Abstract

The era of digitalization has significantly influenced human life. In reality, the negative impacts of digitalization have become a major concern that must be addressed immediately. This phenomenon can be seen in the decline of character and morality among the younger generation in today’s digital era. Character education, as a moral foundation in everyday life, plays an important role in the digital age. This study aims to analyze the role of character education in the digital era, the values applied within character education, and the integration of education with digital technology. The data sources in this study were descriptive data derived from a literature review approach. The findings indicate that character education makes a significant contribution as a moral foundation in the era of digitalization. The values embedded in character education play an essential role in human life in the digital era, while the integration of education with digital technology must be balanced with responsibility and morality in order to minimize the negative impacts of digitalization. This study recommends the need for strong collaboration among the government, educational institutions, educators, the younger generation, and other stakeholders in implementing character education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the emergence of verbal aggressiveness among students, such as yelling, mocking, insulting, and scolding in daily interactions. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of emotional maturity, the level of verbal aggressiveness, and the relationship between emotional maturity and verbal aggressiveness among students of SMKN 9 Muaro Jambi. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The sample consisted of 183 students selected from SMKN 9 Muaro Jambi. Data were collected using Likert scale questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results showed that the level of students’ emotional maturity was in the moderate category with a percentage of 44.75%, while the level of verbal aggressiveness was also in the moderate category with a percentage of 50.03%. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between emotional maturity and verbal aggressiveness with a correlation coefficient of -0.312, indicating a low negative correlation. This means that higher emotional maturity tends to be associated with lower verbal aggressiveness, whereas lower emotional maturity tends to increase verbal aggressiveness among students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Teaching Factory (TeFa) model as an industry-oriented learning strategy in vocational education, with particular emphasis on its implementation at SMKN 10 Semarang. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was employed by examining 20 relevant scholarly articles published between 2021 and 2025. Data were collected through searches in Google Scholar, Garuda, and DOAJ databases and subsequently analyzed using thematic synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that the Teaching Factory (TeFa) model plays a significant role in enhancing students’ technical competencies, problem-solving skills, and work readiness through production-based learning integrated with industry standards. The successful implementation of TeFa is influenced by internal factors, including teachers’ competencies and learning management practices, as well as external factors, such as the availability of facilities and infrastructure and partnerships with industry stakeholders. Implementation strategies include project-based learning, the adoption of authentic production systems, and the strengthening of quality management practices. However, several challenges remain, including limited facilities, disparities in teachers’ competencies, and suboptimal collaboration with industry partners. The study recommends strengthening industry-based training programs, improving educational facilities, and developing strategic partnerships with industry to optimize the implementation of the Teaching Factory model in vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of intellectual capital on firm performance in the financial services sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2015–2019 period. Methodology: Intellectual capital is measured using the Modified Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (MVAIC) approach, while firm performance is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA) and Tobin’s Q. This study also examines the moderating roles of group affiliation and Big 4 auditors, including moderated moderation testing. The research sample consists of 78 companies with a total of 390 observations, analyzed using a fixed effects panel data regression model with robust standard errors. Findings: The results show that intellectual capital has a positive and significant effect on ROA but no significant effect on Tobin’s Q. Group affiliation is proven to weaken the relationship between intellectual capital and profitability, while Big 4 audits strengthen this relationship. However, the three-way interaction effect shows no statistical significance. These findings emphasize the importance of managing intellectual capital in enhancing the internal financial performance of financial service companies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the timeliness of Annual Tax Return filing among individual taxpayers (employees) at KPP Pratama Situbondo in the context of the implementation of the Core Tax Administration System (Coretax). The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework, which includes perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward use, and behavioral intention to use. Data were collected through structured interviews and observations involving tax officers and individual taxpayers selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that the timeliness of Annual Tax Return filing is influenced by both internal and external factors. From the TAM perspective, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly affect taxpayers’ attitudes and intentions to use the system, which subsequently influence reporting behavior. However, several obstacles remain, including technical problems such as system errors and slow access, limited digital literacy, and difficulties in adapting to the new system. External factors, such as delays in receiving withholding tax documents, work-related busyness, geographical constraints, and perceptions of weak sanctions, also contribute to reporting delays. This study concludes that although Coretax has the potential to improve reporting efficiency, its effectiveness largely depends on user readiness, system reliability, and supporting infrastructure.

