Abstract

Pelaksanaan program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka2 dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 September- 28 Januari 2022. Didalam program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka2 ada banyak kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilaksanakan salah satunya adalah kontribusi sosial. Kontribusi sosial merupakan tindakan yaitu berupa perilaku yang dilakukan oleh kelompok yang kemudian memberikan dampak baik positif maupun negatif terhadap pihak lain. Dalam hal ini, kegiatan kontribusi sosial merupakan salah satu kegiatan wajib yang dilaksanakan pada akhir pelaksanaan program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka2 di Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta. Kegiatan kontribusi sosial yang dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk kepedulian mahasiswa terhadap masyarakat yang ada didesa Kotagede Yogyakarta. Mahasiswa didampingi oleh Ibu Ariati Dina Puspita Dosen Modul Nusantara selaku penanggung jawab kegiatan kontribusi sosial. Berkontribusi dibidang sosial mahasiswa mengenalkan produk baru pada masyarakat khususnya ibu-ibu didesa kotagede. Masyarakat yang terdapat didesa kotagede terlihat sangat antusias ketika kami datang dan melaksanakan program kami didesa Kotagede, sebagai bentuk apresiasi ataupun kenang-kenangan berupa plakat kepada masyarakat kotagede maka dari itu mahasiswa Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka2.

Abstract

Translating is such a difficult activity and needs some efforts to master this skill, particularly when it is done by students. This research examines the analysis of grammatical errors in translating texts from Indonesian to English with the aim of being able to answer the following questions: What types of grammar are often misinterpreted by students in interpreting a language? In this field, the method used is descriptive qualitative method and text translation. The data was token from 15 students in one class. The results of the analysis found several errors such as 35 (63.63%) word replacement errors, 15 (27.28%) word omissions, 4 (7.28%) word additions and word rearrangement 1 (100%). In which all errors are found are 261. The most common mistake that occurs is substitution. The use of Past Tenses is one of the causes of students' difficulties in translating descriptive texts. From the results it can be suggested that should be able to teach students how students how to translate texts correctly and provide time or opportunity for students to practice focusing on grammar, especially in using tenses, verbs, articles, auxiliary verbs, noun phrases and pronouns.

Abstract

Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka adalah salah satu program dari Kementerian Pendidikan Kebudayaan dan Teknologi yang dapat diikuti oleh mahasiswa di Indonesia. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan mengahadapi kemajuan zaman. Kurikulum merdeka merupakan inovasi baru dalam dunia Pendidikan di Indonesia. Salah satu bentuk penerapannya yaitu dengan mengadakan Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM). Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka memberikan wadah melalui mata kuliah Modul Nusantara untuk mengeksplor budaya lokal di Malang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis tentang budaya Arek Malang serta melakukan pengkajian tentang pemahaman mengenai budaya Arek Malang dengan mahasiwa PMM. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Selain itu, untuk memperkuat data penelitian, peneliti juga menggunakan data sekunder dari penelitian relevan, jurnal-jurnal dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya Arek Malang dan setiap daerah memiliki identitas masing masing. Kata kunci: Budaya Arek Malang, Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka, Modul Nusantara. Abstract The independent curriculum is a new innovation in the world of education in Indonesia. One form of implementation is by holding the Independent Student Exchange Program. This program aims to improve competence and face the progress of the times. The Merdeka Student Exchange provides a platform through the Nusantara Module course to explore local culture in Malang. This study aims to describe and analyse the culture of Arek Malang. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach with data collection methods using observation, interviews, and documentation. In addition, to strengthen research data, researchers also use secondary data from relevant research, journals and literature studies. The results of the study show that the culture of Arek Malang and each region has its own identity. Keywords: Arek Malang Culture, Independent Student Exchange, Nusantara Module.

