Abstract

This research is motivated by students' low understanding of geography, particularly the lithosphere. This is due to the continued dominance of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students in the learning process. Students tend to be passive and struggle to understand the material because the learning does not align with their learning styles. This research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were students in phase E at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti in the 2024-2025 academic year, consisting of 10 phases with a total of 354 students. The sample in this study was phase E1 as the experimental phase and phase E4 as the control phase. Based on the t-test results obtained, the significance value was 0.025 <0.05, meaning Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the SAVI-based learning model has a significant effect on the understanding of geography learning among students in phase E at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti.

Abstract

Globalization has posed significant challenges to preserving Islamic values among younger generations. This study aims to identify strategies for instilling Islamic values through curriculum and school culture at SD Islam Al-Furqon Sukahayu Sumedang. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through document studies, in-depth interviews, and direct observation. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validation carried out via source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that the school integrates Islamic values within the curriculum by dominating Islamic subjects, habituating Qur’an memorization (tahfidz), and scheduling that aligns with an Islamic lifestyle. As introduced by Philip W. Jackson, the hidden curriculum concept is evident in the cultivation of values through time management, teacher-student interaction, and a learning environment that nurtures Islamic character without direct instruction. Islamic values are also embedded in school culture, including congregational prayers, dhikr, Friday charity, and the early habituation of wearing modest clothing. Supporting factors include teacher development programs by the foundation, parental involvement in religious activities, and partnerships with institutions such as Baznas. Challenges include limited classroom space and suboptimal administrative communication systems between the school and parents. This study recommends improving physical facilities and developing a reporting system for religious activities to enhance the consistency and sustainability of Islamic values education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the numeracy literacy skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Rancakalong. Numeracy literacy is a fundamental skill necessary for understanding and applying mathematical concepts in daily life. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research sample consists of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a numeracy literacy test, which includes three main indicators: number understanding, data interpretation, and solving numerical problems. The results show that the majority of students fall into the "sufficient" (33.33%) and "low" (30%) categories, with an overall average score of 45. Although there are a few students in the "good" and "very good" categories, their numbers are relatively small (6.67%). Factors contributing to the low numeracy literacy skills include a lack of connection between the test questions and real-life contexts, low learning motivation, and teaching methods that remain too theoretical. This study recommends the implementation of context-based learning, the use of technology in education, and training for teachers to enhance students' numeracy literacy. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of more effective teaching strategies to improve numeracy literacy at the primary education level.

Abstract

This study aims to analize the effectiveness of the e-module assisted discovery learning model on critical thinking skills and to describe students' critical thinking skills in terms of learning independence. The research design used was a mixed method design with an exploratory sequential design. The subjects were fifth-grade elementary school students in Paninggaran, Pekalongan. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation to obtain comprehensive information. Based on the results of the research data analysis, it was concluded that learning with the e-module-assisted discovery learning model was proven effective, there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills and independence after participating in the e-module-assisted discovery learning, and there was a relationship between the level of critical thinking skills and student independence. In addition, students with high ability categories were able to demonstrate optimal performance in all critical thinking indicators because they had mature learning independence. Students in the medium category show developing abilities, but still require teacher guidance, students in the low category face significant obstacles in every aspect of critical thinking and low learning independence. Suggestions based on the results of this study are that teachers need to provide intensive guidance, directed feedback, and reflective thinking exercises consistently to students with medium and low critical thinking abilities, to help them develop critical thinking abilities and learning independence. Schools need to design habituation programs that encourage the growth of critical thinking abilities and student learning independence, through reflective activities, group discussions, and modeling critical thinking strategies.

Abstract

This research is based on the low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts in the material of plane figures. Students still have difficulty in understanding the concepts learned because the choice of learning approaches is not appropriate. The implementation of learning has not focused students to reconstruct their own knowledge, so there is a need for innovation in learning to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the RME approach assisted by geoboard on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in the material of plane figures. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control-group design. The population in this study were all fourth-grade elementary school students in Paseh District. Using a purposive sampling technique, SD Negeri Paseh 1 was selected as the experimental class and SD Negeri Cileuksa as the control class. The instruments used was mathematical concept understanding questions. Based on the research results, the average increase in pretest to posttest results for the experimental class was 38.5 while the control class was 29.89. The RME approach assisted by geoboard has a positive influence on the ability to understand mathematical concepts with an N-Gain value of 0.62. Likewise, the conventional approach has a positive influence on the ability to understand mathematical concepts with an N-Gain value of 0.45. In this case, there is a difference in the influence of the geoboard-assisted RME approach and conventional learning on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.
