Abstract

Background. In recent years, the demand for personalized learning experiences has increased, particularly in the context of adaptive learning algorithms that cater to individual student needs. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive studies that evaluate the effectiveness of these algorithms on student outcomes. This study seeks to address this gap by examining how adaptive learning algorithms can personalize learning paths and improve academic performance. Purpose. The research aims to explore the correlation between the implementation of these algorithms and student engagement, retention, and success rates. Method. To achieve this, a quantitative research method was employed, involving the collection of data from 200 students in an online learning environment. The students were divided into two groups: one using a traditional learning model and the other exposed to adaptive learning algorithms. Student outcomes, including engagement metrics, test scores, and retention rates, were tracked over a semester. Results. The results revealed a significant improvement in student engagement and academic performance in the group that utilized adaptive learning algorithms compared to the traditional learning group. Moreover, students in the adaptive learning group demonstrated higher retention rates and greater satisfaction with their learning experiences. Conclusion. In conclusion, the study suggests that adaptive learning algorithms play a crucial role in enhancing personalized learning paths, ultimately leading to improved student outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of integrating adaptive technologies in modern educational systems to foster more effective learning environments.

Abstract

Background. The integration of augmented reality (AR) into STEM education has gained attention for its potential to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Traditional methods of teaching STEM subjects often struggle to provide students with immersive, hands-on learning experiences, which are crucial for understanding complex concepts. AR, with its ability to create simulated environments, offers a solution by making abstract theories more tangible and interactive. However, the impact of AR-based simulated learning on student outcomes remains underexplored. Purpose. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of AR in enhancing STEM education by simulating real-world applications of theoretical concepts. Method. The research utilized a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative assessments of student performance and qualitative feedback from students and educators. A sample of 300 high school students participated, using AR-enhanced learning modules in subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology. Data were collected over a semester, focusing on improvements in comprehension, engagement, and practical application of STEM knowledge. Results. The results showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of STEM concepts, with a 28% increase in test scores compared to traditional learning methods. Student engagement levels were also higher, as AR provided interactive, visually rich learning experiences. Educators reported that AR helped students connect abstract theories to real-world applications, fostering a deeper understanding of STEM subjects. Conclusion. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that AR-based simulated learning is an effective tool for enhancing comprehension and engagement in STEM education. These findings suggest that AR has the potential to transform how STEM subjects are taught, making learning more immersive and applicable to real-life contexts.

Abstract

Background. The quality of education in Indonesia is still stagnant, as evidenced by students’ achievements, which have not shown significant changes. This is influenced by the competence of teachers, who are not yet fully professional. Purpose. This research aims to reveal the impact of teachers’ personality competence and students’ attitudes on the quality of learning, both partially and simultaneously. Method. This study employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach, involving 57 students from SDN Pangilen 3 Sampang in grades 4, 5, and 6. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale ranging from strongly agree (5) to strongly disagree (1). Data processing includes descriptive statistical analysis, prerequisite tests such as normality and linearity, as well as validity and reliability testing. Hypothesis testing is conducted through multiple regression analysis, including simultaneous testing (F test) and partial testing (t test) to analyze the contributions between variables. Results. It shows that teachers’ personality competence and students’ attitudes have a significant impact on the quality of learning, with Sig. values of 0.000 and 0.004, respectively. The simultaneous test confirms the collective influence of both variables, with teachers’ competence contributing 34.1% and students’ attitudes contributing 19.5%. The dominance of teachers’ competence in affecting the quality of learning is evident from its relative contribution of 63.6%. Conclusion. This research emphasizes the importance of enhancing teachers’ personality competence to improve the quality of learning in schools.