Abstract

The Analysis of Collocations Use the Film Entitled "Rambo: Last Blood" by Adrian Grunberg."Collocation is a combination of words in a language that occurs very often and more often than by chance. This study aimed to discover the types of collocations used in the film "Rambo: Last Blood" by Adrian Grunberg. Moreover, to find out the dominant type of Collocation in the Collocation of the film entitled: "Rambo: Last Blood" by Adrian Grunberg. This study used a qualitative descriptive method to analyze data, a collocation in the film's subtitle. The data source in this study is the subtitled transcript of the film “Rambo: Last Blood "by Adrian Grunberg, which was taken from the translation of the Netflix application. The data in this study are English collocations in the film subtitle "Rambo: Last Blood” and its translation into Indonesian in phrases. The result shows that the maximum percentage is 70% and the minimum percentage is 30%. It can be concluded that the dominant type of collocation results in the Collocation of the film entitled: "Rambo: Last Blood" by Adrian Grunberg is Lexical Collocation with a presentation result of 70%. So the dominant Collocation that was used in the film "Rambo: Last Blood" by Adrian Grunberg is Lexical Collocation (70%) because it showed a significant presence.

Abstract

This research shows that there were several problems faced by students at SMA Negeri 2 Alasa in learning English, especially learning reading comprehension. Therefore, researcher was interested in conducting research entitled " Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension by Using Story Pyramid and Plus Minus Interesting Strategy at the Tenth Grade of SMA Negeri 2 Alasa". This research aims to observe the learning difficulties of these students, whether using the Story Pyramid and Plus Minus Interesting strategies could improve reading comprehension skills of the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Alasa and find out which strategy was more effective in improving reading comprehension skills. In this research, the researcher used classroom action research (CAR). CAR is an examination of learning activities in the form of an action, which is carried out to improve the teaching and learning process so as to improve learning outcomes that are better than before. Based on the results of the analysis, the pre-test results in class X-IPS which used the Story Pyramid strategy obtained an average score of 61.05%, while in class X-IPA got 56,84%. After the students learned by using these two strategies, the average post-test score for class X-IPS was 73.68% and class X-IPA was 74.21%. From these calculations it was concluded that there was a significant improvement in students' scores in reading comprehension and the use of Plus Minus Interesting strategy was more effective in improving students' reading comprehension with an average score increase of 17.37% compared to Story Pyramid's 12.63%.

Abstract

Based on research conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Alasa, researchers found that there were several problems in learning to write English faced by students at SMA Negeri 2 Alasa. Students often have difficulty composing a paragraph by writing down their own ideas. Therefore, researchers conducted research entitled "Improving the students' writing recount text ability by using Think Talk Write and Self-Regulated Strategy Development at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Alasa North Nias". This research aims to observe the improvement of students' writing skills using Think Talk Write and Self-Regulated Strategy Development, whether there was an improvement in learning outcomes and what strategies were more effectively used between the two strategies. In this research, researcher used classroom action research which is applies treatments to improve learning outcomes that are better than before. From this research, the average pre-test score for class XI-IPS was 52.14% and class XI-IPA was 42.86%. After being given Think Talk Write strategy treatment in class XI-IPS, the average post-test score was 72.35% and in class XI-IPA using Self-Regulated Strategy Development with an average score of 73.57%. From these score, it can be seen that there has been a significant improvement in students' writing abilities, namely 20.21% in class XI-IPS and class XI-IPA 30.71%. Thus, it is concluded that using Think Talk Write and Self-Regulated Strategy Development can improve students' ability in writing recount texts and in this research Self-Regulated Strategy Development is more effective than Think Talk Write strategy.

