Abstract

This study explored early childhood perceptions of religious values education at Kemala Bhayangkari 30 STIK Kindergarten. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, this study involved 20 purposively selected children aged 4-6 years. Data was collected through direct observation to measure children's understanding of religious value concepts, such as honesty, kindness, and respect. The results showed that 40% of the children understood the value of honesty well, 35% understood the value of kindness, and 25% understood the value of respect. Children who engaged in interactive teaching with parental involvement showed higher understanding (85%) than children who only received lecture-based teaching (55%). In addition, support from the school environment also significantly influenced children's understanding, with a supportive environment resulting in a 90% comprehension rate. In comparison, a less supportive climate achieved only 55%. The study concludes that interactive teaching approaches, parental involvement, and support from the school environment are crucial in shaping children's understanding of religious values. The findings highlight the importance of improving teaching methods and cooperation between schools and parents in supporting the internalization of spiritual values in early childhood.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a reform in the world of education that aims to improve quality, anti-discrimination, equalize or expand access to education and efforts to change the public's view of Children with Special Needs (ABK). This study aims to describe inclusive education services in Playgroups. The study focused on three Playgroups in Jatiuwung District. The research method used was qualitative descriptive and data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. In the observation activity, the researcher observed teaching and learning activities in three playgroups that implemented inclusive education, then interviews were conducted to determine the supporting factors and obstacles in implementing inclusive education. The documentation was carried out to show that the researcher had indeed conducted interviews with the principal, teachers and parents of students to obtain research results. The results of the study showed that inclusive education services in Playgroups had not been running optimally. Although efforts have been made, there are still obstacles, namely the lack of training for educators, there are no educators who are graduates of Special Education (PLB), there is no responsive curriculum for ABK and inadequate school facilities. This research is expected to provide recommendations for school principals and stakeholders, in this case the Ministry of Education, to improve the quality of inclusive education, so that all children, including children with special needs, can obtain equal access to education.

Abstract

One important aspect of early childhood education is the introduction to and memorization of the Qur'an, which plays a role in cognitive development and the formation of religious character. However, conventional and rigid learning approaches often cause children to feel bored and unmotivated to memorize. To overcome this, a fun approach is needed, such as joyful learning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the joyful learning approach using tahfidz cards in improving the Quran memorization ability and happiness of kindergarten students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects consisted of 34 kindergarten students in Medan City, divided into two groups: experimental and control, each with 17 students. Data were collected through a Quran memorization test and a children's happiness scale, then analyzed using the paired sample t-test and independent t-test. The results indicate that the joyful learning approach significantly improves memorization ability (t = 11.830, p = 0.000) and student happiness (t = 7.062, p = 0.000). The average increase in memorization was 17.706 points and happiness was 9.353 points. This study emphasizes the importance of joyful learning in supporting children's potential and emotional well-being.

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of project-based learning at Dharma Wanita Demangan Kindergarten to cultivate the Pancasila student profile, specifically focusing on instilling mutual cooperation from an early age. The study posits that such learning strengthens positive social character through immersive experiences, potentially shaping children's future social interactions. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected via observations of the principal, a teacher, and student learning, alongside interviews and documentation of the teaching process. The analysis involved data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings indicate that the Market Day project was successfully implemented and fostered elements of mutual cooperation among children. This success was attributed to student enthusiasm, parental support, and the teacher's creative teaching methods. However, the study also identified the dominance of certain children as a challenge requiring teacher intervention to ensure equitable participation.Ultimately, this research contributes to understanding the practical application of project-based learning in early childhood education to enhance the Pancasila student profile, particularly in nurturing mutual cooperation. It also highlights key factors influencing the effectiveness of such initiatives.

Abstract

This study was motivated by children's low interest in understanding geography concepts such as cardinal directions, location and place. This study aims to determine whether the use of Globe of Land and Water learning media can improve the understanding of children aged 5-6 years on the concept of geography. This study uses a quantitative approach in the form of a pre-experimental method with an Intact-Group Comparision design. Data were collected through observation sheets used to observe performance and learning activities in children aged 5-6 years as many as 36 children conducted for approximately one week, documentation was carried out using anecdotal notes, taking pictures and videos to find out the activities of children and assessment using a scale scoring of children's understanding of geography concepts. The t-test results obtained a 2 tailed Significant value of 0.001 <0.05 as the decision making in the Independent Sample T-Test test if H0 is rejected then Ha is accepted, then children who use the Globe of Land and Water media have a significant increase in understanding of geography concepts compared to the control group. This proves that the use of the media is effective in helping children understand abstract geography concepts. The contribution of this study is that learning by using the globe of land and water game media can be implemented as a variation in the teaching and learning process, especially to improve children's understanding of geography concepts.

Abstract

Understanding religious values in early childhood is a fundamental foundation for shaping character and behavior in accordance with religious teachings. This study analyzes the effectiveness of using visual media, such as pictures and posters, in enhancing the comprehension of religious values at Raudhatul Athfal Arrahman Tinggito Kindergarten. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved observations of the learning process for children aged 5-6 years, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of learning activities. The results indicate that visual media is highly effective in helping children grasp abstract religious concepts, reducing cognitive load, and increasing interest and participation in learning. Pictures and posters not only facilitate the understanding of worship practices, such as prayer and ablution, but also connect physical actions with spiritual meanings. This study contributes to the development of interactive and effective religious learning methods in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and highlights the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents in supporting children's learning.

