Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) in teaching atmospheric layers to tenth-grade students at SMAN 11 Medan within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. Through a qualitative approach utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation methods, this study explores the effectiveness of PjBL in enhancing students' understanding of atmospheric concepts. The findings indicate that PjBL implementation through the creation of atmospheric layer miniatures and direct observation-based learning effectively increases student participation and comprehension. Learning is conducted in group systems to optimize resources and encourage student collaboration. Learning evaluation is carried out through daily assessments, both oral and written. The main challenge identified is the varying levels of understanding among students, particularly between advanced and regular classes. This research recommends developing learning differentiation strategies, enhancing teacher competency in PjBL implementation, and integrating digital technology to optimize atmospheric learning within the Merdeka Curriculum framework.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a fundamental aspect of human resource management that can influence work productivity. This study involves a systematic review of literature from various countries, including Indonesia, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, across different industrial sectors. The results show that companies that integrate OSH into their workplace culture tend to achieve better performance. This conclusion underscores the importance of commitment to OSH as a strategy to enhance productivity and employee well-being. The methodology used is a systematic review of journal articles published between 2019 and 2024, utilizing the Google Scholar database. Out of 20 articles found, 14 that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed in depth. The analysis results indicate that the implementation of OSH programs has a positive and significant impact on work productivity across various industrial sectors. However, some studies also indicate that the effectiveness of OSH programs may vary depending on the context of implementation and other external factors. This research concludes that the success of OSH programs in improving productivity heavily depends on the integration of these programs into the company culture and the commitment of all stakeholders.

Abstract

Based on a literature review from a number of previous studies, this research aims to study how financial compensation and non-financial compensation affect employee performance. Financial compensation, which includes salary, bonuses and incentives, is considered to play a significant role in improving employee performance, while non-financial compensation, such as recognition, awards and career development, is proven to provide intrinsic satisfaction for employees. To provide a comprehensive picture, this literature review includes research that has been conducted over the last five years by examining various industrial sectors to gain a comprehensive understanding. The results of the literature analysis show that both financial and non-financial compensation have a positive effect on employee performance, although the influence of each factor can vary depending on the characteristics of the organization and type of work. This article provides guidance for management in designing effective compensation strategies to improve performance and retain quality employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of local wisdom as a learning resource in Social Studies (IPS) learning to instill cultural values and tolerance in elementary school students. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews with teachers and local community leaders, observation of the learning process in the classroom, and analysis of documents related to teaching materials and curriculum. Data were analyzed using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the integration of local wisdom into IPS learning can increase students' awareness of local cultural values while forming an attitude of tolerance towards cultural diversity in the surrounding environment. In addition, this strategy also provides a contextual learning experience that is relevant to students' daily lives. This study recommends the importance of training for teachers in developing local wisdom-based learning methods and compiling learning modules that are appropriate to the local context.

Abstract

This research predicts house price increases using Newton's Divided Difference Method based on historical datasets from the Melbourne Housing Snapshot (2016–2017). A pattern of rising home prices that is consistent with a linear trend is revealed by preliminary investigation. By building an interpolation polynomial using Newton's Divided Difference Method, home prices in 2025 are predicted to be AUD 1,753,391.53. This technique works well for spotting upward price trends in data that is continuously distributed linearly. These results offer crucial information to help with strategic choices in market research and real estate investing. This approach may accurately simulate the link between year (an independent variable) and house prices (a dependent variable) by using Newton polynomials. The impact of market demand and other economic factors on sharply rising property prices is reflected in these projections.

Abstract

This study aims to identify students' initial abilities in biopolymer materials as a basis for developing learning designs. This study uses a content analysis method, with participants being fourth-semester students in one of the Chemistry Education study programs, at a state university in West Java. The instrument used in this study was a descriptive test consisting of 13 questions. The results of the Initial ability data analysis showed that overall, it was identified that 41% of students had an Initial ability understanding with a sufficient category, 33% of students had a poor category, 23% of students had a good category and 3% of students had an initial ability understanding with an outstanding category. Based on these findings, several interventions are suitable as references in developing didactic designs, such as displaying learning videos related to the manufacture of simple bioplastics, graphs of development and annual production costs of bioplastics, images of bioplastic applications in various fields, and infographics related to the decomposition process and the benefits of sustainability of bioplastics.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate student satisfaction with the self-study platform based on Google Sites, which is used as a medium for conducting exams in the Chemistry Education Program at Universitas Negeri Medan. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with a sample of 107 respondents. The results of the study show that 64.5% of students stated that the platform was very easy to access, 53.3% liked its design, and 55.1% were satisfied with the registration information and exam implementation. The simulation feature also received positive feedback, with 68% stating that the platform was easy to access, 56% feeling helped by the platform, and 64% feeling more prepared to take the exam after completing the simulation. Based on the research findings, the level of satisfaction with the platform indicates very positive results in contributing to student readiness, although further development is still needed to improve the quality of the independent exam implementation services for students.
