Abstract

Human activities in coastal waters such as transportation, industry, tourism, settlements, and agriculture are the main factors that cause changes in water quality. Changes in water quality can be the beginning of pollution if the value of the water quality parameter has exceeded the seawater quality standard. One form of marine pollution is heavy metal pollution, and the metal most commonly found in coastal waters is lead (Pb). Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the content of lead (Pb) on the coastal of Kupa Kupa Village, South Tobelo District, North Halmahera Regency. In this study, sampling was carried out using the purposive sampling method, where the water samples used were taken at predetermined points along the coastal waters of Kupa Kupa Village, South Tobelo District, North Halmahera Regency. Sampling of seawater was carried out using a sampling pole with a water depth of 5 m, then the samples were analyzed according to SNI 6989.8.2009. The results of the analysis are then described qualitatively. The results showed that the quality of the coastal waters of Kupa Kupa Village ranged from 32 – 34°C, salinity 27 – 34 ppt, pH 8.9 – 9.3, DO 7.88 – 7.91 mg/l, brightness 1 – 5.9 m, and current 0.05 – 0.12 ms-1. Meanwhile, the concentration of lead (Pb) in water in the coastal waters of Kupa Kupa Village, South Tobelo District, which is in the range of 0.50-0.78 mg/L, where this concentration has exceeded the seawater quality standards. Thus, the coastal waters of Kupa Kupa Village have been contaminated with lead metal which will be threatening for the life of marine biota and will also have an impact on human health.

Abstract

The increasing Blue swimming crab/BSC fishing activity is a response to the high demand of the international market. One of the potential coastal waters for BSC capture fisheries is Pati Regency. However, biological information related to BSC resources is still limited in this area. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of BSC fishing and the size structure of the caught BSC. The study was conducted from December 2020 to March 2021. The method of data collection is observation and interview with fishermen, while the analysis is carried out descriptively. The location of BSC fishing is divided into 3 zones. The characteristics of BSC fishing locations include those related to the distance from the coastline, technical aspects and types of fishing gear, as well as the operational system of capture. The distance from the coastline in zone 1 is about 1-2 miles, zone 2 is about 2-3 miles, and zone 3 is more than 3 miles. The types of fishing gear used in zone 1 are bottom gill net, zone 2 and zone 3 are trapnet. The operational system of capture in zone 1 and zone 2 is carried out with daily trips, while in zone 3 it is carried out with weekly trips (babang). The distribution of carapace width sizes in zone 1 ranges from 44.00-139.00 mm (average 104.80±11.00 mm), in zone 2 it ranges from 72.10-138.00 mm (average 107.90±12.30 mm), and in zone 3 it ranges from 101.40-177.60 mm (average 126.50±11.50 mm).

Abstract

Trichiurus lepturus has an important role at the tropic level and is an economically important fish. The purpose of this study was to examine management indicators in the form of time series of catches per effort (CPUE), asymptotic length over time, exploitation rate, ratio of first caught length (Lc) to first gonad maturity length (Lm), and spawning potential ratio (SPR). ). The research was conducted in the Sunda Strait, samples of fish landed at PPP Labuan, Banten. The analytical method used is long frequency analysis, surplus production model, and SPR analysis. The number of male and female fish observed was 396 and 299 respectively. The minimum length of male layur fish is 438 mm and 421 mm for females. The maximum length of the male layur is 843 mm and the female is 773 mm. CPUE results tend to increase from 0.416 in 2014 to 1.043 in 2019. The exploitation rate (E) of fish is 0.85 which indicates that it has experienced over exploitation. Asymptotic length 938.33 mm. The whitefish caught for the first time at Lc = 579.5 mm had an SPR of 13.10% and at Lm = 718.5 mm it had a fairly high SPR of 31.7%. Catch size occurs before layur fish spawn. SPR below the biological reference point. However, in 2019 there was an increase in catches allegedly due to a pause in fishing due to the tsunami in 2018.

Abstract

Abstract

Juaro (Pangasius polyuranodon) are found in the Kampar River and Siak River in Riau Province. The waters of the Kampar river are still in accordance with the quality standards and the waters of the Siak River are indicated by liquid waste pollution as evidenced by the results of air quality measurements, namely free CO2, BOD, Phosphate which are below the quality standard according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. Decreased air quality can affect fish growth. and from the circular pattern of otolith growth. This study aims to determine the growth pattern of juaro fish in the waters of the Kampar and Siak rivers. This research was conducted in March – June 2019. The research method used a survey method. The otolith was sharpened using the Windarti (2013) method to see the growth circle pattern. Furthermore, the pattern and number of Dark Growth Circles (LPG) were seen using a microscope. 60 fish samples were taken (30 fish from the Kampar River and 30 from the Siak River). The results of the study showed that the LGP muscle of juaro fish from the Kampar River had 1 dark circle, while in the Siak River the darkest circle opened 3 pieces. These results concluded that the growth rate of juaro fish in the Kampar River and Siak River had experienced obstacles/disruptions in their lives.

Abstract

Pulau Banyak and Pulau Banyak Barat Districts. play an active role in advancing capture fisheries production, this can be seen from the larger number and size of vessels operated so as to produce larger capture fisheries production. To land and sell their catch, many private entrepreneurs do it in their private holdings, not in government-owned fishing ports. This Tangkahan generally has relatively little land and facilities, but the activities and production are relatively large. This study aims to analyze the catch landed on the Tangkahans of Banyak Island, Aceh Singkil and make a map of the location of the Tangkahans in Pulau Banyak, Aceh Singkil. The method used is in 2 stages, the first stage is conducting a field survey using interview questionnaires, and the second stage is collecting field data (coordinate points of Tangkahan, types of catches and aerial photos of Tangkahan Island many). The location of the research is on Banyak Island, Aceh Singkil. The results of the study showed that there were 12 Tangkahans in Pulawa many, of which 8 units were in Baguk Village and 4 units were in Balai Desai. The catches that landed consisted of Squid, Dencis Fish, Tuna, Coral Anchovy and others. This is because the fishing gear used by Pulau Banyak fishermen is dominated by Bagan.

Abstract

The aims of the study were: (1) to test the metal content in green mussels; (2) testing the metal content in seawater for aquaculture activties; and (3) calculating green mussel business income. The research was conducted in May-July 2022 at four locations, three locations in the green mussel cultivation area and the fourth location in the green mussel collection area owned by a fisherman. Selection of sampling locations by purposive sampling. Primary data was collected by field survey methods and interviews with 9 green mussel cultivators. Secondary data was obtained from the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Tangerang Regency and scientific publications, including other research supporting data. Data analysis of metal content in green mussels according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 7387-2009; Analysis of heavy metal content in seawater refers to the government regulation No 22 of 2021 concerning on the implementation of environmental protection and management seawater quality standards, especially for marine life; identification of trap catches was analyzed descriptively; analysis of green mussels chart business income using net income (????), R/C ratio, and payback period. The results showed that the metal content in green mussels at location 1 exceeded the threshold value compared to the other three locations; all metal content in sea water does not exceed the threshold value. This means that the mussels can still be consumed by the public and the waters are good for mussel cultivation. Mud grouper is the main catch of traps associated with green mussel cultivation sites and the highest R/C in respondents No. 1 and 6 with a payback period of <3 years, showing that the rate of return on business capital is categorized as fast.
