Abstract

This research explores the potential of the traditional game Patok Lele as a medium for building Islamic character in children at the Pantai Dalam Guidance Center in Kuala Lumpur. This game not only acts as a physical and recreational activity but also instills Islamic values such as honesty, cooperation, patience, and responsibility. The method employed in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data was gathered from direct observation of the game's implementation, interviews with participants and program managers, and documentation of activities. The results indicated that the Patok Lele game effectively internalized Islamic values among children. In addition to enhancing social skills, the game strengthens Islamic character by teaching the values of honesty, cooperation, and discipline through authentic experiences. Through this activity, children not only play but also learn in a fun and educational atmosphere, aligning with the principles of Islamic education that emphasize the balance between cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development.

Abstract

Al-Farabi, an Islamic philosopher, focused on the correlation between logic and language, particularly regarding the process of reasoning. He classified logic into eight components, which align with the eight books of the Aristotelian Organon, and delineated logic as a system of rules governing thought. He asserted that the objectives of logic are to govern and direct reason towards correct thinking, establish measures to prevent mistakes and assign significance to comprehensible acknowledgments of error. As Aristotle's logic encompasses a set of methods aimed at effectively persuading others, regulating debate, uncovering truths, and attaining certainty, Al-Farabi regarded the formal rules of logic as heuristics (mental shortcuts that help people make quick decisions), rather than as laws of a scientific theory. He analogized logic to tools like rulers and compasses, which are employed to guarantee precision when measuring physical objects that are susceptible to errors. Further, he characterized it as a science based on rules that regulate the mental processes involved in comprehending abstract concepts served as the basis for Ibn Sina's subsequent enhancements. Al-Farabi's philosophy of logic and language is expounded in his writings, and he deserves to be regarded on par with Plato, Aristotle, Kant, and Hegel in this aspect of his work.

Abstract

Multicultural education is an urgent need in a pluralistic Indonesian society. This article examines the urgency of multicultural education from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy as a foundation for building a tolerant, just, and inclusive civil society. This study collects and analyzes literature related to multicultural values in Islamic teachings and Islamic educational practices in Indonesia through a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The results of the study show that in the treasury of Islamic educational philosophy, there are fundamental principles that are in line with multicultural values, such as tolerance (tasamuh), justice ('adl), equality (musawah), respect for differences, and the spirit of deliberation (shura). Islam views diversity as part of the sunnatullah that cannot be avoided and must be addressed with mutual respect. However, the reality of Islamic education in Indonesia still shows the dominance of a normative-doctrinal approach, providing little space for cross-cultural dialogue and critical thinking. Therefore, a reconstruction of the paradigm of Islamic education that is inclusive and contextual is needed by instilling multicultural values in the curriculum, learning methods, and educational practices as a whole. Thus, Islamic education does not only function as a transmission of religious knowledge, but also as a tool for social transformation in building a harmonious civil society in diversity. This article highlights explicitly two main questions: (1) how multicultural values are integrated into Islamic educational philosophy, and (2) to what extent such integration contributes to forming a civil society. The main contribution of this study is to offer an integrative conceptual framework that combines Islamic values with the principles of multiculturalism, which can be used as a reference in developing inclusive and contextual Islamic educational policies and practices.

Abstract

The worldwide halal industry has seen quick development within the 21st Century, went with by developing complexities driven by the globalization of supply chains, troublesome mechanical developments such as hereditary building, cell-based meat, and nanotechnology, as well as the expansion of halal items into non-food divisions such as beauty care products, pharmaceuticals, and advanced fund. These complexities demand legitimate Islamic direction that's both significant and versatile. This report analyzes the part of Usul al-Fiqh, the foundational strategy of Islamic law, that tends to modern challenges in halal item advancement. Utilizing a basic and efficient writing survey of legitimate scholarly sources and investigations of fatwas issued by driving Islamic education, this report analyzes how standards of Usul al-Fiqh—including Qiyas, Istihsan, Maslahah Mursalah, Istishab, Sadd al-Dhara'i', and 'Urf, guided by Maqasid al-Shariah—are connected to address developing issues. The key discoveries highlight the versatility of the Usul al-Fiqh system in standing up to present-day challenges while uncovering noteworthy impediments such as the harmonization of worldwide measures, confirmation over complex supply chains, and the need for integration with cutting-edge logical information. The part of advances such as DNA analysis and blockchain as confirmation devices is also investigated. Contrasts of supposition (ikhtilaf) among modern researchers are analyzed as a reflection of the energetic nature of ijtihad. The report concludes that Usul al-Fiqh remains a pertinent methodological and moral system inside present-day halal talk, although it requires persistent improvement and integration to react successfully to future challenges.

Abstract

This study examines Ali Abdur Raziq's perspective on the relationship between religion and state and the background, context, and dynamics present amid the emergence of ideas from this perspective. It is a literature study that critically analyzes Ali Abdur Raziq's ideas in his book Al-Islam wa Ushul al-Hukm. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Islam, as a religion, rahmatan lil alamin, means a universal and comprehensive religion. Islam is here to provide solutions for all processes of human life on earth, including the belief that Islam also offers the concept of a religious and pious government system. In contrast to Ali Abdur Raziq's perspective, this Islamic figure has a secular ideology, as shown by his controversial work, Al-Islam wa Ushul al-Hukm. In his book, Raziq initiates the concept of secularization of Islam. Raziq wants to change the original Islamic religion into a secular religion like Christianity, which does not teach a government system. He believes that Islam is the only religion that conveys divine messages to people through the intermediary of the Prophet Muhammad without interfering in the slightest in political affairs and the government system. He used religious postulates with subjective interpretations. By some secular Islamic figures, Raziq is considered the founding father of modern state theology, who has saved Islam from negative political experiences that occurred throughout Islamic history. Although in the end, this idea did not get much fresh air from the majority of Islamic scholars (and was even firmly rejected), this dialectic needs to be answered with a more objective idea of realizing Islam as a universal and comprehensive religion.
