Abstract

Reading fluency is a fundamental skill that first-grade students must acquire as a foundation for understanding various subjects. However, in practice, many students are still unable to read fluently, with some even unfamiliar with basic letters. This condition demands the active role of teachers in applying appropriate and effective learning strategies. This study aims to describe the teacher’s strategies in improving reading fluency among first-grade students at SD Negeri 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The key informant in this study was the first-grade teacher, Mrs. Triyana Yetra, S.Pd., M.Pd. The findings show that the teacher applied adaptive, comprehensive, and engaging strategies. These included grouping students based on their initial reading abilities, providing age-appropriate and interesting reading materials, using letter cards in educational games, and implementing a gradual learning process starting from storytelling by the teacher to shared reading activities. The teacher also integrated inductive, deductive, mixed, and regressive strategies according to the classroom dynamics. Additionally, involving parents in supporting students' learning at home contributed significantly to their reading progress. These strategies proved effective in enhancing students' focus, motivation, and self-confidence in reading.

Abstract

This research stems from a number of issues faced at SMP Negeri 1 Koto Baru, where student worksheets (LKPD) for grade IX still use printed formats. During learning activities, especially when completing exercises, students experience difficulties and feel bored. Furthermore, students desire digital worksheets. The purpose of this research is to develop an e-LKPD for Indonesian language learning using liveworksheets on the topic of writing inspirational stories for grade IX at SMP Negeri 1 Koto Baru, which can meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The type of research conducted is development research or R&D (Research and Development). The model applied in this development is the Four-D model consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This process goes through four stages: first, initial analysis that includes student characteristics, concept analysis, task analysis, and setting learning objectives. The second stage is design, which compiles core competencies, basic competencies, and learning objectives. The third stage is development, which includes validation and practicality data, analysis of the practicality of student worksheets, and effectiveness results. The final stage, dissemination, is carried out using questionnaires for students, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the e-LKPD for Indonesian language learning, supported by liveworksheets on the topic of writing inspirational stories for ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Koto Baru, is highly valid, practical, and effective. The overall validity score for the e-LKPD was 85.47%, which falls into the very valid category. The practicality score for the e-LKPD, based on teacher responses, reached 86%, falling into the very practical category. The practicality score for the e-LKPD, based on student responses, also reached 88.31%, falling into the same category, which is very practical. The effectiveness test was 85.47%.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program at STIA LPPN Padang using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product) developed by Stufflebeam. This research is an evaluative study with a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The evaluation results show that, in terms of the context, the RPL program is aligned with the institution’s vision and mission as well as the needs of the community, especially government employees in the nagari (village) in West Sumatra. In terms of input, there are certified assessors, complete RPL tools, and infrastructure support, although there are challenges in the understanding of assessments by some lecturers and limited funding. In terms of process, the implementation of socialization, portfolio assessments, verification, and credit determination has followed the guidelines, but the duration of the implementation is relatively long due to the limited number of assessors. In terms of product, the RPL program has a positive impact, including faster study progress, increased student motivation, recognition of work competencies, and contributions to the institution's reputation. However, strengthening socialization, increasing the number of assessors, and digitizing documentation are needed to improve the quality of RPL implementation in the future. This study confirms that the RPL program at STIA LPPN Padang has been effectively implemented and has the potential to further develop as a strategy for expanding inclusive and equitable higher education access.

Abstract

This articel discusses the existence of halaqah as a center of Islamic scholarship in Minangkabau, examining its historical background, institutional characteristics, socio-cultural functions, and the dynamics of its transformation toward modern forms of Islamic education. The study employs a literature review method by analyzing journal articles, conference proceedings, and historical studies related to surau, halaqah, and the Minangkabau network of scholars (ulama). The findings indicate that halaqah often manifested in the form of surau institutions or pondok networks served as the main foundation for the transmission of Islamic knowledge, the formation of scholars, and the internalization of local (customary) values oriented toward Sharia. However, since the 20th century, these scholarly institutions have undergone processes of modernization and pluralization.

Abstract

This study examines the ongoing challenges in improving teacher work performance at private vocational high schools through the strengthening of organizational culture, compensation, and work motivation. The aim of this research is to empirically test the causal relationships among these variables. The method used is a quantitative explanatory survey involving 128 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, with validity tested through the Pearson Product Moment and reliability through Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis included prerequisite tests (normality, homogeneity, linearity, and significance) and path analysis to identify direct and indirect effects. The results show that organizational culture, compensation, and work motivation each have a significant direct effect on teacher performance, with work motivation emerging as the most dominant factor. Additionally, organizational culture and compensation also exert indirect effects through work motivation. These findings emphasize the importance of integrated empowerment strategies to enhance teacher performance. The study concludes that strengthening organizational culture, ensuring fair compensation, and implementing continuous motivation programs are essential to optimizing teacher work performance.

Abstract

The perspective of Islamic educational philosophy on the implementation of a love-based curriculum within the Education Office of South Sumatra Province. Islamic educational philosophy is rooted in the values of the Qur'an and Hadith, which emphasise a balance between the development of intellect, spirituality, and the cultivation of noble character. In this context, a love based curriculum is understood as an educational approach that places affection, respect for human dignity, and harmonious relationships between educators and learners at the core of the learning process. Through literature review and descriptive qualitative analysis, this article examines the relevance of the concept of love in Islamic education to regional educational policies, particularly in South Sumatra. The findings of the study indicate that the implementation of a love based curriculum aligns with the principle of rahmah in Islam, which encourages the emergence of learners who are not only intellectually outstanding but also empathetic, ethical, and possess a high social awareness. The application of this curriculum can create a learning atmosphere that is humanistic, participatory, and oriented towards character formation. Furthermore, the implementation of a love based curriculum is believed to serve as a strategic instrument in strengthening Islamic values, enhancing the quality of human resources, and providing education that is relevant to the modern challenges of the global era.
