Abstract

The characteristics of innovation and the process of implementing intensive red chili cultivation need to get training from parties involved in intensive red chili cultivation activities. The purpose of this study is to determine farmers' assessment of the innovation characteristics of intensive red chili cultivation. The research sample consisted of 32 red chili farmers in Meurah Dua District, Pidie Jaya Regency, Indonesia. This research was conducted through a qualitative descriptive approach with data measurement using a Likert scale. Based on farmers' responses to the innovation characteristics of intensive red chili cultivation, the results sequentially showed that the cultivation (1) having a relative profit level, (2) easy to try, (3) suitability level, (4) observable, and (5) level of innovation complexity. The process of red chili cultivation activities include; (1) seed procurement and seeding, (2) land management, (3) planting, (4) plant maintenance, (5) pest and disease control, and (6) harvesting. The role of agricultural extension is needed to continue to provide training and assistance to address problems faced by intensive red chili farmers especiallyin the selection of superior seeds and good seeding process, balanced fertilization, integrated pest and disease control.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is always faced with risks and uncertainties that can harm farmers. Therefore, there is a need for systematic and institutionalized efforts to reduce these risks and uncertainties, namely through agricultural insurance. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence farmers' participation in the AUTP program. This study involved 60 respondents. To analyze the level of farmers' participation in AUTP program, it is calculated using Likert Summated Rating scale and to analyze the factors influencing farmers' participation in AUTP program using multiple linear analysis method. The results of the study show that the factors that influence farmers' participation in the AUTP program in Silau Rakyat Village, simultaneously all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. However, partially, only the variables of income, farming experience, AUTP information, program benefits, and frequency of crop failure have a significant effect on farmers' participation in the AUTP program, while the variables of land area, socialization, and frequency of socialization have no significant effect on farmers' participation in the AUTP program in Silau Rakyat Village.

Abstract

Climate change has affected rice productivity in North Aceh Regency, characterized by rainfall fluctuations, increased temperatures, and disruption of agricultural ecosystems. This study aims to identify obstacles faced by farmers in implementing innovations in rice cultivation and analyze the role of agricultural extension workers in supporting adaptation to climate change. The method used in this study was a survey method with qualitative descriptive analysis of 80 respondents in North Aceh Regency. The results showed that the main obstacles included limited adaptive superior seeds (86.56%), availability of irrigation water (80.63%), and low climate literacy (78.24%). The role of adaptive extension workers was assessed as "instrumental" with an average index value of 69.71%, the highest score for the extension worker variable as an innovator (78.63%) and extension workers as educators with an index value of (75.08%). The results of this study emphasize the importance of extension workers as agents of change in terms of technology transfer, climate education, and facilitating access to resources. Community-based extension strategies and participatory approaches have proven effective in increasing farmers' adaptive capacity. The importance of strengthening the role of extension workers through training, policy support, and cross-sector collaboration to accelerate the adoption process of innovations in rice cultivation that are resilient to climate change.

Abstract

Abstract

This research was conducted in Padang Sidimpuan City. This research was carried out becausePadang Sidimpuan City is one of the snakefruit producing cities which is currently developing as afarming commodity. Salak in Padang Sidimpuan City is utilized and developed by every company toprovide added value or profitable prices, one of which is UD Bolu Salak. However, it is felt thatmanaging the supply of raw materials by the company is not optimal, so researchers use theEconomic Order Quantity (EOQ) method to optimize the supply of raw materials in the company. This research aims to analyze the control of the supply of raw materials for salak sponge cake at UDBolu Salak Kenanga, Padang Sidimpuan City, using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The sampling technique was carried out using the purposive sampling method. The research methoduses a quantitative descriptive approach, namely analyzing the control of the supply of raw materialsfor at UD Bolu Salak. The research results show that the company's policy inventory costs are IDR11,400,000.00 for each raw material. This policy is considered not optimal because excess purchasesoften occur which causes wasted costs. On the other hand, using the EOQ method provides moreefficient results. The inventory costs generated by the EOQ method for each raw material are aroundIDR 1,310,000.00 per year, which is much lower than the company's policy. The Safety Stock analysisshows that the need for reserve supplies for wheat flour is 18,400 kg, granulated sugar 3,591.68 kg,snake fruit 3,116.68 kg, and eggs 7,095 squares, which is not accommodated by company policy.Meanwhile, the Reorder Point (ROP) based on the EOQ method occurs at certain minimum inventorylevels, such as 64.64 kg of wheat flour and 32.18 kg of granulated sugar, while company policy doesnot stipulate ROP.Keywords: Inventory Control, Raw Materials, Salak Cake, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), CostEfficiency
