Abstract

Critical book review is one of the mandatory assignments given to students to review a book in the sense of focusing on evaluation (explanation, interpretation, and analysis) of the book's strengths and weaknesses and how the book affects the way of thinking and increases understanding of a field of study. Teaching materials for Physiological Anatomy by Heni Puji Wahyuningsih and Yuni Kusmiyati are a comprehensive learning resource to understand the structure and function of the human body. This book discusses various organ systems in detail, from the cellular to the macroscopic level. Its clear explanations and informative pictures make this book easy for readers to understand. This study aims to find out the discussion of teaching materials in detail. This study uses a literature study method, namely collecting data from various literature or scientific references and physiological anatomy books. The results of the critical analysis of the research are teaching materials discussing the physiological anatomy of the human body, where anatomy is the study of the structure and relationships between body parts of living things, and physiology is the study of the study of the function of body parts

Abstract

The ability to understand science concepts is very important for everyone to have a greater opportunity to adapt in life, especially in terms of mastering reading skills to improve the development of a country. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the think-pair-share learning model in improving students' cognitive abilities during the science learning process. This research is a quasi-experimental research with matching pretest-posttest control group design conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The average result of cognitive ability in the experimental class was 82.20 which was in the very good category, while the average cognitive ability of students in the experimental class was 68.80 which only increased to a sufficient category. The N-gain result in the control group was 0.36 which was in the moderate category, while the N-gain in the control group was 0.79 which was in the moderate category. After the application of the think-pair-share learning model, it was concluded that the cognitive level of students increased to the C4-analyze level. This research provides an alternative science learning model that is more varied so that science teachers can apply it to the classroom.

Abstract

Organic farming has increasingly become a preferred choice in sustainable agricultural systems due to its significant benefits for environmental balance and quality. One of the key elements in organic farming is soil microorganisms, which play a crucial role in enhancing soil fertility and supporting plant health. Soil microorganisms, such as nitrogen-fixing bacteria, phosphate-solubilizing microbes, mycorrhiza, and organic matter decomposers, contribute significantly to fertilization efficiency and nutrient availability, as well as improving plant resistance to pathogens. The utilization of soil microorganisms as biofertilizers can reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers, mitigate environmental pollution, and increase agricultural productivity sustainably. Furthermore, soil microorganisms can improve soil structure, extend root longevity, and stimulate plant growth. The selection of appropriate microorganisms according to soil conditions and intended use is essential to maximize their benefits. Therefore, the application of soil fertility-promoting microorganisms as part of sustainable agricultural technology holds great potential to enhance environmentally friendly and efficient agricultural outcomes.

Abstract

The use of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in agriculture is an effective way to improve soil fertility and overall crop productivity. Bacteria such as Rhizobium, Azotobacter, and Azospirillum are able to extract nitrogen from the soil and convert it into a form that can be absorbed by plants, which is essential for the formation of protein, DNA, and RNA in plants. By utilizing the capabilities of these bacteria, the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers can be varied, thereby reducing the detrimental dampening effects on water quality and the environment. In addition, nitrogen-fixing bacteria improve water use efficiency and contribute to the health of aquatic ecosystems. The use of these bacteria has the potential to improve the results of a more thorough analysis with less cost and less environmental impact.

Abstract

Soil microorganisms play an important role in increasing nutrient availability for maize plants through the processes of nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization, and humic acid production. These processes not only increase maize productivity but also reduce dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers, thus supporting agricultural sustainability. This study explores the benefits of microorganisms such as Rhizobium, Azospirillum, Pseudomonas, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in enhancing nutrient uptake, protecting plants from environmental stress, and improving soil quality. Challenges in the application of microorganism technology include adaptation to diverse environmental conditions and low farmer adoption. However, advances in genomic technology and biotechnology open up opportunities to optimize the benefits of soil microorganisms. The implementation of this microorganism-based technology has the potential to support efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable maize farming.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of character education at the University of Nias. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study consist of lecturers (3 people) and students (5 people) at the University of Nias. Techniques to collect data through interviewing subjects, namely lecturers and students by providing several questions relevant to our mini research about the character of students. The data analysis technique in this study is qualitative analysis with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that Nias University students have a character that plays a very important role in shaping students who are not only superior in academics, but also emotionally and socially mature. By instilling an attitude of respecting differences, empathy, and having good self-control, students can create an inclusive and productive campus environment. In addition, the application of character values such as integrity, discipline, and responsibility strongly supports students' personal development, so that they are ready to face future challenges

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of agrotechnology innovations in improving agricultural productivity and sustainability in Nias Islands. The main challenges of the agricultural sector in this region include limited resources, climate instability and minimal access to technology. The research used a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) with surveys, in-depth interviews and field observations. Results show that micro-irrigation technology and waste-based organic fertilizer are the most widely adopted innovations. These technologies can increase crop productivity by up to 30%, although there are still obstacles in the adoption of advanced technologies such as satellite image-based land mapping due to limited infrastructure and farmer knowledge. The research also identified positive socio-economic impacts, including improved farmer welfare and land sustainability. In conclusion, the development of simple technologies such as micro-irrigation and organic fertilizer offers great potential to improve production efficiency, provided there is close collaboration between the government, academia and local communities. Key recommendations include improved access to technology, intensive training, and integration of local wisdom in sustainability strategies.
