Abstract

Seyyed Hossein Nasr is a 20th-century Muslim thinker who succeeded in linking the spiritual and rational dimensions of modern life. His thinking responds to various problems of modernity experienced by contemporary humans. This article wants to look further into the problem of modernity on the social and spiritual behavior of students and its implications for the practice of Islamic education in Islamic religious universities in Indonesia through Nasr's thoughts. This article is important because it wants to reveal the various problems of modernity that can lead students to behave negatively. Students behave far from social and religious norms, such as drinking alcohol, dirty talk, promiscuity, and various other social deviations, but are often considered normal. This ultimately has an impact on attitudes that tend to neglect their responsibilities as students, decrease motivation to study, and many even do not continue their studies. As an indication, they are experiencing a spiritual crisis. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method with an analytical study approach that prioritizes the depth of argumentation and verification of literature references and evidence in the field. Data mining was also carried out through in-depth observations and interviews with 110 students taken from all study programs at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. The research found that the modern crisis causes students' spiritual piety to experience degradation due to deviant social behavior habits and disregard for religious norms. In the aspect of implementing Islamic learning, it is necessary to evaluate strengthening humanist and spiritual values at the university level, as well as realizing the integration of spiritual values in the education curriculum.

Abstract

Learning activities that build student activity and produce good learning outcomes depend on the use of learning models that are relevant to student needs. It turns out that the learning method using discussion is not enough to build student activity. This research aims to analyze the Two Stay Two Stray learning strategy on student learning outcomes in Al-Qur'an-Hadith subjects as an alternative to using the discussion learning method. The research was carried out at the Sukamiskin Islamic Boarding School Education Foundation, Bandung using a quantitative approach through the method quasi experiment. The research results show that the application of the Two Stay Two Stray learning strategy has a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes with an average pre-test score of 60.97 and an average post-test score of 74.19. These results show that the application of the Two Stay Two Stray learning strategy can be used in other subjects.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the impact of learning management carried out by lecturers on students to think critically. because critical thinking is very necessary in everyday life. Critical thinking is a way for students to have an attitude of deeply about various things and problems that are different within their scope, which attitude involves activities in solving problems, making decisions, analyzing assumptions and organizing strategies and tactics. By having critical thinking skills, students can understand how to face, analyze and solve problems in facing challenges in the era of industrial revolution.Critical thinking learning management for students is effective in improving students' abilities in mastering concepts and subject matter as well as helping students' abilities in analyzing, interpreting and evaluating and being able to convey logical and systematic data presentations. Critical thinking learning management for students supports students' ability to know their own abilities, can interpret problems critically, strengthens students in searching for new information that was not previously known, in focusing a research, the researcher provides the formulation and objectives of the problem that will be reviewed in this research, namely: what lecturers do in the Islamic religious education study program to improve the critical thinking of students in the Islamic religious education study program. This research is included in descriptive qualitative research, with a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that lecturers in the Islamic religious education study program carry out 3 strategies in improving the critical thinking of students in the Islamic religious education study program: First, develop students' critical thinking skills in the aspect of identifying using methods, models and learning approaches. The methods used are lecture, discussion, question and answer, group assignment, project, collaborative, and inquiry methods by carrying out activities where students provide information to fellow students by explaining verbally and also through presentations from students. Second, the strategy for developing students' critical thinking skills in the analytical aspect is that students are presented with scientific problems and encouraged to analyze the material, then conclude and develop aspects of evaluating the problem, either cross-checking or checking the results of the conclusions. And third, the lecturer's strategy in developing students' critical thinking skills in the Islamic religious education study program in the aspect of evaluating problems.

Abstract

In the increasingly advanced digital era, the use of information technology-based learning media is very relevant and important. Given the gap between students' needs for interactive and innovative learning media and teaching methods that still tend to be conventional in Islamic Education (PAI) subjects. This study aims to examine the feasibility of developing Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning media based on the website "FIKISMART" in the context of Fiqh Mawaris learning at the Junior High School (SMP) level. Therefore, this study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method to explore the needs of students and teachers in Fiqh Mawaris learning. Through qualitative data collection (Needs analysis and feasibility for teachers) and quantitative (Needs analysis, Validity (Material and Media Experts) and feasibility for students). The results of the study at the needs analysis stage showed that 54% of students answered "agree" which showed that website-based learning media was feasible to be developed. Furthermore, the researcher compiled a prototype of interactive and informative learning media. The results of the validity test showed that the "FIKISMART" learning media was proven valid with a score of 91% by material experts and 93% by media experts. From the feasibility test, "FIKISMART" has significant potential to be developed and used, especially to improve students' understanding of Fiqh Mawaris material. By considering the aspects of usability, relevant content, and high interactivity, this media is expected to provide a more enjoyable and effective learning experience.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the team learning model at UIN Raden Intan Lampung as an international green campus. This study employed a qualitative approach, where the data was obtained from the heads of university and faculties. The data collection techniques utilized in this study included interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. The study employed Nvivo 12Plus software for data analysis, which involved seven stages: open coding, axial coding, selective coding, matrix coding query, and word frequency query. The analysis of the learning organization research on team learning reveals that the leadership model is consistently evolving for the better, such as through interaction-expectation theory. For instance, the leaders of UIN Raden Intan Lampung excel at effectively communicating messages to ensure a shared understanding among team members, thus minimizing the risk of miscommunication. Building a strong work team is essential for fostering individual and group growth, enabling UIN Raden Intan leaders to manage conflicts effectively.

