Abstract

The Wanggu Watershed is one of the water resources providers in the Southeast Sulawesi region and is part of the Wanggu Watershed community life. This research aims to identify. This study aims to determine the Willingness To Pay value (WTP) of the Wanggu Sub Watershed as the cost of maintaining water sources. The location of this study is within the central Wanggu watershed area. The sampling method is carried out by Purposive Sampling and Convenience Sampling methods at the same time. The respondents were 54 people, including farmers, fishermen, traders, and entrepreneurs using water sources around the Wanggu watershed. Respondents' backgrounds include characteristics of gender, age, education level, and type of work. This study result showed that the willingness to pay (WTP) value obtained from using the water resources of Wanggu Sub Watershed from the Lepo-Lepo Village community is Rp. / year from the Watubangga Village community.

Abstract

The concept of Integrated Watershed Management essentially involves participatory management by multiple stakeholders, focusing on conservation and sustainable use through an ecological approach that emphasizes the interdependence between humans and nature. The Wanggu Watershed, located in Southeast Sulawesi, is characterized by high dynamics due to various human activities such as agriculture, plantations, forestry, and residential development, all of which influence its performance and carrying capacity. The extent of critical and moderately critical land in the Wanggu Watershed still qualifies it as an area with a high need for critical land rehabilitation. The percentage of vegetation cover, particularly forest cover, remains low and is in poor condition. This study aims to evaluate the watershed management practices implemented in the Wanggu Watershed. The water bodies included in the study comprise lakes, rivers, estuaries, seas, bays, and straits. The results indicate that the condition of vegetation cover—especially forest cover—is still poor, and the erosion index is high. Several soil parameters further reveal that the current watershed management in Wanggu is associated with low land carrying capacity. Therefore, improved land management and conservation efforts are necessary to enhance the watershed's performance and sustainability.

Abstract

Sustainable environmental management is expected to be present not only from the government or environmentalists, but must be applied in real efforts in the field of large industries, which make the environment as the origin of raw materials or raw materials of the company, especially mining companies that have a significant impact on ecological, social and cultural changes from a particular region. Companies in Southeast Sulawesi engaged in mining have many activities and profiles related to environmental issues faced. Various areas that are the point of conservation and cultivation of mining companies have a lot of contact with the environment, be it the natural environment or the artificial environment. In addition, the internal environment of the company also provides many crucial problems for mining companies. The many problems and challenges of the company require that each company must have a powerful resolution strategy for the sustainability of the mining company and the resolution of these environmental issues. This case study aims to identify and describe environmental problems and issues faced and overcome or reconciled by mining companies in Southeast Sulawesi, so as to provide an overview of how to approach sustainable environmental management practically in the field in order to achieve sustainable development goals. This research method is carried out by observation, namely direct observation in the field by conducting documentation, recapitulating secondary data in the form of company files that can be accessed. The results of the case study found that these mining companies manage environmental issues very moderately, where there are work units devoted to addressing environmental issues related to environmental pollution that occurs both physical, chemical and biological. For the work environment, certain work management is applied to overcome Human Resources (HR) problems as well as derivative issues such as work safety (K3), and disaster mitigation. The main strategy of these mining companies is created from solid performance and coordination in increasing environmental awareness without reducing the company's main goal, for sustainable development synergy.

Abstract

Water is an essential element for human life; without water, humans will experience a lack of fluid, the fluid in the human body is around 50-80. Water can fulfill daily needs through human activities such as washing clothes, water for drinking, bathing, and so on. Well, water is suitable for use if it meets water quality standards. This type of research uses descriptive research methods. This research is located in Baruga Market, Anduonohu Market, Lorong Salangga, and Kendari Permai Kendari City in December 2023. the samples used in this study amounted to 4 wells. The results obtained in this study are that all well water is polluted with E. coli, and Baruga Market well water exceeds the quality standards for Coliform parameters.  The presence of E. coli in all well water samples indicates fecal contamination, posing severe health risks such as waterborne diseases. Baruga Market's well water exceeds Coliform standards, likely due to sewage runoff, making it unsafe without treatment. Immediate actions, like improving sanitation and providing clean water alternatives, are necessary to prevent further contamination and protect public health.

Abstract

Waste management is a very serious environmental problem faced by Indonesian society due to the increasing amount of waste generated in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine or evaluate waste management at Makale Market and its impact on the community in Tana Toraja Regency. This study used several methods: cluster technique was used to group traders who would become samples, the Slovin formula was used to determine the number of samples to be studied, and descriptive analysis was used to analyse waste management at the market by market managers, trader behaviour, and the impact on the surrounding community by collecting data through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of the study show that waste management at Makale Market does not yet meet the criteria (SNI 19-2454-2002) in terms of containment (organic and inorganic waste is still mixed), collection (there is a collection schedule), transfer (transfer is carried out every day), management (no recycling is carried out), and final disposal (the equipment used is adequate). The impact on the community (discomfort) requires the Tana Toraja Regency Environmental Agency to provide more full support for waste management, especially at Makale Market in Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

