Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students at SDN 19 Koto Teratak. This occurred because teachers had not yet used effective learning models and media during the learning process. One model that can be used is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, which encourages students to think critically in solving problems. This can be supported by the use of GeoGebra media, which can be applied in teaching simple three-dimensional net shapes. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement in students’ learning outcomes using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by GeoGebra on the topic of simple three-dimensional nets in Class V of UPT SDN 19 Koto Teratak. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) that uses both qualitative and quantitative approaches. It was carried out in two cycles, namely Cycle I (two meetings) and Cycle II (one meeting), and consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments used included observation sheets, test sheets, and non-test instruments. The subjects of this study were the teacher and the fifth-grade students of SDN 29 Koto Teratak, totaling 22 students (9 boys and 13 girls). The results of the study show improvements in several areas: the Teaching Module in Cycle I obtained an average of 85.4% (Good), which increased to 95.8% (Very Good) in Cycle II; teacher activity in Cycle I averaged 87.5% (Good), which increased to 96.4% (Very Good) in Cycle II; student activity in Cycle I averaged 83.9% (Good), increasing to 96.4% (Very Good) in Cycle II; and student learning outcomes improved from an average score of 63.4 (Poor) in Cycle I Meeting 1, to 76.1 (Fair) in Cycle I Meeting 2, and further increased to 83.3 (Good) in Cycle II. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that learning simple three-dimensional nets using the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by GeoGebra can improve student learning outcomes in Class V of SDN 19 Koto Teratak.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement of learning outcomes of Pancasila Education using the Problem Based Learning model in Class IV of UPT SDN 03 Pasar Amping Parak, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research applies the Classroom Action Research (CAR) type using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects in this research were teachers (researchers) and 20 students consisting of 10 male students and 10 female students. The results of this research indicate an increase in: a) the teaching module in cycle I obtained an average of 89.5% (SB), and in cycle II 95.85% (SB). b) the results of implementation in the teacher aspect in cycle I obtained an average of 83.9% (B), and in cycle II 92.8% (SB). c) the results of implementation in the student aspect in cycle I obtained an average of 76.8% (C), and in cycle II 96.42% (SB). d) The average learning outcomes of students in cycle I were 74.2 (C), and in cycle II it became 86.7 (B). Thus, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model can improve student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education learning in class IV of UPT SDN 03 Pasar Amping Parak, Pesisir Selatan Regency

Abstract

The learning process expected by Curriculum Merdeka is to pay attention to the differences in the cognitive level of each student, and teachers facilitate each of those differences with differentiated learning. In addition, the assessment also follows the change, that the assessment no longer has to be carried out only at the middle of the semester or the end of the semester. However, expected assessments are those that are also carried out before, process, and after learning. The purpose of this activity is to provide training to elementary school teachers to design differentiated learning. In addition, it also equips teachers to be proficient in using the Quizizz application as an interactive assessment media. This activity was carried out in six sessions which were divided into seminars and training. The results of the activity showed an increase in the knowledge of the teacher about differentiated learning. In addition, improvements were also seen in the skills of elementary school teachers in using the Quizizz application as an interactive assessment tool. This training can encourage teachers to use smart devices in teaching and learning activities, as a stimulus for students to learn fun, in accordance with technological developments.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the effect of STEM-based Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in perimeter and area of plane figures in fifth-grade elementary school. The study focuses on comparing learning outcomes between students taught using STEM-based PBL model and those taught using conventional learning methods. Methodology: This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 49 fifth-grade students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, including normality, homogeneity, and Mann–Whitney U tests. Main Findings: The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class was higher than the control class. The Mann–Whitney U test indicated a significance value of 0.013 < 0.05, showing a significant difference. This indicates that the STEM-based PBL model has a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes in mathematics. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study highlights the application of STEM-based PBL specifically on perimeter and area of plane figures in elementary school context. It provides empirical evidence of its effectiveness in improving learning outcomes and offers a contextual and student-centered learning approach, contributing to the development of innovative mathematics learning models at the primary education level.

Abstract

The low academic performance of students in mathematics serves as the primary motivation for this study, indicating that conventional teaching methods have not yet succeeded in fostering effective learning processes. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' learning outcomes in the topic of perimeter of plane figures. A quantitative approach was employed using a one-group pretest–posttest experimental design. The sample consisted of fifth-grade students (class VB) selected through cluster sampling as part of probability sampling. The results show an improvement in learning outcomes following the implementation of the PBL model, as evidenced by an increase in average scores from 29.86 (pretest) to 72.71 (posttest). A statistical test using the Mann-Whitney method yielded a significance value of 0.002 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the PBL model on student learning outcomes. It can therefore be concluded that the application of the PBL model contributes positively to enhancing students' conceptual understanding of mathematics, particularly in the topic of perimeter of plane figures, and can be implemented regularly to foster more meaningful learning experiences.
