Abstract

This study explores the strategic transformation of Human Resource Management (HRM) in the context of technological advancement, employee-centric practices, and sustainability integration. As HRM evolves from a traditional administrative function to a strategic organizational driver, technologies such as Big Data Analytics (BDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and HR Analytics play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making. These tools enhance employee attrition prediction, improve person-organization fit, and strengthen employer branding. Simultaneously, Strategic HRM (SHRM) emphasizes the alignment of HR policies with long-term organizational goals, contributing significantly to performance outcomes. Beyond operational efficiency, this paper highlights the growing importance of employee engagement, well-being, and sustainable HRM practices that support a healthy, inclusive, and balanced work environment. Sustainable HRM links employee well-being with organizational productivity while addressing social, environmental, and economic dimensions. The Dynamic Capability Theory provides the theoretical lens to understand how agile HR systems enhance organizational resilience and competitiveness amid rapidly changing business environments. This study formulates twelve hypotheses focusing on four key dimensions: technology integration in HRM, strategic HRM and performance, employee-centric practices, and industry-specific competency challenges. The hypothesized model outlines relationships between independent variables (technology, HRM strategy, competencies), mediating factors (psychological/social aspects, managerial roles), and dependent outcomes (performance, turnover, innovation, commitment). By synthesizing recent literature and identifying theoretical gaps—particularly in the areas of sustainability, social network utilization, and non-R&D employee innovation—this study contributes to advancing HRM research and proposes pathways for future exploration that are inclusive, data-driven, and aligned with dynamic organizational needs.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of AI-powered chatbots on consumer satisfaction in Indonesia's e-commerce industry. A quantitative approach was used to analyze data collected from 400 e-commerce users, focusing on key variables such as response speed, personalization, reliability, and perceived usefulness. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to evaluate the relationships between these factors. The findings indicate that response speed and personalization significantly enhance consumer satisfaction, with personalization having the most substantial effect. Perceived usefulness mediates the relationship between chatbot reliability and satisfaction, highlighting the importance of functional trust. However, chatbots were less effective in handling complex queries, moderating their overall impact on satisfaction. The study offers practical recommendations for e-commerce platforms in Indonesia, including enhancing chatbot algorithms for complex problem-solving and leveraging AI to deliver highly personalized interactions. These findings underscore the potential of AI-powered chatbots to drive consumer satisfaction and strengthen brand loyalty in Indonesia's rapidly growing digital marketplace.

Abstract

Successful innovation in today's business world requires an integrated approach, encompassing aspects of corporate design, product design, and the application of new technologies. Effective collaboration and targeted design management are key to achieving successful innovation. Utilizing efficient knowledge management techniques and tools in integrated design efforts is also important. Proactive planning is critical in innovation, where companies must integrate market trends, competition, emerging technologies, and changing customer preferences. Companies should not just wait for innovation to come by chance, but instead plan proactively and create an environment that encourages innovative thinking. The emergence of BKI Academy as a relatively new organization poses a significant challenge. The concept of BKI Academy itself as a provider of training and MICE services in the Maritime, K-3, Energy, Testing, Inspection & Certification, Construction, Management Systems and Human Resources market categories for all industries related to a unique value proposition for professionals and students in Indonesia, because maritime education/training institutions in Indonesia are minimal, BKI Academy sees this as a very appropriate opportunity. It is beneficial for the needs of workers in the maritime world. The innovation process plays a role in the development of companies or institutions. In an era where the flow of information and communication is growing rapidly, consumers are increasingly savvy in choosing products and services. Therefore, BKI Academy and similar organizations must continue to innovate and adapt to the times to meet customer needs and ensure the continuity of their business in an increasingly competitive market. The data collection technique used is the documentation technique. The data analysis design used is descriptive analysis. This study will provide an in-depth overview of how innovation models are applied at BKI Academy and how they impact the organization's progress. It will also provide the best recommendations for maritime educational institutions in building entrepreneurship-based education.

Abstract

This study examines the interrelationship among data privacy practices, cybersecurity readiness, and business continuity planning in enhancing sustainable digitalization within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach using structured survey data collected from 250 SMEs operating in manufacturing, retail, and service sectors in Indonesia. The analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling to assess both direct and mediated relationships among the three digital capabilities and their influence on sustainability outcomes. The results reveal that data privacy practices significantly contribute to improving cybersecurity readiness, and cybersecurity readiness has a positive impact on the development of business continuity plans. Furthermore, business continuity planning mediates the effect of cybersecurity readiness on sustainable performance, which includes operational reliability, digital trust, and environmental responsibility. The findings of this study suggest that secure digital capabilities, when integrated systematically, enhance the long-term viability and resilience of SMEs operating in emerging markets. This research provides empirical evidence supporting a triadic framework linking digital security components with sustainability outcomes in resource-constrained settings.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven a significant transformation in consumer shopping behavior, primarily through e-commerce platforms. This study analyzes the influence of Shopee PayLater, Cash on Delivery (COD), and return of goods features on consumer purchasing interest in Asahan Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey technique. Data were obtained from 100 respondents through an online questionnaire based on a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the return of goods feature significantly influences purchasing interest (sig. = 0.000), followed by the PayLater feature (sig. = 0.008). Meanwhile, the COD feature did not show a significant effect (sig. = 0.156). The Adjusted R Square value of 0.536 indicates that the three features can explain 53.6% of the variation in consumer purchasing interest. This finding shows that consumer perceptions of after-sales service and payment flexibility are key factors in purchasing decisions. This study provides strategic implications for e-commerce platform managers, especially Shopee, in developing service features that are more adaptive to the needs and behavior of digital consumers. The study also recommends testing other variables such as product quality, promotions, and customer reviews in further studies.

Abstract

This study examines the improvement of professionalism and work ethic of the apparatus at BPVP Pangkep through data-based human resource management. This qualitative descriptive research employs interview data collected from four informants. The data were analyzed inductively by identifying empirical facts and aligning them with relevant theoretical frameworks. The results reveal that BPVP Pangkep implements data-driven human resource strategies using two primary approaches: employee competency mapping and a digital performance monitoring system. Competency mapping is conducted through assessments of performance, attendance, and periodic evaluations to assign employees according to their expertise and potential. Meanwhile, the digital monitoring system enhances transparency and accountability, encouraging greater discipline and dedication among staff. The findings of this study suggest that, although the implementation of this system shows a promising impact on organizational performance, it still encounters challenges such as limited human resources with adequate digital skills, insufficient technological infrastructure, and resistance to change among employees who are uncomfortable with performance evaluations based on data systems.
