Abstract

Gross Motor Skills (Fundamental Movements) form the foundational competencies that students must develop before progressing to advanced motor skills in various sports disciplines. Students with strong fundamental movement skills have a greater potential to acquire specialized sports skills, and they are more likely to achieve higher levels of physical fitness. Given the critical role of these foundational movements, an introductory program was conducted at MIS Nurul Siti Aisyah Ishak Deli Tua. The method employed in this program involved a modified Snakes and Ladders game, specifically designed to enhance the fundamental movement abilities of elementary students. Each numbered square on the game board incorporated basic movement commands to reinforce essential motor patterns. The program involved 30 students, organized into 5 groups, under the guidance of lecturers participating in community service initiatives. The activities were implemented in three main stages: planning, execution, and supervision. Continuous monitoring and evaluation were carried out in collaboration with the principal and teaching staff at MIS Nurul Siti Aisyah Ishak, ensuring the ongoing development of students' foundational motor skills throughout their educational journey. The participants demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm and engagement throughout the program, indicating a positive response to the modified Snakes and Ladders approach in improving fundamental movement skills. It is anticipated that this initiative will significantly contribute to enhancing the foundational physical competencies of students at MIS Nurul Siti Aisyah Ishak Deli Tua.

Abstract

The objective of this community service activity is to enhance the competence of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in utilizing ICT-based physical activity e-modules to create enjoyable learning experiences while preventing stress in young children. The implementation method consisted of five main stages: needs assessment, training material development, training execution, classroom implementation mentoring, and result evaluation through questionnaires and observation. The results indicated significant improvement in three key indicators: ICT comprehension (from 47% to 87%), teacher involvement in teaching physical activities (from 55% to 75%), and teaching confidence (from 60% to 90%). The novelty of this program lies in the integration of physical activity and digital technology through interactive e-modules as a preventive approach to managing stress in early childhood education environments. This initiative not only enhances teachers' pedagogical capacity on an individual level but also offers a best-practice model that can be replicated nationally. Through a contextual and technology-based approach, the training reinforces the role of teachers as agents of educational transformation in the digital era and supports the creation of a healthy, adaptive, and holistic learning environment for Indonesian children.

Abstract

Fundamental coaching training for extracurricular basketball coaches in East Lombok Regency was conducted to improve their basic coaching competencies and knowledge. The main problem faced is the lack of licensed coaches, resulting in training practices that rely heavily on personal experience, which are less optimal and outdated. The training was held at GOR Ananda Masbagik, involving teachers and basketball coaches from junior high to senior high schools. The method included structured theory and practical sessions, along with evaluations using pretest and posttest instruments. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge of basic coaching principles and basketball training management. The training also facilitated discussions and networking among coaches to support sustainable development. This activity is expected to be an initial step in developing basketball coaching capacity in East Lombok, thereby optimizing and sustaining athlete development processes.

Abstract

Hockey is a relatively new sport developing in West Nusa Tenggara Province, with promising achievements demonstrated by the NTB team’s participation in the 2023 National Sports Week (PON). To support the development of hockey and the training of young athletes, a socialization program was conducted targeting physical education teachers (PJOK) of junior and senior high schools in Mataram City. The program aimed to disseminate hockey rules and technical aspects so that teachers could effectively become facilitators in athlete development at schools. The socialization was carried out through workshops and field practice over two days at the Mataram City Sports Arena, involving PJOK teachers from various schools. Evaluation was conducted using observation and questionnaires to measure improvements in participants’ knowledge and skills. The results showed a significant increase in understanding and enthusiasm during hockey practice sessions. This activity contributes to enhancing PJOK teachers’ competencies and supports hockey development in Mataram City, fostering the emergence of potential athletes capable of achieving provincial and national level achievements. Further recommendations include ongoing mentoring and provision of adequate training facilities to ensure sustainable hockey development in the region.

Abstract

The objective of this program is to raise cultural awareness, foster children’s involvement in the preservation of traditional arts, and encourage active community participation in the development of child-friendly sport tourism. The program integrates educational approaches, performing arts, and nature-based tourism activities to create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience for children aged 6 to 12 years. The implementation methods include community needs analysis, the design of training materials for traditional movement and songs, the execution of participatory workshops in open spaces (such as child-friendly integrated public spaces and nature tourism areas), the use of digital technology (regional music applications), and evaluations based on feedback from participants and the community. The program is carried out through collaboration among lecturers, students, local government, and the community. The outcomes of the activities show increased enthusiasm, active participation, and stronger social interaction among children and the local community. The novelty of the program lies in the integration of traditional movement and songs with digital technology as an educational medium for culturally-based child tourism promotion. Abstract

The fitness laboratory at Samudra University is relatively new and has not been used for teaching and learning activities. The fitness laboratory is one of the facilities provided by the university to improve learning and physical fitness of students and lecturers. Guidelines are needed in a fitness laboratory so that students and the community are more concerned with the equipment used. The existence of a new laboratory is planned to be able to answer the problems that occur in the physical education study program by providing complete equipment and information on the use of equipment. With the information in the fitness laboratory, it is hoped that it can increase the knowledge and awareness of users in using the equipment. Therefore, the author created a title from the problem that occurred, namely the need for SOP (standard operating procedures) for the use of fitness equipment at the Samudra Fitness Center at Samudra University. The method used in implementing this community service is the socialization method to students by explaining the contents of the SOP and the use of equipment. This socialization activity is needed by students and the university to be a reference in an activity. SOP is needed in every activity so that all activities run in a directed and measurable manner. Students are very enthusiastic in participating in this activity of socializing fitness SOP by wanting to participate in other activities for the development of fitness laboratories, one of which is physical training and personal trainer training. Through this activity, students can find out how a fitness laboratory works and students can find out the products in the laboratory.
