PaKMas (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) juga meliputi kegiatan pengabdian, seperti: bidang ilmu pengetahuan, sosial, ekonomi, kesehatan, budaya, terapan, pengembangan TIK, dan pelayanan administrasi. Serta pelatihan dan peningkatan hasil pendidikan, pertanian, informasi dan komunikasi, pengajaran, pemberdayaan komunitas (komunitas pelajar dan pemuda) dan organisasi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan. Jurnal PaKMas terbit 2 kali setahun pada bulan Mei dan November.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance high school students' participation in responding to environmental degradation through digital platforms at SMAN 2 Parepare. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was applied to 25 students from grades XI and XII through a digital environmental education workshop that integrated environmental sociology concepts with Parepare's local realities. The program covered material on environmental crises, Generation Z's role as change agents, digital documentation techniques, and the ENGAGE Framework (Educate-Network-Generate-Amplify-Go Offline-Evaluate) for systematic environmental action. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test showed significant improvement in participants' understanding from an average score of 5.8 to 9.2 (scale of 10). A paradigm shift occurred from passive information consumers to potential active content creators, with 80% of participants reporting increased confidence in creating environmental content and 56% having formulated concrete action plans. The program successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, proving that high school students as digital natives have great potential to become environmental change agents when equipped with appropriate knowledge and systematic action frameworks, contributing to achieving Parepare City's sustainable development targets.

Abstract

Sakinah Waste Bank is one of 175 waste banks that are part of the flagship program of the Padang City Government. The community, as one of the local institutions contributing to increased participation in waste management and utilization, plays a role in reducing waste volume, enhancing environmental awareness, supporting natural resource conservation, improving environmental quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, empowering communities, enhancing quality of life, and fostering innovation and creativity among the community. Therefore, it is important to design a strategic agenda in the form of community service based on group activities to strengthen community participation in the management and utilization of waste banks. The approach used is adult education or andragogy, where the instructor acts as a facilitator responsible for facilitating the learning process for students to create a productive and harmonious atmosphere. The results of the community service show that the Sakinah Waste Bank can be utilized not only as a waste collection site but also as a learning space for the community and students in waste utilization and management. To achieve this, the Sakinah Waste Bank can establish closer collaboration with academics and utilize socialization and education as media to enhance the community's understanding and capabilities in participation and empowerment at the Sakinah Waste Bank in Batu Gadang Village, Lubuk Kilangan District, Padang City.

Abstract

Mental health disorders are increasingly recognized as a growing public health concern, particularly among the elderly population. National health survey data (Riskesdas) indicate a significant rise in the prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia. In Slawi Sub-district, Tegal Regency, the burden is considerable, with 117 active patients and 3,602 severe cases of mental illness recorded at the regency level. This community engagement program was designed to empower elderly groups, particularly members of posyandu lansia within the Prolanis program, through education, counseling, and multidisciplinary collaboration involving psychology, pharmacy, and nursing. The intervention was implemented through socialization, training, development of educational booklets, mentoring, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments. Findings demonstrated improved knowledge and more positive attitudes toward mental health among elderly participants. This program contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and aligns with the 2024 Work Plan of the Tegal Regency Health Office. Moreover, it highlights the potential of community-based empowerment interventions as a model to enhance elderly quality of life and reduce stigma toward people with mental disorders.

Abstract

The Karang Taruna youth in RT 10 RW 005, Kedoya Selatan Village, Kebon Jeruk Subdistrict, West Jakarta have the potential and motivation to work, but they do not yet have adequate access to skills development oriented towards economic capacity building. One relevant opportunity for empowering Karang Taruna youth today is to process wood waste into products of economic value through upcycling. In their residential area, there is a significant amount of waste wood from used shipping containers available, but its utilization has not been optimized. Based on these conditions, the Community Service (PkM) team of the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Universitas Trisakti held a training session on processing waste wood from shipping containers into table lamps using upcycling techniques. The participatory action research (PAR) method was applied in this training, which was attended by 10 participants, accompanied by guidance from the instructors. The training resulted in 10 functional and marketable table lamps. Based on the evaluation results, minor obstacles were identified, with 3% of all participants stating that they still had difficulties with assembly and 2% experiencing obstacles with electrical installation.

Abstract

This study aims to create a conceptual design for the revitalization of the Kali Panas Sumberjo hot spring as a sustainable tourism destination in Sumberjo Village, Widang District, Tuban Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach through Community Service activities. The Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach is used to map the potential of natural resources, MSMEs, and the social dynamics of the local community. The research results indicate that the revitalization of Kali Panas Sumberjo can focus on the concept of Wellness Tourism, which integrates health, relaxation, and tranquility through the use of mineral-rich hot spring water. A Neo-Vernacular architectural concept is proposed, incorporating traditional Joglo elements and modern materials for efficiency, thereby reflecting the local cultural identity. A branding strategy with the tagline “Joglo Happiness Hydrotherapy” is developed to strengthen digital promotion and tourist appeal. Additionally, the empowerment of local MSMEs as providers of culinary services, crafts, and accommodations serves as a supporting element for economic and social dimensions. This integrated approach is not only intended to enhance tourism potential but also to ensure sustainable economic and social benefits for the village community through a replicable development model.

