Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRAK This study aims to analyze the influence of unemployment and poverty on economic growth in urban areas of Aceh, including Banda Aceh, Lhokseumawe, Langsa, Subulussalam, and Sabang during the 2020–2024 period. The research utilizes secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analytical method employed is panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model, which was selected based on the results of the Chow Test and Hausman Test. The findings indicate that unemployment has a negative and significant effect on economic growth, implying that an increase in unemployment levels will reduce the economic growth rate in urban Aceh. Meanwhile, poverty has a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth, suggesting that there is no strong statistical evidence that poverty has a real impact on economic growth. Simultaneously, unemployment and poverty exert a significant influence on economic growth, with an Adjusted R-squared value of 0.469961, indicating that 46.99% of the variation in economic growth can be explained by both variables. These findings emphasize the importance of policies focused on job creation, improvement of labor quality, and more effective poverty alleviation programs to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth in urban areas of Aceh.   Keywords: unemployment, poverty, economic growth, panel data, urban Aceh

Abstract

This study is motivated by the tourism potential of Tamsar 27 in Bengkelang Village, Bandar Pusaka Sub-district, Aceh Tamiang Regency, which offers clear river streams, scenic natural landscapes, and a peaceful rural atmosphere, yet has not been optimally managed to improve the local economy. The purpose of this research is to analyze strategies for community-based tourism management to enhance local welfare. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using field observations, interviews, and documentation as data-collection techniques. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion-drawing stages. The results reveal five main strategies for improving community economy through tourism management at Tamsar 27: (1) improving tourism infrastructure; (2) empowering local communities through training in tourism management and entrepreneurship; (3) diversifying tourism-related businesses such as homestays and local specialty products; (4) optimizing digital promotion; and (5) strengthening partnerships among the village government, village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), and private sectors to ensure sustainable tourism development. The implications of this study demonstrate that applying the principles of community-based tourism and empowerment theory provides an effective foundation for developing sustainable rural tourism destinations while simultaneously enhancing local income and community self-reliance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Bank Indonesia interest rate (BI Rate), banking credit, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on the Indonesia Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) during the period 2005–2024. The research employs multiple linear regression analysis using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach with secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the World Bank. The results indicate that the three independent variables BI Rate, banking credit, and FDI have a significant effect on IHSG, either partially or simultaneously. The BI Rate has a negative and significant influence, while banking credit and FDI have positive and significant effects. The adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) of 0.9591 shows that 95.91% of the variation in IHSG can be explained by these variables, while the remaining 4.09% is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings confirm that maintaining monetary stability, increasing productive credit, and encouraging foreign investment play crucial roles in strengthening Indonesia’s capital market performance. Therefore, policies should focus on maintaining interest rate stability, expanding credit distribution, and creating a conducive investment climate to support a sustainable and resilient capital market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the General Allocation Fund (DAU), the Special Allocation Fund (DAK), and the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the poverty rate in North Sumatra Province. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis using secondary data from 2004 to 2023. The results show that the DAU has a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate, meaning that the greater the DAU allocation, the lower the poverty rate in the province. Conversely, the DAK has a positive and significant effect on the poverty rate, indicating that an increase in DAK is actually followed by an increase in the poverty rate. Meanwhile, GRDP shows a negative effect on the poverty rate, but the effect is not significant. The coefficient of determination obtained shows that the DAU, DAK, and GRDP are able to explain variations in the poverty rate in North Sumatra Province. Simultaneously, the test results show that all three variables have a significant effect on the poverty rate. These findings suggest the importance of proper management of fund allocation and optimization of regional economic sectors to reduce poverty effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), General Allocation Fund (DAU), and Special Allocation Fund (DAK) on Capital Expenditure in Bukittinggi City. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bukittinggi City, covering the observation period from 2013 to 2024. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. Data processing was carried out using the EViews application to examine the relationship and influence of each independent variable on the dependent variable. The results of the study indicate that Local Own-Source Revenue has a positive and significant effect on Capital Expenditure in Bukittinggi City. In addition, the General Allocation Fund is also proven to have a positive and significant effect on Capital Expenditure. These findings suggest that the higher the PAD and DAU received by the local government, the greater the allocation of capital expenditure to support regional development. Furthermore, the Special Allocation Fund also shows a positive and significant effect on Capital Expenditure. This confirms that these three sources of regional revenue play an important role in increasing capital expenditure in Bukittinggi City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD) and the General Allocation Fund (DAU) on Regional Expenditure and Economic Growth in North Sumatra Province. The study uses time series data covering the period from 2010 to 2024, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK). The research method employed is a quantitative approach using path analysis to identify both direct and indirect effects among the variables examined. The results show that Local Own-Source Revenue has a positive but insignificant effect on regional expenditure, while the General Allocation Fund has a positive and significant effect on regional expenditure. Furthermore, Local Own-Source Revenue and regional expenditure are proven to have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in North Sumatra Province. In contrast, the General Allocation Fund shows a negative and significant effect on economic growth. Indirectly, both PAD and DAU influence economic growth through regional expenditure as an intervening variable. These findings indicate that increasing PAD and managing DAU effectively and efficiently can strengthen regional fiscal capacity and promote sustainable economic growth in North Sumatra Province

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI), internet access, and government expenditure on education on the average years of schooling in Indonesia from 2009 to 2024. Employing a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression and secondary data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the research aims to clarify how human development quality, digital expansion, and fiscal commitment interact to shape national educational outcomes. The findings reveal that HDI and internet access exert a positive and significant impact on the increase in average years of schooling, underscoring the essential roles of human capital quality and equitable digital infrastructure in driving educational transformation. Conversely, government spending on education shows a negative and significant effect, suggesting potential inefficiencies in budget allocation or the long-term nature of educational investments. The model demonstrates exceptionally strong predictive power with an R² value of 99.57%. These results highlight the need to enhance the efficiency of education spending, accelerate the equal distribution of internet access, and strengthen human development synergy to ensure sustainable improvements in educational quality.
