Abstract

Disasters for plantjs usually occur due to the incompatibility of the environmental temperature with the temperature limit for plant growth, one example is the pakcoy plant which requires exposure to direct light with the air temperature not being too hot. Evaporative cooling is one of the methods to reduce temperature and increase relative humiditygreenhouse to create optimal climatic conditions for plants. One way of evaporative cooling is done by using a toolmisting (atomizer). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of usemisting in microclimate control (temperature and humidity). Greenhouse on the growth of pakcoy plants. This study used the method of direct observation which was carried out during the planting period of pakcoy plants. Based on the results obtained, the lowest average temperature was in the 30 minutes misting of 27–30 °C, at misting 20 minutes 27–31 °C, meanwhile misting for 10 minutes 27–31 °C and withoutmisting ranges from 32–38 °C. Air humidity on misting 30 and 20 minutes between 81–89 % and treatment misting 10 minutes ranged from 82–89%, while at without misting ranging from 63–77%. The use of misting as an effective control of temperature and humidity produces an average air temperature and relative humidity for the growth of pakcoy plants, namely a temperature of 26-31 °C and a humidity of 82-89%. The misting treatment with an interval of 20 minutes produced the highest number of leaves, namely 22 leaves and the misting treatment with an interval of 10 minutes produced the plants with the highest plant height and weight. The use of misting ignition time intervals has a significant effect on temperature but does not have a significant effect on humidity.

Abstract

Taxonomy study in Indonesia is still a concern due to non-innovative learning methods that cause students not interested in learning and conducting research on it. Consequently, it was impacted by the lack of Indonesian Plant Taxonomists. This research aimed to determine the influence of Herbarium-STEM on students' interest in becoming The Plant Taxonomist. It was quasi-experimental research using one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample was 35 college students chosen by using a purposive sampling technique. The data was gathered using pre-test and post-test techniques of questionnaire distribution. Data analysis was carried out with SPSS by 1) descriptive quantitative analysis on interest; 2) analysis of increasing interest using the N-Gain test; 3) hypothesis analysis using t-test and R2. The results were obtained: 1) the average value of the pre-test on interest was 40,14 (low category) while the post-test was 80,71 (high category); 2) the average value of the N-Gain test on increasing interest was 0,70 (high category); 3) the result of t-test was 0,00 < 0,05 and the result of R2 test was 0,614. Thus, Herbarium-STEM influences students' interest in becoming plant taxonomists, with a high level of influence at 61,4%.

Abstract

C-Organic is an important component of soil fertility. The intensity of agricultural land use affects the organic matter content in the soil. A spectrometer can be used to measure organic matter content through reflectance values. This study aimed to compare reflectance values and C-Organic content in rice fields with planting Index (IP) of 100 and IP of 300 in Maros Regency, as well as to analyze the relationship between reflectance values and laboratory test results. The method used involved collecting soil samples from both types of rice fields, measuring reflectance using a spectrometer in the Blue, Green, Red, and NIR spectra, and analyzing their relationship with C-Organic content. The results showed that reflectance values and C-Organic content in 300 IP were higher than in 100 IP, with the highest coefficient of determination (R²) was in red spectrum, i.e. 0.9425. The C-Organic content at the research field was classified as very low, ranging from 0.61 to 1.05%, with a higher average in 300 IP (0.96%) compared to 100 IP (0.74%). This study concluded that a spectrometer can be a fast and accurate alternative for detecting soil C-Organic content, especially at a wavelength of 650 nm.