Abstract

This community service program aims to develop teachers’ abilities in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning. The activity was conducted at SMK Al-Hikmah on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, and was attended by 23 teachers from various subject areas. The implementation method took the form of an interactive workshop that included material presentations, discussions, hands-on practice, and a post-test. The evaluation results showed an average score of 90.87, a median of 95, and a score range of 65–100. This indicates that most teachers have understood the basic concepts of AI, recognized its ethical implications, and demonstrated the ability to implement the technology in teaching. The high achievement of participants reflects the great potential of AI in supporting adaptive learning and personalized instruction, although a small number of teachers still require additional assistance in technical aspects. This training emphasizes that AI integration is not a replacement for the teacher’s role, but rather a reinforcement of the teacher’s function as a facilitator and learning guide. The outcomes of this activity can serve as a foundation for follow-up mentoring programs and teacher capacity development in addressing the challenges of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Klempun Village in Bojonegoro Regency relies on rice farming for income but struggles with severe infestations of rice field rats (Rattus argentiventer), which diminish yields and threaten crop failure. Conventional controls—such as chemical pesticides, electric shocks, and plastic fences—prove ineffective and pose significant health, safety, and environmental risks. To address this, the community harnesses local wisdom by constructing Owl Houses (RUBUHA) from abundant forest wood. These structures shelter barn owls (Tyto alba), natural rat predators that hunt nocturnally. Monitoring shows all RUBUHAs are occupied by owls, leading to a 30% drop in rat populations and a 60% reduction in crop damage. Consequently, rice yields have risen by 60%, and reliance on chemical pesticides has sharply declined. Beyond pest control, the initiative fosters wildlife conservation awareness and promotes ecological balance. RUBUHA thus emerges as an effective, sustainable strategy that leverages natural resources and biodiversity to enhance agricultural productivity and environmental health.

Abstract

A teacher's essential competency is the ability to teach skillfully. In this day and age, many media can be utilized to make the learning process engaging and less monotonous, including leveraging technological developments. Many early childhood education (PAUD) teachers still have limited understanding of technology, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically in storybook creation. This community service program aims to improve the competence of PAUD teachers in creating storybooks using AI. By being able to create their own storybooks, teachers are no longer entirely dependent on books available on the market. They can adapt stories to suit students' needs and develop more personalized and innovative learning resources. Therefore, PAUD teachers in Palu City must be trained in creating storybooks using AI. The method used to address the problems experienced by partners is a training method using experiential learning techniques. The learning method consists of a pretest-posttest design with 15 participants. The results of the community service were analyzed using a descriptive quantitative approach. The results of the community service program found a significant increase in AI conceptual knowledge by 69.2%, technical skills by 93.2%, and perception and application by 68.6%. This activity successfully improved teachers' competence in using artificial intelligence to create learning media.

Abstract

Legal counseling activities on strengthening understanding in the teacher professional code of ethics aim to increase teachers’ awareness and understanding of legal aspects that regulate responsibilities, rights, obligations, and consequences of violations of the professional code of ethics. Lack of understanding of legal regulations often leads to ethical violations that have an impact on the professionalism and image of teachers as educators. Therefore, this activity provides comprehensive and applicable knowledge through several methods, problem identification, interactive discussion counseling, case simulation, and evaluation and follow-up. This service activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Luwuk which was attended by 25 teachers as participants. The main achievements of this activity include increasing teachers’ understanding of the code of ethics and its legal aspects, the establishment of a legal consultation forum for teachers, and reducing the potential for violations in the school environment. With this activity, it is hoped that teachers will be able to apply the code of ethics professionally, understand the legal consequences of violations, and build a strong legal culture in the educational environment. This counseling is a concrete step in creating an educational environment with integrity, accountability, and in accordance with applicable legal norms.

Abstract

Marriage is a legal bond that has profound social, economic, and psychological consequences. In Indonesia, Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Law Number 1 of 1974 has regulated the minimum age of marriage, which is 19 years for men and women. However, in reality, there are still many children and adolescents who do not understand the legal provisions of marriage and the impact it causes, especially related to the risks of early marriage. This community service activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 4 Palu by involving participants from student council members. Using the method of presentation of the material and the discussion method, this activity provides legal education to children and adolescents about the understanding of marriage, their rights, and the legal consequences of early marriage. The lack of legal literacy among children and adolescents makes them vulnerable to marriages that do not conform to the rule of law, which can negatively impact their education, health, and future. Through this program, it is hoped that participants will have a better understanding of marriage law and be able to make wiser decisions in planning their future. In addition, the involvement of various parties such as schools, families, and the community in this program is expected to create a more supportive environment for the protection of children's rights and the prevention of early marriage in Indonesia.
