Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical need for technological integration in education, showcasing the potential of e-learning to significantly enhance both instructional efficacy and efficiency. To capitalize on these advancements post-pandemic, this study concentrates on the implementation of Blended Learning—a pedagogical method that merges traditional face-to-face instruction with online learning—in vocational senior high schools. Despite its numerous advantages, the adoption of Blended Learning remains limited in many schools due to various challenges. This community service initiative is designed to equip vocational school instructors and educational personnel with the skills required to seamlessly integrate Blended Learning into their teaching methodologies. The program includes a series of workshops and technical training sessions, systematically divided into three phases: assessment, implementation, and evaluation. Scheduled for August 2023, the workshop is aimed at educators and educational professionals, offering them hands-on experience and practical knowledge essential for this hybrid instructional approach. Initial results suggest that participants achieved a thorough understanding of Blended Learning's benefits and displayed a strong readiness to adopt this instructional strategy, as demonstrated by pre- and post-workshop assessments and feedback surveys. feedback surveys.

Abstract

Converting student theses or final projects into publishable articles poses a significant challenge. Many students struggle to articulate their ideas in scientific publications due to a lack of writing training. This study aims to identify and address the difficulties students face when submitting papers to scientific journals, particularly using the open journal system. The mentoring and training service implemented comprises four phases: preparation, implementation, analysis, and evaluation. Results indicate that students face challenges in areas such as metadata composition and article submission. However, the training increased student motivation and enthusiasm, enhancing their ability to complete academic assignments and submit them to scholarly journals. This study highlights the necessity of ongoing writing practice and focused mentoring to improve student competencies in scientific paper publication.

Abstract

In Indonesia, there are two primary investment forms: conventional and sharia. Many people need help understanding the difference between the two. Sharia investment is an investment that is based on Islamic principles and laws. This study aims to improve the understanding of sharia investment in the PAC Fatayat Metro Utara community in Metro City. Currently, many community members do not understand the concept of sharia investment properly, so they are still vulnerable to investment fraud that is not legally clear and promises large profits in a short time. Awareness of the importance of investment as long-term savings that can provide benefits in the future needs to be increased. This is important so that people are aware of investment offers that have been rampant lately, especially investments that claim to be Sharia-based but are not by Islamic principles. This study found that the PAC Fatayat Metro Utara community's understanding of sharia investment could be more robust. Therefore, more intensive education and socialization are needed so that this community can recognize and choose investments based on Sharia principles and avoid fraudulent investments. By increasing public understanding, especially among the PAC Fatayat Metro Utara community, it is hoped that the number of investment fraud victims under Sharia's guise can be minimized. Proper education will have a long-term positive impact on the economic welfare of society.

In recent years, the rise of concerning behaviors such as the dissemination of pornographic content, student demonstrations turning violent, inter-student conflicts, exam cheating, and drug involvement have highlighted a critical deficiency in student character and values. Character education rooted in the Islamic values of Ahlussunah Waljama'ah (Aswaja) is essential to address these issues. This service aims to enhance and fortify the character and Aswaja values among students, particularly those in the IPNU-IPPNU Metro City organization. Utilizing the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the program follows a structured path of discovery, dream, design, define, and destiny phases. The initiative has yielded significant outcomes, including heightened understanding and reinforcement of Aswaja values, practical application of these values in students' daily lives, and active participation from parents and the community. These results underscore the program's effectiveness in fostering well-rounded, value-driven individuals.

Abstract

This community service initiative assists SMEs in Desa Raman Fajar with product labeling to enhance sales turnover and export potential. The underlying issue is business owners' lack of awareness and understanding regarding the importance of product labeling as a branding strategy. Labels serve as the product's identity, providing essential information about the origin and manufacturer, thereby increasing consumer trust and market reach. The service employs the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, leveraging local resources such as cassava to empower local businesses. The partnership involves a related business owner in Dusun 8, Desa Raman Fajar. The community service results indicate a significant increase in the partner's knowledge of labeling and branding strategies. The partner actively participated in the labeling process from start to finish, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment. Data collection involved direct observation and interviews with a single business subject, while data analysis utilized qualitative approaches to assess improvements in branding knowledge and business outcomes. As a result, the business owner reported a 20% increase in sales turnover within three months of implementing the new labeling strategy, showcasing the initiative's effectiveness. This research highlights the critical role of product labeling in enhancing SME visibility and competitiveness in local and export markets.

Abstract

The escalating environmental concerns and the demand for sustainable agricultural practices have prompted various initiatives to transform animal waste into eco-friendly organic fertilizers. This research focuses on the conversion of cow and goat manure into Eco Grow fertilizer, a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizers. This study was conducted in Desa Mrican, specifically Dusun Trenceng, involving 50 participants from local farming groups. The primary objective was to enhance the economic value of animal waste while fostering a healthier community environment. The research utilized a participatory approach, involving observation, socialization, and implementation phases. Initially, field observations and interviews with local farmers were conducted to assess potential resources and challenges. Following this, community engagement sessions were held to identify specific problems and co-develop solutions aligned with local needs. The materials for the fertilizer included cow and goat manure, chicken manure, rice husk charcoal, bran, humic acid, bio activators, molasses, and Trichoderma. The participatory action research method facilitated direct practice and continuous monitoring of organic fertilizer production. Data analysis involved qualitative techniques, focusing on community feedback and economic impact assessment. Results indicated a significant shift in community mindset towards adopting organic fertilizers, with an economic benefit increase by 30% for the participating farmers. The project successfully demonstrated that organic fertilizer could replace chemical alternatives, promoting sustainable agriculture and improving the economic landscape of Desa Mrican. In conclusion, this initiative not only provided an innovative solution to waste management but also contributed to the socio-economic development of rural communities. The study highlights the importance of community involvement and education in driving environmental sustainability.
