Abstract

Students' mathematical problem-solving ability at MTs Manba'ul Ulum was still relatively low, indicated by the difficulty most students had in responding to questions related to the information given in the problems, as well as their tendency to rely on friends' help instead of independently writing down a solution plan. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Padlet media in supporting junior high school students' problem-solving ability, reviewed from teacher activity, student activity, and students' problem-solving ability, each of which was required to be at least in the good category. This study used a quantitative method with a one-shot case study design. The population of this study was seventh-grade students of MTs Manba'ul Ulum Gondang, with the sample determined using a purposive sampling technique, namely class VII-C consisting of 20 students. Data collection techniques used observation sheets to observe teacher and student activities, as well as a test to measure students' problem-solving ability. The results showed that teacher activity obtained a percentage of 92.59% in the very good category, student activity obtained a percentage of 86.50% in the very good category, and the problem-solving ability test results showed that 16 out of 20 students obtained scores in the minimum good category, with a classical percentage of 80%. Thus, it could be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Padlet media was effective in supporting students' problem-solving ability

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the participation patterns of second-grade students in Pancasila Education learning on the topic of Pancasila Values through the implementation of the Talking Stick method at SDN Banjarbendo. The study was motivated by the varying levels of student participation in classroom learning, particularly in terms of speaking confidence and involvement during learning activities. The Talking Stick method was selected because it provides equal opportunities for students to speak and actively engage in the learning process. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The participants consisted of second-grade students, the classroom teacher, and the school principal. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that student participation patterns were manifested in two main forms: verbal and nonverbal participation. Verbal participation was reflected in students’ ability to answer questions, express opinions, and respond to learning materials. Based on the intensity of involvement, verbal participation was categorized into active, moderate, and low levels. Meanwhile, nonverbal participation was demonstrated through attention to teachers and peers, eye contact, enthusiastic expressions, readiness to receive the talking stick, and physical responses during learning activities. The Talking Stick method created a more interactive learning environment, provided equal speaking opportunities, and encouraged students’ engagement in understanding and applying Pancasila values. Therefore, the Talking Stick method contributed to fostering a more participatory and meaningful Pancasila Education learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of organizational culture, interpersonal communication, and conflict management on the effectiveness of decision making at private vocational high schools in Pamulang District, both partially and simultaneously. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational survey method. The population and sample of this study consisted of 154 respondents, namely teachers at private vocational high schools in Pamulang District. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression techniques with the assistance of SPSS software. The results show that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of decision making by 32.1% (R = 0.566; t = 8.473; p < 0.001); interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect by 42.5% (R = 0.652; t = 10.597; p < 0.001); and conflict management has a positive and significant effect by 60.7% (R = 0.779; t = 15.314; p < 0.001) and is the most dominant variable. Simultaneously, the three variables have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of decision making by 61.8% (R = 0.786; F = 80.331; p < 0.001), while the remaining 38.2% is influenced by other factors outside this study. The results of the multiple regression test and the Effective Contribution calculation show that conflict management provides the largest contribution (52.12%), while organizational culture no longer provides a significant unique contribution when analyzed together with the other two variables. This study concludes that conflict management is a key factor in improving the effectiveness of decision making at private vocational high schools, so it is recommended that schools strengthen constructive conflict management mechanisms to support a more effective decision-making process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and body shaming among students. Self-esteem is an individual's evaluation of themselves, influencing how they think, behave, and interact with their environment. Meanwhile, body shaming involves making negative comments or judgments regarding a person's body shape, size, or physical appearance, which can impact an individual's psychological well-being. This study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The study population consists of all Grade X students at SMA Al-Washliyah 3 Medan. A sample of 18 students was selected from a total of 90 using purposive sampling based on criteria established by the researcher. Data collection utilized a Likert-scale questionnaire designed to measure the two research variables: self-esteem and body shaming. Data were analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique to examine the relationship between the variables. The results indicate a significant relationship between self-esteem and body shaming among students, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.79 and a significance value of p < 0.05. Based on the interpretation of the correlation coefficient, the relationship between the two variables falls into the moderate category. These findings demonstrate a link between self-esteem and the body shaming experienced by students. Therefore, efforts are required from the school-specifically guidance and counseling teachers-to provide services that boost self-esteem and prevent body shaming behavior within the school environment.

Abstract

Body shaming is an act of criticizing a person's physical appearance that can affect self-confidence, particularly among adolescents who are in the stage of developing their self-identity. However, not all adolescents who experience body shaming suffer a decline in self-confidence. This study aims to determine the relationship between body shaming and self-confidence among adolescents. It employs a quantitative research method with a correlational design. A sample of 15 tenth-grade students from the Karya Pembangunan Deli Tua Educational Foundation (2026) was selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires measuring body shaming and self-confidence, both of which had undergone validity testing. The results showed a significance value (p) of 0.001 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.259. Based on the correlation coefficient, it can be concluded that higher levels of body shaming are associated with lower levels of self-confidence among students at the Karya Pembangunan Deli Tua High School; conversely, lower levels of body shaming are associated with higher levels of self-confidence. This interpretation is based on the correlation coefficient guidelines provided by Sugiyono (2022). These findings indicate that adolescent self-confidence is influenced not only by negative experiences but also by other factors, such as self-acceptance and social support.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning interest of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Qu Al-Amaliyah Karawang, as indicated by their limited attention, interest, enjoyment, and active participation during learning activities. The study aimed to determine children's learning interest before and after the implementation of the movement and song method and to identify the differences in learning interest following the intervention. This study employed a quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 22 children aged 5–6 years from Group B at PAUD Qu Al-Amaliyah Karawang. Data were collected through an observation checklist of learning interest and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Paired Sample t-test. The results showed that the mean pretest score of children's learning interest was 40.23, which increased to 66.45 after the implementation of the movement and song method (posttest). The hypothesis test yielded a t-value of -65.713 with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. The findings indicate an improvement in children's learning interest following the implementation of the movement and song method, as reflected in increased attention, interest, enjoyment, and active participation during learning activities. However, because this study employed a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design without a control group, the findings indicate an improvement after the intervention but cannot entirely rule out the influence of other factors, such as maturation, testing effects, or classroom conditions. Therefore, the movement and song method has the potential to support the improvement of learning interest among children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Qu Al-Amaliyah Karawang.
