Abstract

e level of food consumption in the adolescent age group is still classified as less in accordance with balanced dietary guidelines, which is still in the low category in the consumption of protein, fruits and vegetables, and the consumption of fat, sugar and salt is quite high. However, if calorie intake is not balanced with the amount of energy expended through physical activity, an increase in energy reserves stored in adipose tissue can lead to overweight. Diet quality, as an assessment of adherence to a balanced diet, has a role to play in improving health by recommending dietary diversity to meet nutrient needs and by preventing food-related noncommunicable diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in diet quality between overweight and non-overweight adolescents in SMA N 10 Jambi City. This research was conducted in May-July 2024 in SMA N 10 Jambi City. This research is a quantitative study with cross sectional design. Data was collected using 3x24 hour food recall interviews. The sample size was 85 adolescents. Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis using T- test. The results showed a percentage description of diet quality in adolescents, namely as many as 85 people (100%) had poor diet quality and as many as 41 people (48.2%) had overweight nutritional status. There is no difference between the diet quality of overweight adolescents and non-overweight adolescents with a Sig. 0,284. It can be concluded that there is no difference between the dietary quality of overweight and non- overweight adolescents. It is recommended that schools, in collaboration with the health centre, carry out counselling on the consumption of balanced, nutritious food, guided by the contents of my plate, in order to improve the quality of adolescent diet.

Abstract

Fast food is a type of food that is easy to serve quickly or practically processed. Fast food contains a lot of salt, sugar, calories and fat. The high calorie content of fast food, if not balanced with active activity or exercise, is detrimental to health, as it can trigger future disease and lead to overnutrition. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between fast food consumption and physical activity with the incidence of overnutrition in adolescents at Pelita Raya Junior High School, Jambi City. This type of research is quantitative research with cross-sectional design. Data was collected by distributing FFQ questionnaires, GPAQ questionnaires and measuring BMI. This study was conducted in June 2024 in Pelita Raya Junior High School, Jambi City. Data analysis in the study used univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-squared test to determine the relationship between the independent variable (fast food consumption and physical activity) with the dependent variable (overnutrition). The results showed the percentage of adolescents who consumed fast food with frequent categories as many as 15 adolescents (42.9%) and rarely as many as 20 adolescents (57.1%). The picture of physical activity of adolescents with high intensity as many as 21 adolescents (60%) and low as many as 14 adolescents (40%). The nutritional status of adolescents with overnutrition category was 13 adolescents (37.1%) and normal nutritional status was 22 adolescents (62.9%). There is a relationship between fast food consumption and the incidence of overweight (p = 0.015) and there is a relationship between physical activity and the incidence of overweight (p = 0.000). In this study it can be concluded that there is an association between fast food consumption and physical activity with nutrient intake. It is recommended that adolescents reduce their consumption of fast food, adopt good consumption patterns and engage in sufficient physical activity to avoid overnutrition.

Adolescents are defined as young people aged 10-19 years.   Adolescents experience rapid growth and development, and are included in a group that is vulnerable to nutritional problems, so they need to get the attention of many parties. This increasing lack of physical activity is a health problem that needs attention and can be addressed immediately. Lack of physical activity has also been identified as a risk factor for chronic disease. As an effort to prevent nutritional problems, this research was carried out to find out factors related to nutritional problems, one of which was adolescent physical activity among MTS students as many as 14 respondents at the Ainul Yaqin Orphanage, Jambi City. The results of the research showed that all respondents fell into the category of early adolescence, 100% of the respondents were male (50%) and 7 respondents were female (50%). The conclusion in this study was that the majority of respondents, namely 9 respondents, had low levels of physical activity (64.3%). It is recommended that partners continue to motivate teenagers to increase their daily physical activity, so that their health status can be optimal. Future researchers can carry out further research with different variables and methods in efforts to prevent nutritional problems. The targeted output is scientific publication in accredited national journals.

This research is descriptive research conducted to determine the description of adolescent knowledge and behavior in preventing anemia. This research took place at the Al Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Jambi City with a sample size of 94 young women. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. Next, the data was analyzed using univariate analysis to get an idea of the frequency distribution of all the variables studied. The research results showed that the largest age distribution of respondents was 15 and 16 years old (34%), the highest class distribution of respondents was in class Anemia prevention behavior: The majority of respondents had poor behavior, 83 respondents (88.3%).