Abstract

Introducing numbers to early childhood is essential to build a foundation for logical thinking and problem-solving skills that will be used throughout their lives. This study developed an interactive learning medium in the form of a Lift the Flap Book Mengenal Bilangan 1–10 to help early childhood learners recognize numbers from 1 to 10. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial involved one teacher and five parents from TK Kanisius Genuk, as well as one teacher and five parents from TK PGRI Baran. Data were collected through expert validation of the content and media, and practicality tests using questionnaires administered to teachers and parents. During the implementation phase, the media was used on a limited basis in early childhood classes to observe children’s responses and the ease of use by teachers. Evaluation was conducted by collecting feedback from teachers and parents regarding their experience using the media during learning. The validation results indicated a feasibility score of 90.5%, while the practicality test achieved a score of 91%, suggesting that the media is both valid and practical for teaching number recognition to early childhood learners. This research produced an innovative learning medium that effectively supports an engaging learning process for children.

Abstract

This study explores the application of a holistic approach in improving the inclusion of children with special needs in non-inclusive schools, taking into account psychological, social, and academic aspects. Qualitative research was conducted through observation of interactions and behavior of children at RA Bina Mutiara Hati, Semarang. Interviews with the school principal and Class A teachers revealed the characteristics of children with special needs, the school's strategies, readiness to accommodate them, and the challenges faced in managing an inclusive environment. Documentation included observation notes, interview recordings, and photos to support the analysis. Descriptive analysis techniques were used to interpret the data in a structured manner. The research results showed obstacles such as inadequate infrastructure, limited teacher training, and a lack of support from parents and the community. It was found that coordination between schools, parents, and the community plays an important role in overcoming the challenges of inclusive education. Recommendations include improving school facilities, providing ongoing training for teachers, and launching community awareness campaigns. Additionally, parental involvement in creating an inclusive educational environment is strongly emphasized. This study is expected to assist non-inclusive schools in providing more responsive services to the needs of children with special needs and in addressing various existing challenges.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to describe the impact of gadget use on early childhood development. A gadget is a small mechanical or electronic device that has a practical use, often considered a unique item. Gadgets have various interesting features and applications that everyone likes, both old, young, teenagers and even children. The use of gadgets in early childhood can have a significant impact on their development. The research method used is SLR (Systematic Literature Review). Data collection was obtained from journals, articles, books and other written sources. The research results show that gadgets have an impact on early childhood development, both positive and negative impacts. Therefore, the use of gadgets by young children requires supervision from adults who can provide appropriate limits. Keywords: Gadget; Development; Early Childhood Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap perkembangan anak usia dini. Gadget adalah perangkat mekanis atau elektronik kecil yang memiliki kegunaan praktis, sering kali dianggap sebagai barang unik. Gadget memiliki berbagai fitur dan aplikasi menarik yang disukai semua orang baik dari kalangan tua, muda, remaja bahkan anak-anak. Penggunaan gadget pada anak usia dini dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap perkembangannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah SLR (Systematic Literature Review). Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari jurnal, artikel, buku dan sumber tertulis lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gadget memberikan dampak terhadap perkembangan anak usia dini, baik dampak positif maupun dampak negatif. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan gadget oleh anak kecil memerlukan pengawasan dari orang dewasa yang dapat memberikan batasan yang sesuai. Kata kunci: Gadget; Perkembangan; Anak Usia Dini

Abstract

Abstract One of the problems with the nutritional status of toddlers in Indonesia is the picky eater behavior of preschool children, during their growth and development period they require good nutrition. Picky eater behavior is a problem for mothers in accompanying their children's eating activities. This study aims to determine the influence of mothers' eating behavior on the picky eater behavior of preschool children. The research method used was quantitative research, the research location was a kindergarten in Candimulyo subdistrict, Magelang district, the number of respondents was 95 mothers. The measuring instruments used were CEBQ as a tool for measuring picky eater behavior and DEBQ as a tool for measuring maternal eating behavior. In this study, data were analyzed using bivariate tests with chi-square. The research results show that there is an influence of mother's eating behavior on picky eater behavior with a p value of 0.006. The conclusion is that mothers' eating behavior influences the picky eater behavior of preschool children. Mothers try to have good eating behavior to be a role model for their children by consuming healthy food. Key words: Picky eater behavior; maternal eating behavior; preschool age children Abstrak Salah satu permasalahan status gizi balita di Indonesia adalah perilaku picky eater anak usia prasekolah, di masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya membutuhkan pemenuhan gizi yang baik. Perilaku picky eater menjadi permasalahan ibu dalam mendampingi aktivitas makan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perilaku makan ibu terhadap perilaku picky eater anak usia prasekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dengan penelitian kuantitatif, lokasi penelitian di TK di kecamatan Candimulyo kabupaten Magelang, jumlah responden 95 ibu. Alat ukur yang digunakan menggunakan CEBQ sebagai alat ukur perilaku picky eater dan DEBQ sebagai alat ukur perilaku makan ibu. Dalam penelitian ini data dianalisis dengan uji bivariat dengan chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ada pengaruh perilaku makan ibu  terhadap perilaku picky eater dengan p value 0,006. Kesimpulannya adalah perilaku makan ibu mempengaruhi perilaku picky eater anak usia prasekolah. Ibu berupaya untuk memiliki perilaku makan yang baik agar jadi teladan bagi anaknya dengan mengkonsumsi makanan yang sehat. Kata kunci: Perilaku picky eater; perilaku makan ibu; anak usia prasekolah.
