Abstract

The landslide that occurred in Padasari Village, Jatinegara Subdistrict, Tegal Regency not only caused physical damage but also impacted the psychological well-being of the community. The limited availability of post-disaster psychosocial support services underscores the need for community-based interventions capable of enhancing the community’s adaptive capacity. This community service activity aims to provide psychoeducational training based on character strengths as an effort to strengthen the psychological resilience of disaster-affected communities. The method used is a participatory approach that involves residents as active participants throughout the entire activity process. The program implementation included a preparation phase, followed by the delivery of character strengths-based psychoeducation through presentations, group discussions, exercises to identify character strengths, reflection on experiences, and follow-up discussions on applying character strengths in daily life. The activity was evaluated through question-and-answer sessions, reflective discussions, and observation of participant engagement, using the following indicators: the ability to identify at least three character strengths and active participation in group discussions.

Abstract

The digital transformation of healthcare requires health professionals to understand diagnostic coding based on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), yet such knowledge is rarely introduced at the secondary school level. This community service program aimed to improve students’ knowledge of basic diagnostic coding through the CERDIK-KODE (Smart Diagnosis and Coding) program. A participatory educational approach using learning-by-doing simulation and a one-group pretest–posttest design was implemented among 36 students at SMA Negeri 2 Penajam Paser Utara, Indonesia. The intervention included interactive lectures, educational leaflets, case-based diagnostic coding simulations, group discussions, and educational games. Knowledge was assessed using pretest and posttest questionnaires and analyzed using a paired-samples t-test. The mean score increased from 5.17 ± 1.03 before the intervention to 8.64 ± 0.87 afterward, showing a statistically significant improvement (t = −41.15; p < 0.001). Students actively participated in simulations and demonstrated improved abilities to identify simple diagnoses and assign appropriate codes. These findings indicate that interactive education and case-based simulations effectively enhance students’ knowledge and health literacy regarding diagnostic coding. The CERDIK-KODE program offers an innovative model for introducing Medical Records and Health Information Management concepts at the secondary school level.

Abstract

Oral communication skills and artistic expression represent essential competencies that often remain underdeveloped among students, particularly in the context of drama performance and poetry musicalization. This condition is evidenced by students' persistent difficulties in articulating ideas clearly, limited self-confidence when performing before an audience, and an inability to convey expressions appropriate to the roles they portray or the poetic content they present. In response to these challenges, this community service program was designed and implemented through a public speaking training initiative grounded in experiential learning as a strategic intervention. The program was conducted at SMA Negeri 6 Makassar through a systematic sequence encompassing needs assessment, conceptual instruction, technique demonstration, public speaking practice, drama and poetry musicalization simulation, intensive mentoring, and comprehensive evaluation. The results demonstrated measurable improvements in articulatory precision, intonation dynamics, stage command, facial expression and gesture richness, and heightened self-confidence during public performance. High levels of enthusiasm and active engagement further affirmed program effectiveness. These findings underscore that public speaking training integrated with performing arts practice is not only effective as a community service initiative, but also holds substantial potential for adoption as a complementary program within Indonesian Language instruction.

Abstract

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence technology has brought changes in various areas of life, one of which is the education sector. The ease of accessing applications such as ChatGPT opens up opportunities to support learning but at the same time presents challenges related to understanding and usage ethics. This activity aims to improve literacy and understanding of 45 students in class IX of SMP Negeri 11 Samarinda about the basic concepts, benefits, risks, and how to use AI wisely and responsibly. The method used is quantitative descriptive with data collection through pre-test and post-test. The activity is carried out through the delivery of materials, discussions, questions and answers, and the practice of preparing simple prompts with the theme "Smart AI, Not Cheating AI". Analysis using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test produces Z value = -3,530 and Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 (p < 0,05), which indicates a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. This activity supports the improvement of AI understanding as well as ethical awareness and academic honesty.

