Abstract

One of the nutritional problems that is still quite high in Indonesia is stunting. Stunting is a growth and development disorder in children caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections, characterized by height for age (TB/U) or body length for age (PB/U) less than -2 SD. The prevalence of stunting under five in Kalora Village, Kinovaro District, Sigi Regency has increased by 9% from 2020-2021. The purpose of this activity is to help integrate the implementation of interventions to reduce stunting in Kinovaro District, especially Kalora Village, by carrying out nutritional interventions in the form of demonstrating the making of Moringa pudding to Posyandu cadres, introducing and providing additional food for Moringa pudding accompanied by providing information related to the benefits of consuming Moringa to toddlers, school-age children, teenagers or WUS, and pregnant women. The demonstration activity went smoothly and the provision of Moringa pudding was well received.

Abstract

This activity was carried out because the lack of knowledge about medicinal plants in SMA and SMK Bhakti Idhata students. Their knowledge about it is limited only what is taught in school. Meanwhile the knowledge about medicinal plants is very important for them, both for direct use- as the cases of degenerative diseases increase among young generation- and for conservation. Beside this is also part of the culture of Betawi people, that needs to be preserved. The purpose of it is to give the knowledge about the types and utilities of medicinal plants to students and motivate them to participate in preserving the plants around them. The method is by lectured and discussions using power point media, boolets and interspersed with games. The results of counseling was not too much of students enthusiasm with this activity, so needed to be carried out in the next with more interesting methods and media.

Abstract

Al-Karimah Kindergarten (TK) Is one of the kindergarten schools in the handsome sub-district of Pekanbaru City. The number of children participating in healthy exercise is 25 people, this is due to maintaining their health after the pandemic. the implementation of children's motor guidance service activities through healthy gymnastics at Al-Karimah Kindergarten Pekanbaru aims to improve children's motor skills through healthy gymnastics. This service is carried out through the Hero University research and community service center in collaboration with the principal of the Al-Karimah Kindergarten. The results obtained by this activity are through healthy gymnastic movements that can improve the motor skills of children in Al-Karimah Kindergarten. And can help teachers in solving problems that exist in kindergarten.

Abstract

Complementary medicine is a type of treatment that can be used as an option by the community in the midst of the existence of conventional medicine, but in fact there are still many people who do not really know and experience complementary medicine in the firsthand. The purpose of this community service is to provide an introduction, understanding, and experience to the people of Wonosari Village regarding complementary therapies, especially acupuncture as way to improve health status. This community service consists of four activities: education on various complementary therapies, introduction and administration of acupuncture therapy, health checks and treatment education, and also education and mental health examinations. Based on the results of the evaluation, all participants rated this service activity were very useful, the participants became more familiar with the types of complementary therapies, especially being able to feel the changes after getting acupuncture therapy directly. Participants were also very happy and greatly helped by the existence of health checks and medical education as well as mental health as part of the supporting activities in this community service activity.

Abstract

This article discusses a community service program in Tapadaa Village. The program aims to enhance community income by focusing on plastic waste management. It involves training in waste management and the establishment of a waste bank to promote economic value and women's participation in supporting their families and empowerment. The article acknowledges the widespread use of plastic bags in Indonesia and the consequential impact of plastic waste production. This program aims to improve productivity and engagement within the Tapadaa Village community, leading to increased family income and positive community development. The methods employed include craft training using plastic waste and the creation of a waste bank. The results indicate a positive impact on community knowledge, skills, and understanding of waste management with economic value. Additionally, this initiative contributes to the knowledge and skills development of KKN students in community engagement and waste-related problem-solving. Ultimately, this article aspires to enhance family income, welfare, and reduce environmental pollution caused by plastic waste.

Abstract

Home pharmacy care on non-contagious patients is necessary to increase the quality of therapeutic outcome. This program was done in a district in Samarinda. Participant selection was done by participating of nearest primary health facility. Permissions were given from the district and the nearest health facility. Three visitations were done for determination, education, and evaluation steps. The personal education during this program shows a positive impact on the own responsibility of self adherence under drug regimen. Generally, medical examination on blood pressure, blood glucose, and others are better after effective education of this program. Education output of this program is useful to increase patient’s adherence to drug regimen and healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to assist the community in making briquettes from corncob waste and provide knowledge transfer about briquette product packaging and briquette marketing which can become a business opportunity for the PKK group in Mentasan Village, Cilacap Regency. The method used in carrying out this service is Participation Action Research (PAR). The PAR approach emphasizes solving problems and meeting the practical needs of the community, as well as producing knowledge. The problem that is being solved with the community is related to the accumulation of corncob waste and the production of knowledge in the form of briquette products as well as the transfer of knowledge about how briquettes can have business opportunities through stimulus through counseling on packaging and marketing of briquette products. The results of the dedication show that partners have been able to make corncob waste briquettes independently and have a better understanding of how to package and market briquette products.

Abstract

At present energy sources are dominated by non-renewable materials which will run out over time, so it is important to introduce elements of society about renewable energy sources that can be obtained from the environment such as biomass from agricultural waste. Kampung Lantosan, Desa Gunung Bayu with a majority population of oil palm farmers as partners have not utilized organic waste when harvesting oil palm so that it accumulates and disturbs the comfort of the environment. PkM activities carried out in partner areas consist of counseling and training on the utilization of organic waste into energy. Through counseling and training activities regarding the processing of palm oil agricultural waste, partners have knowledge about the benefits of organic waste as an energy source and the ability to process organic waste into biopellets. The resulting biopellets are used as stove fuel or fuel in the gasification process to become syngas used by power plants. In addition to that, by utilizing the waste from oil palm agricultural crops, waste is reduced and the environment becomes cleaner.

Abstract

In various studies, rosella flowers can cure various diseases, prevent disease transmission and are used as processed food or health drinks. The increasing use of rosella flowers can be a business opportunity and can improve the community's economy, but limited knowledge, skills, abilities, creativity, innovation and inadequate guidance are obstacles to the community in utilizing rosella, so training is needed to increase people's knowledge and skills in utilizing rosella. and home product development. The purpose of carrying out this activity is to increase public knowledge about rosella plants, how to make rosella flower tea and how to increase the economic value of a product. This activity was carried out using the training method, beginning with the provision of material on rosella and how to increase the economic value of a home product, followed by direct demonstrations and practice of making rosella flower tea. This activity is useful for increasing public knowledge regarding rosella plants, the use of rosella flowers, how to make rosella flower tea and how to increase the economic value of a home product.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide education to farmers in Sungai Langka Village, Pesawaran Regency regarding health care for ruminants. The main target of this activity is the etawa breeder in Sungai Langka Village. The activity method is carried out in monologue and practice. The activity began with presentation, how to identify symptoms of livestock diseases and how to handle it. Based on the results of the activities that have been carried out, farmers are very enthusiastic about the socialization material provided. This was proven by the active role of the participants, especially farmers, in the discussion session regarding how to handle livestock health which is commonly found in PE goats. After socialization are held, farmers gain knowledge about how to handle common diseases and able to apply disease control in the field. The results of this activity are expected to minimize the number of livestock deaths due to disease and the number of livestock affected by the disease can be handled properly. Decreasing diseases will contribute to increasing the productivity of ruminants, especially PE goats in Sungai Langka Village.
