pembelajaran case method berbasis kontekstual lingkungan yang digunakan untuk mengoptimalkan kecakapan membaca permulaan Metode kualitatif fenomologi merupakan pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah guru kelas I dan II sekolah dasar. Teknik pengambilan data yang dilakukan menggunakan wawancara. Model analisis model jalinan atau mengalir merupakan teknik analisis yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kesulitan peserta didik dalam membaca permulaan berupa kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi huruf, mengeja, dan melafalkan fonem. Penelitian ini dapat berkontribusi dalam peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan, pengembangan kemampuan literasi, dan kemampuan abad 21.

Abstract

يُعَدُّ تعلّمُ اللغة العربية أحدَ مقررات اللغات الأجنبية في المدارس، ولا يستطيع إلّا عددٌ قليل من الطلاب إتقانَها، سواء في مهارة الكتابة أو القراءة. وتتمثّلُ أبرزُ ضعفٍ لدى الطلاب عمومًا في قلّة المفردات، في حين أنَّ إتقان المفردات في تعلّم اللغة العربية يُعَدُّ أمرًا مهمًا لدعم الكفاءة اللغوية. لذلك، ولتسهيل تعلّم الطلاب وفهمهم للمفردات، تَتطلّب العملية التعليمية وجود وسيلة تساعد على تدريبهم وتعليمهم المفردات، ومن بين هذه الوسائل استخدام لعبة Scrabble. تُعَدُّ لعبة Scrabble وسيلة تُستخدم لتنمية المهارات اللغوية، ومنها مهارة إتقان المفردات. وللعبة Scrabble عدّة فوائد، من بينها زيادة الحصيلة اللغوية، لأنّ الطلاب يُطلَب منهم في هذه اللعبة ترتيبُ الحروف لتكوين المفردات، مما يساعدهم على تذكّر الكلمات بشكلٍ أفضل. هذا البحث هو بحثٌ وصفيّ ذو منهجٍ نوعي. وقد شملتْ عَيِّنَةُ البحث طلابَ الصف السابع (VII A) في مدرسة MTs Negeri 5 Jember. وتُظهِر نتائجُ البحث أن الوسائل التعليمية التي يستخدمها المعلّمون في تعليم اللغة العربية هي الكتب المدرسية وجهاز العرض (LCD). أمّا تطبيق وسيلة Scrabble فيتمّ من خلال تقسيم الطلاب إلى مجموعات عدّة، بحيث يحصل كلّ فريق على مجموعة من الحروف، ثم يطلب الباحث من الطلاب لصق الحروف على لوحة Scrabble التي أعدّها مسبقًا. وتُشير نتائجُ تطبيق وسيلة التعلّم باستخدام Scrabble إلى أن طلاب الصف VII A في MTs Negeri 5 Jember أصبحوا يمتلكون حصيلةً أكبر من المفردات، وتمكّنوا من زيادة عدد المفردات التي يعرفونها، كما أصبحوا قادرين على تذكّر المفردات بشكلٍ جيّد. Learning Arabic is one of the foreign language subjects at school and only a few students are able to master Arabic, even in written and reading form. The weakness of students in general is the lack of vocabulary. Meanwhile, mastery of vocabulary in learning Arabic is very important to support language proficiency. Therefore, to make it easier for students to learn and understand vocabulary, a medium is needed to train and teach the vocabulary, one of which is by using Scrabble. Scrabble is a medium used to develop language skills, one of which is vocabulary mastery. The Scrabble game has several benefits, one of which is increasing vocabulary because in this game students are required to arrange letters to form vocabulary so that students are able to remember vocabulary well. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The research objects were students in class VII A of MTs Negeri 5 Jember. The results of this research show that the media used by teachers in learning Arabic are textbooks and LCD. The implementation of Scrabble media is carried out by dividing students into several groups, each group gets a letter. Then the researcher instructed the students to stick the letters on the Scrabble board that had been prepared by the researcher. The results of the application of Scrabble learning media show that class VII A MTs Negeri 5 Jember masters more vocabulary and can increase their vocabulary and are able to remember vocabulary words well.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media application based on Articulate Storyline 3 in Arabic language learning as a solution to the low motivation and involvement of students due to the learning media used is still predominantly conventional in MAN Lumajang. The type of research used by researchers is research and development (RD). The development research is a research method that aims to produce a certain product. The research and development method is a scientific method used to research, design, create and test the validity of a product that has been created. In this development research, researchers used the four D model development model (4-D Model). The results of this study are validation from material experts showing a validity level of 85.2% and from media experts 89.6%, both of which are included in the very valid and very feasible category, although they require some revisions. Thus, this media is feasible to be used as an innovative alternative in the Arabic language learning process and is expected to increase student motivation and learning outcomes through a more interesting and interactive learning experience and so that it can be continued with a test of the effectiveness of the media on students.
