Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the factors that caused a performance decline on reservation employees back in 2021 and formulate appropriate strategies to improve reservation employee performance at Hotel XYZ. This study used a qualitative approach and research data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results showed that reservation employees at Hotel XYZ experienced a performance decline because of the following: 1). decreased work motivation, 2). awards that were not fully obtained as a form of appreciation from the organization and leader, and 3). the leadership role of the Director of Revenue and Reservation, who had not been effective because it was not by the nature and personality of the employees. Based on the research results, several things could be done to improve the performance of reservation employees. The organization is expected to provide employees with full basic salary and overtime wages and bring back family gatherings. Leaders are expected to give praise for employee achievements and boost employee confidence. Keywords: Employee Performance, Strategic Formulation, Reservation

Abstract

This writing is descriptive qualitative study which is aimed to identify the tourism interests and supporting facilities needed by international tourists taking a cycling package tour in Petak Kaja Village. The study is a type of village or rural area tourism development based on the theory of sustainable community based tourism. Data were collected through interview with 15 tourists taking cycling tour program in Peta Village. The result shows that the tourists taking part in this cycling package tour found some village attributes such as the local people, their daily life, the landscape beauty, village rice fields, local ceremonies, village houses, temples and schools are interesting. Meanwhile environment cleanliness, village traffic and quality of village roads are less interesting. The landscape beauty is most interesting and the village traffic is the least interesting. They urgently need clean and hygienic toilets and clear and good quality of water which they can use in the houses of local people. The results showed brought about some practical implication namely the need to provide and improve the facilities needed by the tourist and the cleanliness.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of transactional leadership style and motivation on employee performance at Hotel Vila Lumbung. Quantitative descriptive research is this type of research. The sampling technique in this study was saturated sampling, because the total population and number of samples in this study were the same, namely 38 employees of Hotel Vila Lumbung. Data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires with the analysis technique of multiple linear regression methods. The transactional leadership style in this study has a significant effect on employee performance at Hotel Vila Lumbung, because the transactional leadership style is used by Hotel Vila Lumbung to achieve goals efficiently, by motivating their subordinates to carry out tasks related to work results and giving awards. . Motivation in this study has a significant effect on employee performance at Hotel Vila Lumbung, because work motivation includes providing attractive career paths or promotions for employees which will affect high employee performance. Leaders at Hotel Vila Lumbung are expected to be able to guide, educate, protect and delight so that their employees can be happy and follow what their superiors order. Hotel Vila Lumbung needs to pay attention to work motivation so that work performance is higher. Keywords: Transactional Leadership Style, Motivation, Employee Performance

Abstract

One form of tourism that has grown significantly around the world is educational tourism. The potential of Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) as an educational tourism destination offering educational experiences is discussed in this study. The study's methodology is a qualitative one because the issues under investigation concern actors in the tourism and education industries' attitudes and perspectives on BIPA as one of Bali's main interests for international tourists. Data were collected by interviewing a number of key informants including the BIPA program director of the Balai Bahasa Bali, BIPA teachers, a faculty member who is also involved in an international program at Udayana University, a number of individuals involved in the tourism industry, including the current and previous president of the Indonesian Tour Guide Association, tourism observers, and academics. The study's findings indicate that BIPA has the potential to become one of Bali's top draws for visitors looking to learn the Balinese and Indonesian languages.

