Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of Living Qur’an in Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Al-Jihad Surabaya which has been going on since 2015 and is manifested through the tradition of reading eight selected surahs every last Thursday of the month. The surahs read include al-Kahfi, al-Sajdah, Yasin, al-Dukhan, al-Waqi‘ah, al-Mulk, al-Insan, and al-Buruj. This tradition is only followed by tahfiz students and has been going on for generations without an explicit explanation of its benefits from the teacher. This study aims to examine the procession of tradition implementation and understand its meaning for tahfiz teachers, tahfiz administrators, and tahfiz students. The method used is descriptive-qualitative with Alfred Schutz's phenomenological approach. The results showed that the tradition procession consisted of five stages. First, the recitation of the kalam qadim prayer. Second, the recitation of tawasul. Third, the recitation of eight selected surahs alternately by tahfiz students. Fourth, the reading of tahlil, mauizah hasanah, and prayer together. Fifth, eating together. In terms of subjective and objective meanings, this tradition is seen as special, sacred, and a distinctive identity of tahfiz Al-Jihad students. The motives behind this tradition, both in terms of because of motive and in order to motive, include spiritual needs, obedience to the teacher, the obligation to follow the rules of the pesantren, a means to murajaah memorisation of the Qur'an, and the hope of getting blessings from each surah read and becoming a better person in the future.

Abstract

This article examines the narrative of the descent of Prophet Adam and Eve from heaven to earth, by comparing the perspectives contained in the Qur'an and the Bible. This article is a qualitative research that uses a linguistic approach with a focus on intertextuality analysis. The aim is to explore and compare the narrative of Adam's descent in the Qur'an and the Bible through the lens of Julia Kristeva's theory, which emphasizes the social, cultural, and historical context in understanding the text. Data were collected from literature studies, including primary sources such as the texts of the Qur'an, the Bible, and Kristeva's works. The analysis was conducted descriptively-analystically to examine the intertextual elements and dynamics of meaning from both texts. This study also applies theoretical triangulation to ensure the validity of the data by comparing the results of the analysis with other theoretical perspectives. With this approach, the article aims to reveal the deeper meaning of the story of Adam's descent and its contribution to the understanding of human identity and morality in a religious context. This article highlights differences in narrative details, such as the location of the descent and the consequences of Adam and Eve's actions, and how this story reflects gender and identity dynamics. By referring to the social and cultural context, this article shows that the story of Adam is not only a religious story, but also a reflection on the complex human condition.

Abstract

This article specifically explains the construction of PPP and PKS's thinking in interpreting terrorism. These two parties are the largest Islamic parties in Indonesia and almost all of their supporters are Muslims. The qualitative research method used in selecting informants or subjects has been selected purposively based on their activities, with the consideration that those selected as informants can explore and articulate their experiences consciously in interviews conducted by the Researcher through written texts sent and received via Whatsapp and email. The conclusions from the results of this study are (1) the reality of terrorism is socially formed; (2) the reality of terrorism is expressed through language; (3) knowledge of terrorism is obtained through social processes; and (4) emphasizes real action with suicide bombings. PPP firmly stated that there are two main roots of the problem, namely the problem of religious and economic understanding. Meanwhile, PKS firmly believes that terrorism is caused by the motive of economic inequality. To judge the issue and actions of terrorism is left to the Government and religious experts who understand the Law/Regulations and religious affairs only, considering that they do not want to make statements that will harm the existence of the Party in the future. Their task as the largest Islamic Political Party in Indonesia is only to monitor, supervise and calm the unrest in society through their representatives in each branch and region by coordinating and providing understanding and knowledge about terrorism issues and actions.

Abstract

This article examines the metaphor of "eating dead brother's flesh" in Surah Al-Hujurat verse 12 using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach to explore the deep meaning contained therein. This letter prohibits prejudice, and through powerful metaphors, depicts such actions as despicable and detrimental to social harmony. Using a semiotic approach, this article discusses the denotative and connotative meaning of the metaphor, as well as how the existing symbols reflect moral values ​​in Islamic teachings. Furthermore, this article explores the relevance of this metaphor in the context of the social and moral challenges facing contemporary society, where prejudice is often spread through social media and digital communications. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of maintaining brotherhood, mutual respect, and avoiding actions that could damage social harmony, as guidelines in dealing with modern social dynamics.

