Abstract

This study examines the role of family quality time in fostering independence in children aged 4-6 years, as well as the challenges in implementing family quality time. The research aims to analyze the role of family quality time in developing independence among children aged 4-6 in Pilangsari Village, Cirebon Regency. Early childhood independence serves as a crucial foundation for their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This study employs a qualitative approach, specifically phenomenology, to understand the subjective experiences of parents and children in spending quality time together and its impact on children's independence. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews with one family, and participatory observation. The findings indicate that family quality time filled with activities such as playing together, doing household chores, and open communication can enhance children's self-confidence, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Supporting factors, such as the involvement of both mother and father and consistent routines, further strengthen children's independence. These findings have important implications for parents and educators in creating a family environment that supports early childhood independence through meaningful interactions.

Abstract

Parenting is very important for children because it determines how the child's journey and destiny will be in the future so that all behavior, actions, values, morals, rules, and beliefs held by children are influenced by the role of parents in educating. However, this is different in the real world, many parents are not aware of their role as figures who are dependent on children so that they become anarchic, destructive figures, and carry out other negative behaviors. The problem of parenting also occurs in Pertiwi 34 Patemon Kindergarten where many parents lack knowledge related to parenting so that many parents unknowingly apply parenting patterns that are not good for child development. Community service is carried out in the form of Socialization through Power Point media. The presentation of material on "Democratic Parenting" was presented by the Community Service Team. After the presentation, the guardians asked questions related to the material "Democratic Parenting" to the community service team. This socialization activity was carried out on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The activity was carried out at Pertiwi 34 Patemon Kindergarten which was attended by 54 guardians. Parents participated in the activity enthusiastically and paid attention during the activity.

Abstract

The transition period from kindergarten to elementary school is a crucial stage that requires comprehensive readiness from children, both cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically. This readiness does not emerge suddenly but is shaped through a continuous nurturing process and support from the immediate environment, particularly from parents. The parenting activities conducted at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 49 Kindergarten in Semarang on Saturday, May 31, 2025, aim to enhance parents' understanding of the importance of their role in preparing children for the elementary education phase. Through an educational and dialogic approach, the activity encouraged parents to be more aware of their parenting responsibilities, which are not only focused on academic aspects but also on character development and children's independence. Evaluation of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge of effective support strategies, such as establishing daily routines, assigning small responsibilities, and supporting children in social interactions. This activity emphasizes that consistent and role-aware parental involvement is key to helping children achieve the maturity needed before entering elementary school.

Abstract

Early childhood education (PAUD) has become an inseparable part of the education unit. Nowadays, many PAUD units are established, have permits, and carry out accreditation. Meanwhile, there are still many educators in PAUD units whose education is not linear. This has an impact on the learning practices given to children being of lower quality, especially for PAUD which has an Islamic boarding school base which will be the choice of parents who hope that their children will receive general knowledge and religious knowledge facilities. The activity method used refers to five stages, namely preparation, training & education, experience, mentoring and monitoring. The service activities carried out include training Islamic boarding school-based PAUD educators in carrying out learning practices according to PAUD learning principles. Furthermore, partners receive strengthening in two areas, namely literacy and numeracy. Literacy skills by introducing receptive, expressive language and literacy. Numeracy ability by optimizing 8 branches of numeracy in early childhood. The eight branches of mathematics introduced are matching, classification, sorting, geometry, patterns, counting, data, and measurement. Based on the service activities carried out, it can be concluded that the service activities that have been carried out have had a positive impact on partners. Partners receive literacy and numeracy reinforcement during activities, and continue good practices by applying the literacy and numeracy material they have obtained during training activities