Abstract

The development of digital media has changed the global communication landscape, including in the religious realm. Social media has become a powerful tool to spread teachings and influence people's views. However, this phenomenon challenges traditional religious authorities in reaching people increasingly exposed to digitalization. This study examines the transformation of Tengku Dayah, a traditional Acehnese scholar, who switched from physical da'wah to digital platforms, especially social media, in response to the demands of the digital era. Using a qualitative approach and case study methods, this study shows a paradigm change in the acceptance of social media as a da'wah tool while maintaining spiritual integrity, changes in the da'wah space also change the way and pattern of communication to be more relaxed and interactive according to the choice of platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. This research offers practical implications that support the transformation of Tengku Dayah's digital da'wah in the face of the constraints of the digital divide, with targeted digital literacy training programs and student support also being an effective solution, different from previous digital da'wah research that emphasized adoption trends, this study uniquely dissects the internal ethical dilemmas and adaptation strategies of tengku, which enriches the understanding of the sustainable relevance of tengku. Based on the socio-religious context of Aceh, these insights advance the study of digital religion and offer practical implications for traditional Islamic authorities.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic condition requires the world of education to change the learning system from a face-to-face to an online learning process. The internet is one of the media that can help teachers and students in the teaching and learning process. The use of internet media for learning during the pandemic must still be in the guidance of teachers and parents. Internet media is a media without limit, a variety of information that is often unfiltered is available in the virtual world. So clear and firm guidelines are needed regarding the use of the internet for students. This service activity was held on 14-15 January 2022, at Gampong Peurada 1 Banda Aceh. The choice of location for the activity is because Gampong Peurada is one of the Red Zone areas for the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2021. The results of the socialization show that generally parents are still not aware of the use of Parental Control applications in the online learning process.Keywords: Covid-19, internet usage, learning process, parental control.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an Ashabul Qur’an dalam meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis Al-Qur’an anak di Kelurahan Tanjung Merdeka, Kecamatan Tamalate, Kota Makassar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari sumber data primer, yaitu pendidik dan peserta didik di TPA Ashabul Qur’an, serta sumber data sekunder, yaitu pihak-pihak yang memberikan data secara tidak langsung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Keberadaan Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an Ashabul Qur’an memberikan dampak positif bagi para santri yang mengikuti proses pembelajaran membaca Al-Qur’an, serta bagi para orang tua santri. Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an ini dapat melatih minat dan bakat para santri sehingga mereka lebih fokus dalam mempelajari baca tulis Al-Qur’an. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa peranan Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an Ashabul Qur’an sebagai lembaga pendidikan non formal sangat penting dalam mendidik dan meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis Al-Qur’an anak/santri. Pendidik di TPA Ashabul Qur’an berperan sebagai pengajar yang bertugas mendidik, membimbing, dan mengarahkan proses pembelajaran membaca Al-Qur’an anak dengan baik dan benar sesuai dengan kaidah ilmu tajwid.

Abstract

Dental caries is basically caused by cariogenic bacteria, including Streptococcus mutans, which are found in the oral cavity, especially dental plaque. To treat dental caries, antiseptics packaged in the form of mouthwash use unnatural active ingredients which often cause side effects. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out preventive measures to reduce side effects by using waste from guava leaves and basil leaves. This research purpose were to making mouthwash formulation with the active ingredients guava leaf extract and basil leaf extract and determine the antibacterial activity of mouthwash formulation. The method used is the diffusion method, a combination of concentrations of guava leaf extract and basil leaves, namely F1(0%+20%), F2(5%+15%), F3(10%+10%), F4( 15%+ 5.0%), F5(20%+0%), F6(15%+15%). In this study, the variable measured in this study was the diameter of the inhibition zone formed by the combination of extracts. Data analysis was tested using One Way Anova. The significant value obtained was 0.00 ≤ 0.05, indicating a significant difference from the formulation containing a combination of extracts. The results of this research showed that the largest inhibitory zone was at F5 with the largest average value of 15.07mm which had a strong inhibitory response. This research can be concluded that the mouthwash formulation of extracts meets the physical requirements and can inhibit S. mutans. Keywords :  Guava, basil, mouthwash, S. mutans