Abstract

The linguistic landscape has attracted the interest of many language researchers recently. One area of study that has not received much attention is the linguistic landscape of restaurants. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the linguistic landscape of food stalls in Melasti Beach, Bali. Data was obtained by taking photos using a cell phone camera against signboards, banners and menu lists displayed in front of the restaurant. A total of 43 photos were collected and there were 144 items analyzed. then categorized based on the language used. The results of the study found that the use of language in the linguistic landscape at Melasti Beach was dominated by the use of Indonesian and followed by English and other foreign languages. There is the phenomenon of bilingualism and multilingualism. This linguistic landscape is in line with tourists visiting Melasti Beach.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the tourist behavior of State Civil Servants of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires via Google form to staff. Of the fifty (50) people who were asked to fill in, as many as forty-one (41) or 82% filled it out. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and the findings from this study were that the tourist behavior of state civil servants at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy varied greatly. Most of the respondents travel between three to 6 times a year, like nature tourism, plan their trips within a week or less and between 3 to 6 months, travel between 2 to 3 days and between 4 to 6 days. Sources of information for their holidays mostly come from social media and from friends or colleagues. Most of them like to travel with their families and a few travels with friends, but no one travels alone.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat dan fasilitas pendukung pariwisata yang dibutuhkan oleh wisatawan mancanegara yang mengikuti paket wisata bersepeda di Desa Petak Kaja. Penelitian tersebut merupakan jenis pengembangan pariwisata pedesaan atau pedesaan berdasarkan teori pariwisata berbasis masyarakat yang berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wisatawan yang mengikuti paket wisata bersepeda ini menemukan beberapa atribut desa seperti masyarakat sekitar, kehidupan sehari-hari, keindahan pemandangan, persawahan desa, upacara adat, rumah desa, pura dan sekolah yang menarik. Sedangkan kebersihan lingkungan, lalu lintas desa dan kualitas jalan desa kurang menarik. Keindahan lanskap paling menarik dan lalu lintas desa paling tidak menarik. Mereka sangat membutuhkan toilet yang bersih dan higienis serta air yang jernih dan berkualitas yang dapat mereka gunakan di rumah-rumah penduduk setempat.

Abstract

This research aimed at analyzing the choices of words or terms used for commercial accommodation in Sayan Tourism Village, Bali. The data were collected by taking pictures of accommodation signages using handphone camera. The data were then selected and a number of 107 pictures were appropriate to be analyzed. Firstly, they were classifiedon the bases of similarity in choice of words and languages used and quantitatively presented. Secondly, they were analyzed using qualitative approach. The results showed that there were 21 (twenty-one) variations used in signages or name plaques to refer to accommodation namely: Cottage, Kubu, Pondok, Puri, Rumah, Bungalow, Villa, Resort, House, Guesthouse, House, Accommodation, Casa, combination of Kubu and House, Kubu and Villa, Pondokand Griya, Pondokand Guest House, Pondok and Villa, Casaand Villa, Villa and Rumah, and using name only without word representing accommodation. It was also found out thatmultilingualism existed in the naming of accommodation, by using Balinese, Indonesian, English and Italian. The term “villa” wasthe most frequently used then followed by “pondok”, and “house”. The other terms were not used as many as these three terms. Abstract

Many studies have demonstrated a large impact on the job satisfaction and the way it influences productivity of employee or staff performance in order to increase hotel performance. This research is focused on analyzing employee job satisfaction level at InterContinental Bali Resort using Gruneberg Job Satisfaction Model as main theory. The data on this study gathered by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews. After that, the result of it will be analyzed in quantitative and qualitative methods. The result from the research is most employees in Food & Beverage Service at Intercontinental Bali Resort are satisfied with the indicators stated by Gruneberg theory, however some improvements was addressed and findings were discussed.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of internal communication and work motivation on improving employee performance at Central Events. Method: The method of this research is quantitative, analyzed using Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) 25, with data analysis techniques using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. Data collection was obtained from 33 respondents using saturated sampling through the distribution of questionnaires and documentation studies. Result: The results of the research partially showed that the internal communication variable had no positive and significant effect on employee performance with a value of tcount 1.226 < ttable 2.042 and a significance value of 0.230 > 0.05, meanwhile the work motivation variable had a positive but not significant effect on employee performance with a value of tcount 2.475 > ttable 2.042 and a significance value of 0.019 > 0.05. The results of the research simultaneously showed that the variables of internal communication and work motivation had a positive and significant effect on the performance of Central Events employees with a value of fcount 24.360> ftable 3.316 and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Contribution: Suggestions for improvement that can be given are that leaders should regularly hold meetings, make new policies to provide training and development on a regular basis and make policies that regulate working hours and sanctions for employees to create harmonious relationships, improve discipline, quality and employee performance..