Abstract

The existence of customary law in the reform of national criminal law is a critical issue within the context of Indonesia’s pluralistic legal system. As the indigenous law of the Indonesian people, customary criminal law is, in essence, an integral part of the Indonesian legal system. The reform of Indonesian cri minal law to replace colonial criminal law has accommodated customary criminal law as the basis for its legalization or recognition within the New Criminal Code (KUHP). This study examines the existence of customary criminal law within the national criminal legal system following the enactment of the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023). This topic was chosen because it highlights the urgency of recognizing local legal values (living law) within the national system. The research employs a literature review method with a normative legal approach. These findings are crucial for strengthening the synergy between national law and local wisdom to foster an inclusive legal system.

Abstract

Human trafficking is a form of transnational organized crime that has serious impacts on human rights and requires effective criminal accountability. The legal issue examined in this study focuses on the regulation of criminal liability for perpetrators and the mechanisms of law enforcement within the framework of international criminal law. This study aims to analyze the forms of criminal liability in human trafficking crimes and to examine the mechanisms for their implementation against organized criminal networks. The research employed a normative juridical method using statutory and conceptual approaches, supported by library research. The findings indicate that criminal liability applies not only to the principal perpetrators but also to all parties involved in the criminal network, including corporations. In addition, law enforcement requires international cooperation mechanisms such as extradition and mutual legal assistance, although practical challenges remain in terms of evidence collection and coordination among states.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze conflict management based on Islamic organizational communication in Islamic educational institutions. Conflict is an inevitable phenomenon in organizations, including educational settings, where individuals with diverse backgrounds, interests, and perceptions interact. Therefore, effective conflict management strategies are required to ensure that conflicts do not produce negative impacts but instead contribute to organizational improvement. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method in an Islamic educational institution. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques, with validity ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that conflicts occur among teachers, between teachers and leaders, and among staff, primarily caused by miscommunication, differences in interests, and varying perceptions. Organizational communication plays a strategic role in preventing and resolving conflicts through vertical, horizontal, and diagonal communication patterns, as well as communication strategies such as deliberation and interpersonal approaches. Furthermore, Islamic values such as consultation (shura), justice (‘adl), and reconciliation (ishlah) are proven to be effective in creating fair, humane, and sustainable conflict resolution. This study concludes that the integration of conflict management, organizational communication, and Islamic values can foster a harmonious and productive working environment. However, challenges remain, including communication barriers and inconsistency in applying Islamic values. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance organizational communication quality and strengthen the internalization of Islamic values in conflict management practices within Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing multimodal learning that integrates text, audio, and video on elementary school students’ Indonesian language learning outcomes. Literacy challenges in the digital era require innovative learning media capable of accommodating students’ diverse cognitive styles. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The research population consisted of upper-grade elementary school students from one school cluster in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi, with a sample of 60 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using learning outcome test instruments and analyzed through an independent samples t-test and N-Gain calculation. The results indicate that the experimental group achieved an average post-test score of 87.50 with an N-Gain value of 0.70 (high category), significantly outperforming the control group, which obtained an average score of 71.10 with an N-Gain value of 0.39 (moderate category). The hypothesis testing results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant effect of the use of multimodal media. The findings of this study emphasize that the integration of various modes of representation is effective in improving students’ comprehension and information retention. Therefore, multimodal learning is recommended as a primary instructional strategy in language learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of multiculturalism in local culture-based Islamic Education (PAI) at SMPN 42 Padang. Specifically, it examines the implementation of multicultural values in Islamic Education learning, the integration of local coastal culture into the curriculum, and the roles of teachers as well as the challenges encountered in implementing multicultural values in Islamic Education. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using field research methods. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving Islamic Education teachers, students, and community leaders residing near the school. The findings reveal that multicultural values, including tolerance, respect for diversity, and social solidarity, have been integrated into Islamic Education through a contextual learning approach grounded in local coastal culture. However, the implementation remains insufficiently institutionalized within the formal curriculum and continues to rely largely on individual teachers' initiatives. The study proposes a conceptual model of multicultural Islamic Education based on local culture that is contextual, culturally responsive, and relevant to the socio-cultural characteristics of coastal communities.
