Abstract

The target community in this PKM is elementary school teachers in Pontianak City. From the interviews, information was obtained that many teachers thought that efforts to improve their students’ abilities and skills in reading, writing and taking notes were solely the task of language teachers (Indonesian and/or English). This assumption needs to be straightened out. The dense content of teaching materials and limited face-to-face time are the reasons why many teachers do not integrate these two basic activities - reading and writing - in the classroom learning process. Teachers admitted that they rarely, if not never, train students to read using the SQ3R technique in science learning at school. This PKM activity is expected to provide additional insight for elementary school teachers in applying the SQ3R reading technique in science learning, recognizing the structure of reading texts, and making graphic post-organizer notes so that they can be applied in learning teaching materials at school. In the end, it is also hoped that the training can improve the quality of the results and processes of science and science learning in schools. Many research results conclude that learning activities that apply SQ3R are more active and the retention of learning outcomes is better (significantly different) compared to ordinary learning activities (mere lectures). This PKM training activity had been able to increase teachers' understanding of the application of the SQ3R reading technique in science and science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

PT. Bosowa Isuma has a pond area of 157 ha and has been carrying out operational activities since 2010. Pond cultivation that is carried out continuously results in a decrease in land carrying capacity and will ultimately have an impact on the productivity of pond cultivation. The purpose of this activity is to maintain and improve the carrying capacity of pond land by planting mangroves along the river mouth of Borimasunggu Village. The implementation method is by conducting counseling and planting mangroves along the river mouth of Borimasunggu Village. The organizers of the activity were lecturers from the University of Bosowa, technicians from PT. Bosowa Isuma and 7 students of the MBKM Program. The result of the activity was counseling and planting of 500 Rhizopora apiculata mangrove seedlings along the river mouth of Borimasunggu Village. The resulting output is the planting of 500 Rhizopora apiculata mangrove seedlings along the river mouth of Borimasunggu Village, students gain sufficient knowledge and skills about planting mangrove plants and gain experience of 20 credits outside the campus and lecturers can carry out Tri dharma activities, namely carrying out community service. Mangrove planting can provide dual benefits both in terms of economy and environment, in the sense that production can increase and benefit farmers and the balance of the carrying capacity of pond land can be created/maintained.

Abstract

In general delays in promotion to lecturer rank are caused by two things, namely factors from the lecturers themselves and administrative system factors that were less supportive. Even though the rank and position of a lecturer will affect the quality of learning in tertiary institutions, it will even affect the accreditation of study programs. The objectives of this activity are: To provide education to lecturers in the PMIPA department about the flow/procedure and calculation of the credit score for each component for promotions and positions. The methods in the activities are lectures, discussions and questions and answers. To determine the participants' understanding of the socialization material by distributing a questionnaire on Google Forms. From the results of the evaluation carried out on the content presented at the Operational Guide to Credit Score Assessment socialization the most satisfied the participants as well as the benefits and interesting and informative presentation of the material. The level of understanding of the participants on the socialization material was generally satisfactory. The lecturers enthusiastically participated in the socialization from the start to the end of the event and with the many questions asked. To make it easier to archive documents and administration for Tridharma activities that have been carried out from the start, they have been separated so that it is easy to find when proposing them. A team needs to be formed by the Faculty to assist in the administrative process of lecturer promotion so that it can motivate lecturers to apply for a rank.

Abstract

In Kurikulum Merdeka, English becomes one of the compulsory subjects at elementary school level after being abolished in the previous curriculum. This is a challenge in itself for teachers in elementary schools. This is because English subjects in elementary schools are usually taught by each class teacher. Based on the results of observations in three elementary schools in Sukahaji District, Majalengka Regency, class teachers experienced difficulties in delivering English materials to students. Therefore, this service community aims to provide English language learning training based on the Kurikulum Merdeka. The targets of this service activity are elementary school teachers in Sukahaji District, Majalengka Regency. This training was carried out through focus group discussions regarding English language learning models for young learners based on Kurikulum Merdeka, textbook reviews, and basic skills training related to pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. At the end of the activity, teachers were grouped and asked to prepare teaching modules that were relevant to Kurikulum Merdeka. Based on the design of the teaching modules prepared after this training activity, the learning models used are more varied, such as the use of discovery learning models, project-based learning, problem-based learning, and inquiry learning. Apart from that, the existence of additional references apart from application-based or web-based textbooks is an added value regarding the digital literacy possessed by teachers.

Abstract

The majority of the people in Tebang Kacang village are Madurese who were displaced since the riots between the Madurese and Dayak ethnic groups in West Kalimantan in 2001. Until now, the Madurese people live in the village with very limited land available so that it is not possible to carry out agricultural cultivation which requires large land scale. This community service activity aims to increase knowledge and skills on how to make kokedama from moss and coco fiber for ornamental plants, increase knowledge about how to market kokedama products today. Implementation of service activities to empower housewives is carried out using lecture, discussion and demonstration methods. As a result of this service activity, overall participants liked the method of cultivating ornamental plants using the kokedama technique with a division of 14% preferring cultivation using the kokedama technique, 27% preferring cultivation using plastic flower pots and 53% preferred a combination of both.Pelatihan Budidaya Tanaman Hias dengan Teknik  Kokedama Di Desa Tebang Kacang Kabupaten Kubu RayaABSTRAKMasyarakat desa Tebang Kacang mayoritas adalah suku Madura yang mengungsi sejak   kerusuhan antar etnis Madura dan Dayak di Kalimantan Barat tahun 2001.