Abstract

Learning models play a vital role in supporting the achievement of learning objectives as conceptual frameworks that describe systematic procedures and guide designers.  This study aims to describe the ARKA Model (Aktivitas, Refleksi, Konseptualisasi, Aplikasi) in PAI learning at SMA Negeri Bandung through learning system theory, including planning, implementation, and evaluation. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation, which are then analyzed through the reduction stage. This research found three essential things: (1) planning the use of the ARKA model in PAI learning consists of preparing lesson plans, which include objectives, materials, methods, media, and teaching resources. The curriculum used is the 2013 national curriculum. (2) The implementation of PAI learning using the ARKA model consists of four stages adapted to the syntax of this ARKA model: Activity, Reflection, Conceptualization, and Application. These four steps have been included in the core activities. (3) The evaluation of PAI learning using the ARKA model is divided into formative and summative evaluation. The evaluation results of the ARKA learning model in PAI learning positively impact students in improving their ability to think critically, communicate well, collaborate, and be creative.

Abstract

Fishermen all over the world have traditions to gather with their families and friends to give thanks for their harvest and the abundance of the sea. This study described the existence, implementation, and religious values of the Nadran tradition in the coastal areas of Pandeglang Regency of Banten, Indonesia. The research used qualitative research with the Anthropology of education as the data analysis tool, especially through cultural transmission theory. This research found that there had been a process of cultural transmission through the Nadran ceremony from one individual or group to another group. Then, in terms of context, the ceremony is still in accordance with past generations. However, in terms of content and method, there have been changes. It found that the philosophical value of the nadran tradition in the Islamic view is that culture is drawn to religion because in the Panimbang and Labuan areas, nadran events, which always used to use wayang golek (puppet shows), have now been replaced with other activities such as prayer together (istigosah), religious lectures, and other Islamic activities. It indicates the existing cultural norms inserted into Islamic religious and cultural values. Even though the buffalo head offerings are still used, this nadran expresses gratitude to God. Apart from being a tourist attraction, this nadran can also instill religious character values in the younger generation.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Piil Pesenggiri local wisdom into character education through Social Sciences Subject (IPS) in elementary schools in Metro City, Lampung. Piil Pesenggiri local wisdom, which consists of four main pillars; respect for others (Nemui Nyimah), cooperation (Sakai Sambayan), achievement (Juluk Adek), and equality (Nengah Nyampur), has been recognized as an important foundation for strengthening character learning in the school environment. This study utilizes qualitative approach and case study in three different elementary schools in Metro City. The research method used is multi-case skin, which collects data through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and analysis of learning documents. The results depict that the application of Piil Pesenggiri values in social sciences subject significantly promoted positive characters development among learners, including respect for diversity, cooperation, motivation for achievement, and understanding of equality. This practice not only enriches the social sciences subject’s curriculum with culturally relevant content but also contributes to the formation of positive social attitudes and behaviors among learners. These findings suggest that local wisdom such as Piil Pesenggiri can be used as an effective instrument in character education, supporting a holistic vision of education in Indonesia, especially in the diverse community contexts such as Metro City, Lampung. This research provides important insights into the potential of local wisdom in forming the basis of strong and culturally relevant character education.

Abstract

This study examines the evaluation of the learning practice program at school, specifically the practical field experience program organized by the Education Laboratory of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This program seeks to develop the pedagogical ability of preservice teachers through hands-on experience in the field. This research employed a mixed method, also known as evaluation research. The researchers employed the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model to assess the program's effectiveness. The findings reveal that the practical field experience program improves preservice teachers' pedagogical competence. However, it still requires improvement and development in various areas, including choosing preferred schools/madrasas, implementation time, and the number of teaching practices. The findings of this study show that program participants who adhere to the program receive more expertise in real-world classroom learning practices. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the practical field experience program at the FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta helps develop the pedagogical competence of preservice teachers. However, it requires further improvement and development to improve program quality.

Abstract

The decline in religious values and morals among students in Tanah Datar Regency indicates a significant moral crisis. Morals are an important foundation for obtaining blessed knowledge. The school and community need Immediate and strategic action to overcome this problem and create a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also noble and religiously observant. This research employed development research (Research and Development). The data source of this research was PAI (Islamic Religious Education) teachers at four MAN (Islamic Senior High Schools) in Tanah Datar Regency. The data collection techniques were observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative. The results showed that the validity of the model of extracurricular activities based on religious strengthening in the character building of students obtained an average of 100% with a highly valid category. The results of the practicality test obtained an average of 91.7% in the very practical category. Thus, the model of extracurricular activities based on religious strengthening in character building is declared very effective