Abstract

" A Phonological Problems and Errors of Students Pronunciation in Reading English Text at English Department of University HKBP Nommensen". English Language Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. HKBP Nommensen University Medan.This study aims to find out the pronounciation problems and pronunciation errors made by students semester sixth group B at English Department of University HKBP Nommensen Medan. Researcher used a qualitative descriptive method. The data of this study are transcript of students pronunciation recording in English short story text. There were 15 students at English Department who were taken randomly. The data were analyzed based on (Ladefogeds, 2001) theory to look for types of pronunciation errors using phonetic transcript, data collection was done through voice recordings and the Elsa speak application. The results showed that students made the following muel pronunciation mistakes [?, ?, ?, ?:,]. The total pronunciation errors in vowel sounds are 40 errors. The errors consist of 18 omission errors, 6 addition errors and 16 msinformation errors. Vowel pronunciation mistakes made by students can be caused by several factors, for example the influence of the first mother tongue (interference), the influence of the second language learned (overgeneralization), and the influence of developmental errors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi dan kinerja siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IX di SMP N 37 Medan. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasi. Populasinya adalah siswa kelas IX yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan laporan. Untuk mengumpulkan data, dan memberikan pernyataan berupa angket yang kemudian disebarkan kepada 25 siswa dan 15 soal yang berisi motivasi belajar, dari angket ini hasilnya adalah 0,57 dan dapat dikategorikan saat ini, dimana motivasi selama belajar berhubungan dengan kinerja siswa. Beberapa dari mereka sangat setuju bahwa motivasi mempunyai pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kinerja mereka dalam belajar dan kemampuan mereka dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Dari hasil raport siswa, peneliti juga menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap motivasi yang diberikan berdampak terhadap keterampilan dan minat belajar siswa di sekolah, terbukti dengan keberhasilan program belajar mengajar. Siswa beranggapan bahwa dengan memberikan motivasi siswa dapat meningkatkan kemampuannya, mencapai pendidikan yang inklusif dan berkualitas, meningkatkan karakter, dan lebih percaya diri dalam mengembangkan kemampuan belajarnya.

Abstract

Google Translate merupakan mesin terjemahan yang digunakan sebagai media dalam menerjemahkan teks. Penerjemah profesional juga merupakan penerjemah terbaik untuk menerjemahkan teks dari Bahasa Sumber ke bahasa target. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbandingan keakuratan Google Translate dan Penerjemah Profesional atau Bagaimana keakuratan terjemahan Google Translate dan Bagaimana keakuratan terjemahan penerjemah profesional. Data diambil dari artikel “The Economics of Happiness" Oleh Jeffrey D. Sachs. Dalam penelitian ini, terjemahan dari Google Translate dan Professional Translator dinilai oleh penilai. Penelitian menggunakan teori Nababan (2012). Desain penelitian Yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keakuratan Google Translate mempunyai skor rata-rata sebesar 2,36 yang dikategorikan kurang akurat. skor rata-rata 2,88 yang dikategorikan akurat, sehingga skor terjemahan Penerjemah Profesional lebih tinggi dibandingkan skor Google Translate.

Abstract

Google Translate dan Deepl Translate adalah mesin terjemahan yang digunakan untuk menerjemahkan teks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui teknik penerjemahan dan mengetahui jenis yang dominan digunakan oleh Google dan Deepl Translate dalam menerjemahkan Doa Bapa Kami. Dalam penelitian ini instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi yang dilakukan peneliti dengan menganalisis informasi yang ada dalam Doa bapa kami. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Molina dan Albir (2002). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan observasi sebagai instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data. setelah pengumpulan data, total datanya adalah 12 frase/kalimat. Indonesia sebagai bahasa sumber dan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa sasaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Google Translate menerapkan enam teknik penerjemahan, yaitu transposisi, adaptasi, calque, kreasi diskursif, terjemahan literal, terjemahan literal, dan kompensasi. Sedangkan deepl Translate menerapkan enam teknik penerjemahan yaitu calque, adaptasi, mapan padanan, terjemahan literal, amplifikasi, transposisi. Google Translate dominan menggunakan teknik calque sebanyak 5 kali (41,6%) diikuti transposisi sebanyak 1 kali (8,3%), adaptasi sebanyak 1 kali (8,3%), penciptaan diskursif sebanyak 1 kali (8,3%) , terjemahan literal terjadi 3 kali (25%), kompensasi terjadi 1 kali (8,3%). Deepl Translate dominan menggunakan teknik transposisi sebanyak 4 kali (33,3%), diikuti dengan calque sebanyak 2 kali (16,6%), adaptasi terjadi sebanyak 2 kali (16,6%), kesepadanan mapan terjadi sebanyak 2 kali (16,6), penerjemahan literal terjadi 1 kali (8,3%), amplifikasi terjadi 1 kali (8,3%). Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua mesin menghasilkan teknik penerjemahan yang berbeda dan menunjukkan teknik penerjemahan dominan yang berbeda untuk digunakan.