The rapid development of Kendari City has led to numerous changes in land use for commercial activities, thereby unknowingly reducing stored carbon reserves. The change in forest function, which is dominated by land for human settlement and trade activities, has reduced the amount of stored carbon reserves. Anduonohu Village is the largest village in the Poasia District, covering an area of 14.11 km²(32.88% of the total area of the Poasia District). The rapid development of Kendari City has led to numerous land changes for commercial activities, thereby reducing stored carbon reserves. The objectives of this study are 1) to determine land use in Anduonohu Village, Poasia District, Kendari City, and 2) to determine carbon reserves as a result of land use changes in Anduonohu Village, Poasia District, Kendari City. This research was conducted in Anduonohu Village in June-July 2023. The research method used was a quantitative descriptive method with data collection techniques, namely observation, documentation, and literature study techniques, and using spatial analysis to analyze the quantitative data obtained. The results obtained in this study are 1) land use in Anduonohu Village in 2018 and 2022 is divided into seven types, namely secondary dryland forest, plantations, secondary mangrove forest, settlements, shrubs/scrub, additional land, and open land. Of the seven types of land use in Anduonohu Village, the largest land change between 2018 and 2022 was in the residential area, which increased by 487 ha. 2) The amount of carbon reserves in Anduonohu Village in 2018 was 868.354 tons/ha and decreased to 822.181 tons/ha in 2022 from the seven types of land use in Anduonohu Village.ha in 2022 from the seven types of land use in Anduonohu Village.

Abstract

Pelatihan media pembelajaran berbasis Learning Management System (LMS) pada SMA Semen Tonasa bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dalam proses belajar mengajar. Dengan perkembangan teknologi yang pesat,penerapan LMS menjadi salah satu solusi efektif untuk mendukung proses pendidikan yang lebih interaktif dan efisien. Pelatihan ini melibatkan 30 guru dari berbagai mata pelajaran di SMA Semen Tonasa dan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, dan praktek langsung. Evaluasi pelatihan dilakukan melalui kuesioner dan observasi, yang menunjukkan bahwa 99% peserta merasalebih percaya diri dan mampu mengintegrasikan LMS dalam pembelajaran mereka. Hasil dari pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di SMA Semen Tonasa serta mendorong penggunaan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah

Abstract

Penggunaan lahan adalah kegiatan campur tangan oleh manusia terhadap lingkungan di lahan seperti ladang, pertanian, dan pemukiman penduduk baik secara permanen maupun tidak permanen dengan memanfaatkan simber daya buatan dan sumber daya alam serta digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Perubahan Penggunaan Lahan di Kecamatan Baruga dalam kurun tahun 2013-2024 terklasifikasi menjadi 5 penggunaan lahan, meliputi lahan hutan, lahan terbangun, lahan terbuka, lahan pertanian dan lahan semak. Perubahan penggunaan lahan di Kecamatan Baruga mengalami peningkatan luas dimana pada tahun 2013-2017, peningkatan luas yaitu pada penggunaan lahan terbangun seluas 208.32 Ha dan lahan terbuka seluas 67.69 Ha. Sementara itu penggunaan lahan yang mengalami penurunan luas adalah penggunaan lahan hutan seluas 38.83 Ha, lahan pertanian seluas 66.20 Ha dan lahan semak/hutan seluas 170.97 Ha atau. Demikian pula pada tahun 2027-2024 penggunaan lahan di Kecamatan Baruga mengalami peningkatan luas pada penggunaan lahan terbangun seluas 235.62 Ha dan lahan terbuka seluas 51.04 Ha atau. Sementara itu penggunaan lahan yang mengalami penurunan luas adalah penggunaan lahan hutan seluas 48.60 Ha, lahan pertanian seluas 85.86 Ha dan lahan semak/hutan seluas 152.19 Ha atau (-4.15%).

Abstract

This article describes the traditional food in Ciparigi Village, a type of tape (peuyeum).  Peuyeum as a traditional food has different uniqueness in each region. The people of Ciparigi Village have their own uniqueness in making peuyeum. The glutinous rice that has been boiled is then wrapped using dukuh leaves to resemble a koroto / kroto / krangge anthill so it is called peuyeum koroto. The existence of peuyem koroto has now begun to experience marginalisation in the community. In addition to the description of the making, this study reviews the character meanings contained in peuyem koroto including religious values, environmental care, and creativity. The implication of this study is that the universal religious values and environmental awareness need to be maintained and campaigned more massively. In addition, the idea of creativity of peuyum makers needs to be supported by many parties, especially in promotion and marketing.

Abstract

The existence of land use around rivers can affect the quality of river water. Various land uses, such as agricultural land and residential areas, accompanied by diverse activities such as sago processing, washing, and bathing, can impact river quality and public health risks. This study aims to determine the water quality status of the Belalo River in Lasolo District, North Konawe Regency, using the pollution index method as regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 115 of 2003 concerning Guidelines for Determining Water Quality Status. This research method refers to the class II quality standards set out in the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Administration of Environmental Protection and Management. The research was conducted in June 2025. The results of this study indicate that Station I falls into the category of meeting quality standards with a Pollution Index value of 0.51. Station II falls into the category of meeting quality standards with a Pollution Index value of 0.48, and Station III falls into the category of meeting quality standards with a Pollution Index value of 0.85. The parameter that does not meet class II quality standards is a chemical parameter, namely Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), which is present at Station III.