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is one of the agricultural products that is widely cultivated because it is widely used in the community for household needs, resulting in the need for chili peppers increasing every year. In getting better quality food products after the drying process. Drying food ingredients is usually done first, one of which is the blanching process. The method used with a batch dryer type with drying temperatures of 40 °C, 50 °C and 60 °C with 80 °C blanching treatment with 10 minutes and non-blanching. The results obtained at the drying rate experienced a rapid decrease in moisture content at the beginning of drying which was influenced by the blanching treatment and drying time. During the drying process, the lowest drying rate occurred in the non-blanching sample with a temperature of 40 °C and the highest occurred in the blanching sample with a temperature of 60 °C. The decrease in the moisture ratio value is influenced by the length of drying time carried out so that the longer the time the MR value decreases, the lowest value occurs in the non-blanching sample with a temperature of 40 °C and the highest is in the blanching sample with a temperature of 60 °C. In determining the mathematical model used, the best model is the page model because it is most suitable for describing the drying characteristics of cayenne pepper for all non-blanching and blanching treatments because it has the highest R2 value.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pengendalian terhadap Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) dapat dilakukan dengan cara pemutusan mata rantai dari siklus penularan penyakit DBD yaitu dengan mencegah gigitan nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Terdapat upaya dalam mencegah dan mengendalikan penularan penyakit DBD terhadap gigitan nyamuk Aedes aegypti yaitu melalui keiatan Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk (PSN) 3M plus, larvasidasi dan fogging. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pemberantasan sarang nyamuk DBD melalui sosialisasi 3M Plus di Balai Pengajian Desa Pasie Lamgarot Kecamatan Ingin Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Sasaran dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu seluruh masyarakat balai pengajian Desa Pasie Lamgarot berjumlah 38 orang. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan melalui survey pemeriksaan jentik nyamuk, sosialisasi, PSN dan pemantauan atau evaluasi selanjutknya dilakukan penilaian Angka Bebas Jentik (ABJ). Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 10 s.d 29 Februari 2025. Berdasarkan hasil pemantauan dan evaluasi akhir didapatkan peningkatan ABJ dari 72% sebelum diberian sosialisasi menjadi 92% setelah diberikan sosialisasi. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian ini yaitu adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pemberantasan sarang nyamuk DBD. Kata Kunci: DBD, PSN, Sosialisasi, Kesadaran  ABSTRACT Control of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) can be done by breaking the chain of transmission cycle of DHF disease, namely by preventing Aedes aegypti mosquito bites. There are efforts to prevent and control the transmission of DHF disease through Aedes aegypti mosquito bites, namely through the 3M Plus Mosquito Nest Eradication activity, larvasidation and fogging. This community service aims to increase public awareness of the eradication of DHF mosquito nests through the socialization of 3M Plus at the Balai Pengajian Village Pasie Lamgarot, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency. The target of this community service activity is the entire community of the Pasie Lamgarot Village Study Hall, totaling 38 people. The community service method is carried out through a mosquito larvae examination survey, socialization, mosquito nest eradication and monitoring or evaluation, then the Larvae Free Rate assessment is carried out. This activity was carried out on February 10-29, 2025. Based on the results of monitoring and final evaluation, an increase in ABJ was obtained from 72% before socialization to 92% after socialization. The conclusion of this service is an increase in public awareness of eradicating dengue mosquito nests. Keywords: DHF, Mosquito Nest Eradication, Socialization, Awareness

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of Molluscs and Arthropods in the estuary ecosystem of Gampong Jawa, Kuta Raja District, Banda Aceh, and to develop the results of the study as a Zoology teaching module. Sampling was carried out from 22 to 28 May 2013, with two repetitions and an observation interval of twice a day. The method used was a line transect with a purposive sampling technique, using three line transects and three observation plots. Data analysis used the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson dominance index, Pielou evenness index, and density formula. The results showed that there were 768 individuals divided into 26 species. The diversity index (H') of Molluscs and Arthropods ranged from 2.55-2.61, dominance index 0.072-0.451, evenness index 1.042-1.094. The level of diversity of Molluscs and Arthropods in the area is relatively high. Based on the research results, a Zoology teaching module was developed that integrates knowledge about the diversity of Molluscs and Arthropods in the local estuarine ecosystem. This module is designed to improve students' understanding of local biodiversity and the importance of estuarine ecosystem conservation. In conclusion, the Gampong Jawa estuarine ecosystem has a high diversity of Molluscs and Arthropods, and the results of this study can be used as a contextual learning resource in teaching Zoology.