Abstract

Moral education in early childhood is a crucial foundation in character building. The main objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of storytelling in developing morality among young children. This study employs a literature review as the primary method by analyzing national and international sources from the last ten years. The findings reveal that storytelling is effective in instilling moral values such as empathy, honesty, responsibility, and respect, especially when supported by appropriate media such as puppets, folktales, or interactive digital platforms. The internalization of moral values occurs through children's emotional engagement with the story and its characters. The study concludes that storytelling is a strategic approach in early childhood character education and has the potential to be integrated into culturally and technologically-based learning curricula.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the moral and religious values contained in the animated film Nussa and Rara. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques. The data collection process was carried out by watching the film in its entirety and recording information related to moral values in the storyline. Based on the results of the analysis, a number of moral and religious values were found displayed in the film, namely: mutual assistance, mutual respect, personal and environmental hygiene, compassion, politeness, willingness to sacrifice and kindness, empathy and facing injustice, the value of introducing the pillars of Islam and carrying out worship, the value of sincerity and honesty, tolerance, table manners, learning to be sincere and accepting destiny with gratitude, the importance of reading basmalah and learning from mistakes, the value of gratitude and charity, the value of mahram and being wise in acting. The results of this study indicate that Nussa and Rara is an educational show that is suitable for use as a medium for learning moral values in early childhood. Therefore, this film can be used by educators as a means of learning fun and educational characters. This can be an insight into knowledge about cartoon films that have positive moral messages besides Nusa and Rara. So parents need to identify children's films positively for the growth of early childhood.

Abstract

Serulingmas Dance Studio is one of the dance art studios located in Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java. In collaboration with Serulingmas Dance Studio, the community service team implemented a program to strengthen the competencies of studio educators through early childhood makeup training. This community service program involved studio educators who have the potential to facilitate the studio’s students. The aim of this program was to enhance the skills of the studio educators in early childhood makeup at Serulingmas Dance Studio. The implementation of the program consisted of several stages, including preparation, training, mentoring and evaluation, as well as monitoring. The results of the program had a highly positive impact on the partner. The studio educators were able to absorb the knowledge and information well, enabling them to apply early childhood makeup skills in the studio environment. The outcomes of the program were directly implemented in the Depo Pelita Traditional Creative Dance Festival.

Abstract

Meskipun peran gadget dalam kehidupan anak-anak semakin berkembang, penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan dan tidak terkendali dapat menyebabkan kecanduan, masalah perilaku, dan keterlambatan bahasa. Pola asuh otoriter yang menyeimbangkan kebebasan dan pengawasan memungkinkan orang tua untuk secara efektif mengatur jumlah waktu yang dihabiskan anak-anak mereka di depan layar berdasarkan usia mereka (≤ 1 jam per hari untuk anak-anak yang sangat aktif; ≤ 2 jam untuk anak-anak yang berusia lebih dari 5 tahun) dan menggantinya dengan stimulasi aktif. Kampanye komunikasi "Kurangi Efek Negatif Perangkat" di pos kesehatan terpadu Sekar Kanthil (3 Mei 2025) menyerukan partisipasi melalui studi lokalisasi, koordinasi, dukungan interaktif, dan sesi tanya jawab. Hasilnya, 80% orang tua lebih menyadari efek negatif elektronik dan berupaya membatasi penggunaannya serta menyarankan kegiatan pengganti. Untuk mendukung perkembangan anak usia dini sebaik mungkin, hasil kegiatan tersebut mencakup peningkatan pemahaman orang tua tentang manajemen teknologi, pemantauan konten, dan pengaturan "zona gadget" di rumah.

Abstract

Kegiatan parenting dengan tema “Mengasuh Anak Tanpa Kehilangan Diri Sendiri: Solusi untuk Burnout Pengasuhan” telah dilaksanakan di TK Al Jannah Gunungpati, pada hari Sabtu, 26 April 2025. Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari program pengabdian masyarakat yang ditujukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran para orang tua mengenai fenomena parental burnout, yaitu kondisi kelelahan fisik dan mental yang terjadi akibat tekanan pengasuhan yang berkepanjangan. Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, banyak orang tua terlalu fokus pada pemenuhan kebutuhan anak hingga mengabaikan kebutuhan diri sendiri. Hal ini dapat berdampak pada kesehatan mental orang tua dan kualitas hubungan dengan anak. Metode yang gunakan adalah metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) atau penelitian tindakan partisipatif dalam kegiatan parenting yang dilakukan secara langsung sebagai bagian dari program pengabdian di TK Al Jannah dengan sasaran wali murid TK Al Jannah yang bersedia datang dan menjadi peserta saat kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai pentingnya menjaga kesehatan mental dalam menjalani peran sebagai orang tua. Para peserta menyatakan mendapatkan wawasan baru yang berguna untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama dalam mengelola stres dan kelelahan pengasuhan. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, diharapkan para orang tua mampu menerapkan pola asuh yang lebih bijaksana, sehat secara emosional, dan berorientasi pada kesejahteraan bersama, baik untuk anak maupun diri sendiri. Kata kunci: parental burnout, peaceful parenting, strategi coping, regulasi diri.