Abstract

This article discusses the management of Islamic religious education curriculum based on Ulumul Qur'an, with a focus on the development and implementation of an effective curriculum in educational institutions. This study aims to describe the curriculum management process including planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating, and how the principles of Ulumul Qur'an can be integrated into each stage of management. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation in several madrasahs. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of good curriculum management can improve the quality of Islamic religious education, shape students' characters in accordance with Qur'anic values, and prepare them to face global challenges. This article also identifies supporting and inhibiting factors in curriculum management based on Ulumul Qur'an, and provides recommendations for further development in the context of Islamic religious education. Thus, this study is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of Islamic religious education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article discusses the important role of Islamic studies in building an understanding of law based on Qur'anic values. In the midst of the complexity of modern legal challenges, approaches that integrate Islamic teachings with contemporary legal principles are becoming increasingly relevant. Through analysis of Qur'anic texts and interpretations of scholars, this article identifies the moral and ethical values ​​contained in Islamic teachings and how these values ​​can be applied in the legal system. This research also explores the contribution of Islamic studies in creating a legal framework that is not only fair and just, but also reflects social justice and community welfare. Using qualitative methods, this article presents various perspectives from Islamic legal experts and academics, as well as case studies that show the application of Qur'anic values ​​in legal practice. It is hoped that the findings from this article can make a significant contribution to the development of law that is more inclusive and responsive to the needs of society, as well as strengthening the position of Islamic studies as a relevant scientific discipline in the current legal context.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to examine the trustworthiness of sources in captions containing hadith sharia. This research uses qualitative methods and library research. The focus of this research is examining the Instagram account @fiqihwanita_ because this media is considered quite popular on this platform. Large uploads need to be limited to sampling. Therefore, the author limits the three hadiths that will be discussed to the theme of the household. Then the analysis technique that the author uses is descriptive analysis, namely analyzing related content and describing the results of the analysis. The results of the research on the three samples found that the Instagram account @fiqihwanita_ did not always include the source of hadith sharia. So in some uploads there is a friendly explanation by the content creator. Then, the sources quoted usually refer to certain websites, such as in this sample there is a reference to muslim.or.id. The writing on the website is summarized and reprocessed so that it is not taken in full due to limited content on the Instagram platform. The caption containing the hadith sharah is also strengthened by taking other hadiths, friends' news, and books such as Fathul Bari to strengthen the explanation.

Abstract

This article discusses social values ​​in the Qur'an and their implications for character education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. In the context of Islamic education, the Qur'an provides various values ​​that serve as a foundation in the formation of students' character. Through an analysis of the Al-Hujurat surah, especially verses 11-13, this study found that values ​​such as monotheism, morals, social responsibility, compassion, brotherhood, justice, and mutual respect are highly emphasized. These values ​​play an important role in shaping the character of students in madrasahs, which not only focus on academic aspects but also on moral and social development. This study identifies values ​​such as monotheism, morals, social responsibility, compassion, and tolerance as key elements in character education that can help students face moral challenges in modern society. Through a qualitative descriptive approach and literature review, this article analyzes how these values ​​can be internalized in the education curriculum in madrasahs. The results show that the application of Qur'anic values ​​not only improves students' intellectual intelligence but also strengthens their moral and social dimensions. Thus, character education based on the Qur'an has the potential to create a generation that is not only knowledgeable but also has noble morals and a commitment to goodness.

Abstract

The study of the ethical and aesthetic values ​​of Islamic boarding school students is an interesting topic to analyze from an axiological perspective, considering the close relationship between moral and ethical values ​​in their lives. This study aims to identify the ethical values ​​instilled in Islamic boarding school students and how these values ​​can be applied in their daily lives. The method used in this study is descriptive-analytical with a literature study approach, which involves collecting data from books, scientific articles, and other sources relevant to the issue of ethical and aesthetic values ​​of Islamic boarding school students in the context of axiology. The results of the study show three main points: First, the concept of axiology emphasizes that value can be interpreted as something that has utility or goodness. In philosophy, value theory is closely related to ethical and aesthetic issues. Second, related to the ethics of Islamic boarding school students, there are two main approaches, namely teleology and deontology. The teleological approach focuses on the consequences of actions; for example, if a student violates the rules of the boarding school, then he will receive consequences in the form of takzir. Meanwhile, the deontological theory emphasizes that the good or bad of a behavior is not only judged from its impact, but also from the obligation to comply with existing Islamic boarding school regulations. Third, in terms of the aesthetics of students, there are two categories, namely expressive and functional. Expressive aesthetics reflect the inner expression of an artist through works of art, such as chanting sholawat. On the other hand, functional aesthetics emphasizes that crafts or art are not only seen from the aspect of their function, but also from their beauty, such as the appearance of a clean and tidy student room.

Abstract

This study aims to design an innovative learning program that can increase students' interest in the science of the Qur'an. In today's digital era, the challenge of attracting students' attention to religious material is increasing. Therefore, a creative and interactive approach is needed in the learning process. The program designed integrates information technology, active learning methods, and content that is relevant to students' daily lives. Through the use of digital media such as learning applications, interactive videos, and online discussion platforms, it is hoped that students can be more involved and motivated to study the science of the Qur'an. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in several educational institutions. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student interest after the implementation of this program, as well as positive feedback from teachers and parents. These findings are expected to be a reference for the development of a more interesting and effective Islamic religious education curriculum in the future.