Abstract

Mandor Dimsum MSME is a culinary business based on a franchise model that has experienced rapid growth since its establishment in 2024 with 10 branches spread across Pasuruan and surrounding areas. The main problem faced is the management of inventory that has not been standardized, especially during the fasting month when demand increases drastically but the supply of raw materials (chicken) is limited, causing stockouts in several branches. In addition, separate stock records between Microsoft Excel for raw materials and the Kasmini Stok application for finished products have the potential to cause data discrepancies. This community service activity aims to assist in the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for inventory and optimization of inventory management systems at Mandor Dimsum MSME. The implementation method uses a qualitative approach with a case study strategy which includes participatory observation, in-depth interviews, SOP preparation, socialization and assistance, and evaluation of SOP implementation. The results show that the preparation of inventory SOPs covering receiving, storage, stock recording, and goods issuance procedures can improve stock data accuracy, accelerate sales transactions, and help optimize raw material ordering time through the application of Reorder Point. This activity makes a real contribution to improving the operational capacity of Mandor Dimsum MSME and can serve as an assistance model for inventory management for similar MSMEs.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve Islamic financial literacy among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Batu Gajah Village, Rupit District, North Musi Rawas Regency. The program was motivated by the limited understanding of MSME actors regarding financial management based on Islamic principles and the continued practice of interest-based financing. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 23 MSME participants through initial mapping, socialization, practical assistance, and handbook distribution. The results demonstrated improved participant understanding of the prohibition of riba, gharar, and maysir, as well as the importance of maintaining simple and systematic business financial records. Collaboration with Bank Syariah Indonesia supported the delivery of relevant and credible educational materials. The handbook provided during the program served as an effective educational medium for continuous learning. The program demonstrated that a participatory approach can improve MSME actors’ understanding and awareness of Islamic financial principles. The activity is expected to encourage more responsible financial behavior and expand access to Islamic financial services at the community level. Furthermore, sustained mentoring and periodic evaluation are recommended to ensure that the knowledge gained is consistently applied in daily business financial management.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy is a health problem that can increase the risk of complications for both mothers and fetuses. The utilization of local food as a complementary approach may support anemia prevention. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge, skills, and hemoglobin (Hb) levels of pregnant women with anemia through health education and a demonstration of seaweed pudding preparation. The activity was conducted in May 2026 in Banjararum Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency, involving 31 pregnant women with mild to moderate anemia. The method employed a participatory-educational approach through health counseling, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and evaluation using pretest–posttest assessments and Hb measurements before and 14 days after the intervention. The results showed an increase in the mean knowledge score from 58.7 ± 10.4 to 86.9 ± 7.2. The proportion of participants with good knowledge increased from 16.1% to 77.4%, while the proportion with poor knowledge decreased to 0%. The mean Hb level increased significantly from 9.82 ± 0.54 g/dL to 10.64 ± 0.60 g/dL (Δ = 0.82 ± 0.29 g/dL; p < 0.001). Furthermore, 90.3% of participants were able to prepare seaweed pudding independently. This activity demonstrates that demonstration-based education combined with the utilization of seaweed pudding has the potential to improve pregnant women's knowledge, skills, and Hb levels as part of promotive and preventive efforts to address anemia

Abstract

Traditional games are increasingly being abandoned by elementary school children due to the growing use of digital games, reducing physical activity and opportunities for contextual, culture-based learning. This community service program aimed to optimize Gobak Sodor as a culture-based learning medium to strengthen students’ numeracy literacy, scientific literacy, and physical activity at SDN Rejuno 1, Ngawi Regency. The program employed a participatory approach involving needs assessment, school coordination, material development, game demonstrations, guided practice, mentoring, and evaluation. Activities were conducted over six sessions with active participation from teachers and students. The results showed that students understood the rules, applied basic strategies, and recognized mathematical and scientific concepts embedded in the game. Students also demonstrated increased participation, collaboration, sportsmanship, and physical activity during learning. Teachers responded positively to Gobak Sodor as an engaging and contextual learning medium. The program demonstrates that traditional culture-based games can serve as effective interdisciplinary learning media while supporting cultural preservation, strengthening numeracy and scientific literacy, promoting physical activity, and fostering character development. Thus, Gobak Sodor provides a practical and enjoyable approach to integrating cultural values into elementary education.

Abstract

The Community Empowerment Practice (PPM) Group 1 of the Indonesian Institute of Indonesian Students Association (IAI) Ngawi in Banjaransari Village, Padas District, Ngawi Regency aims to increase the economic productivity of housewives through the utilization of local commodities, including tofu. The community service partners faced challenges such as a lack of variety in tofu processing methods and limited knowledge regarding home-based side business management. The method used was participatory action research (PAR), which included outreach, training on innovative tofu products (Tahu Fantasi, Dimsum Tahu, and Tahu Walik), and product packaging education. The results of this activity showed an 85% increase in the partners' skills in processing tofu into higher-value products, as well as increased motivation to start side businesses to support family economic stability. Thus, empowerment activities centered on innovative processed tofu products are expected to serve as an alternative means to increase income, strengthen economic self-reliance, and support sustainable family economic stability.

Abstract

The community service program that has been carried out is entitled “Processing Used Cooking Oil and Lemongrass Resources into Aromatherapy Candles in KUBE, Gunung Kijang Village.” This activity involved members of KUBE (Kelompok Usaha Bersama/Joint Business Group) located in RT 009, Gunung Kijang Village, Gunung Kijang District, Bintan Regency, and was conducted on February 7, 2026. This activity was motivated by the high amount of used cooking oil waste generated by KUBE, particularly from sweet potato processing, as well as the abundance of lemongrass plants that have not been optimally utilized. The objective of this program was to reduce the risk of environmental pollution while maximizing the utilization of local village resources in the form of lemongrass. The methods used in this activity included socialization, demonstrations, and direct practice. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills, as indicated by the questionnaire results administered before and after the activity. Aromatherapy candle products were successfully produced and are expected to help reduce waste while also becoming useful products and potential business ideas for the communit.
