Abstract

This study aims to describe how teachers' digital literacy improves through training in using Wordwall as an interactive learning medium. The study was conducted in April–May 2025 and involved 20 elementary school teachers participating in the Teacher Working Group Forum Community in Tegalwaru District, Karawang Regency. The approach used was a descriptive, qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews, observation of training activities, and documentation of teachers' digital work. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion, and triangulation was carried out to ensure the validity of the results. The results showed that Wordwall training improved four aspects of teachers' digital literacy: technical, pedagogical, social-collaborative, and digital ethics. Teachers became more reflective and creative in designing technology-based learning, and showed increased adaptability to digital developments. Despite obstacles such as limited infrastructure, differences in digital skills, and limited time, teachers still showed resilience. They took the initiative to build collaborative networks through the Teacher Working Group Forum community.

Data on learning outcomes before and after using audiovisual media-based teaching materials in learning fiction and nonfiction texts were collected using test instruments. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, namely mean and percentage. The results of the study showed: 1) the learning outcomes of reading fiction and non-fiction texts in the control class using conventional teaching materials reached a mean standard score of 72.79 percent; 2) the learning outcomes of reading fiction and non-fiction texts in the treatment class using audio-visual media-based teaching materials reached a mean standard score of 76.06 percent; 3) the use of audiovisual media-based teaching materials in learning to read fiction and non-fiction texts in grade V of Elementary School was declared effective because the difference in the standard score was relatively significant, namely 13.94. This figure exceeded the 10.00 percent threshold.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the dominant forms of linguistic anomalies or language errors in internship reports written by Business Administration students at Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya (Polsri), analyze their causative factors, and explore their implications for professional competence. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach utilizing the Error Analysis (EA) framework based on the Indonesian General Guidelines for Spelling (PUEBI) and standard Indonesian grammar. The sample consisted of 30 internship reports from 2024 Business Administration students selected through purposive sampling.Analysis of a total of 880 linguistic anomalies (estimated) revealed that Spelling and Punctuation (SP) errors ranked the highest, accounting for 37.50% of the total errors. The most frequent sub-category within this domain was Standard Word Usage (15.34%) (e.g., Praktek instead of Praktik). The second highest was Morphological and Syntactical (MS) errors (34.66%), with Ineffective Sentences (24.43%) being the primary syntactical issue (characterized by word redundancy and the use of non-standard conjunctions like Dimana). These errors are attributed to a combination of intralingual factors (overgeneralization of affixation rules) and extralingual factors (interference from spoken/informal register). Overall, these findings have serious implications, namely diminishing the reports’ credibility and fostering a negative perception of students’ professionalism within the industry due as they are perceived as careless and lacking meticulousness.

Abstract

This study aims to map trends in artificial intelligence-based research in linguistics and literature journals in Indonesia and to map the shifts in academic literacy that have emerged due to the use of artificial intelligence technology. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The research sample comprises 67 articles from 40 journals, indexed by Sinta 1–5, for the period 2020–2025. Data were collected using document and observation techniques. The analysis focused on four main aspects: research subjects, research types, the type of artificial intelligence used, and data collection techniques, the most prominent of which are document and questionnaire techniques. The results of the study indicate that trends in AI-based linguistics and literature research in Indonesia are dominated by university- and student-led qualitative research. The most commonly used types of artificial intelligence are ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Elsa Speak. Data collection methods include surveys, tests, and questionnaires. However, shifts in academic literacy are also occurring, requiring strengthening reading and writing literacy so that the use of artificial intelligence remains ethical, reflective, and supports the sustainable development of linguistics and literature.

Abstract

In the 21st century education demands integrating technology into learning to improve students' skills and readiness to meet the challenges of the digital era. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the concept of Society 5.0 encourage the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Merdeka Learning curriculum, which aims to provide a more innovative and responsive learning experience in line with current developments. However, the implementation of technology in learning still faces various obstacles, including a lack of understanding of local wisdom in the curriculum content. In this context, it is important to develop a curriculum grounded in local wisdom to strengthen students' cultural identity and character. Bojonegoro has rich cultural potential, such as Jenogoroan painted batik, which can be introduced to younger generations through education. The lack of integration of local wisdom into university courses indicates the need for innovative approaches, such as the development of digital teaching materials in the form of e-modules. This research aims to develop e-modules in Applied Linguistics Learning Based on the Merdeka Curriculum with Bojonegoro Local Wisdom Content. With an approach based on technology and local culture. With the development of this e-module, it is hoped that students will gain a better understanding of the relationship between language and local culture, while simultaneously enhancing their academic competency in applied linguistics.“Furthermore, integrating technology into learning can increase motivation to learn and prepare students to face global challenges while preserving their cultural identity. The product will be produced through R&D research using the ADDIE design. ADDIE consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.

Abstract

The Panaekkon Saring-saring ceremony in the Toba Batak community is part of a diverse and unique set of traditional ceremonies. This study aims to uncover and explore in detail the values of politeness embodied in the Panaekkon Sapada ceremony performed by the Toba Batak community, using a normative study approach. The Panaekkon Saring-saring ceremony is a ritual for moving and re-placing the bones of saur matua, revered ancestors. This study employed a literature review method, examining various literature, including books, scientific articles, and previous research related to norms of politeness, traditional communication, and social ethics in the Toba Batak community. The normative approach was used to examine how traditional values serve as the basis for expected behavior in social interactions and traditional communication that occur during the ceremony. The results show that politeness and courtesy in the Panaekkon Saring-saring ceremony have profound meaning, reflected not only in speech but also in attitudes, actions, and the use of traditional symbols. From a linguistic perspective, politeness is evident in the use of formal, orderly, and respectful traditional language for the structure of family relationships (partuturon). Meanwhile, politeness is also reflected in the solemn attitude of the Tor-tor, as well as the ability to control emotions and maintain respect for the sanctity of ancestral graves. Thus, politeness and courtesy in the Panaekkon Saring-Saring Ceremony are not only elements of cultural aesthetics but also constitute the cultural aesthetic.
