Abstract

The ventilator is a supporter of respiratory needs which is very important for the patient so that there are several parameters that must be monitored specifically, such as the measurement of pressure and flow rate used in the ventilator system, the accuracy of which must be in accordance with the accuracy of the respirator. One of the important parameters to monitor is PIF (Peak Inspiratory Flow) which is the peak inspiratory flow rate given through the ventilator. PIF that is too high or too low can cause adverse effects on the patient. PIF monitoring can be seen through the PIF value and waveform on the PIF. Monitoring the waveform of the PIF will be very useful to improve the results of using the ventilator. The purpose of this research is to get the accuracy and precision of the sensor to display the waveform of the ventilator output. The procedure carried out is to use the F1031V sensor to detect the flow generated by the ventilator and then detect the PIF value and PIF waveform. From this research, the measurement of accuracy and precision of the F1031V sensor to detect PIF and generate a waveform graph is said to be good. This is because the highest error value is ±2.04% at the 20 LPM setting. While the value of the largest standard deviation at the 30 LPM setting is 1.517 and the greatest uncertainty value at the 30 LPM setting is 0.061. Then, the largest correction value is found in the setting of 20 LPM and 30 LPM, namely 0.4. PIF monitoring is carried out to maximize patient care and reduce the breakdown time on the ventilator.

Abstract

Heart Rate Variability or heart rate in humans is used to monitor the heart rate in humans, the function of the heart rate monitor is to monitor the human heart rate. The purpose of making this tool is to compare the results of heart rate readings using the discrete wavelet transform method to facilitate the detection of R peak. This can be learned by evaluating and studying each decomposition result from level 1 to level 4 on Discrete Wavelet Transform processing using Haar mother wavelets. This study uses a raspberry pi 3B as a microcontroller as a data processor that is obtained from the ECG module. From this study, it can be concluded that in heart rate readings, level 2 decomposition details coefficient has the best value as data processing that helps for heart rate readings with an error value of 0.531%, HRV readings of 0.005 in comparison with phantom tools and a standard deviation of 0.039. The advantage of this tool is a good precision value in HRV and BPM readings. In reading the HRV of the respondent, it was found that each initial condition of the patient's HRV would be high due to the respondent's unstable condition. The disadvantage of this tool is that there is a delay in running the program, there is no display in the form of a signal in real time.

Abstract

Physical activity is an activity of body movement by utilizing skeletal muscles that is carried out daily. One form of physical activity is an exercise that aims to improve health and fitness. Parameters related to health and fitness are heart and muscle activity. Strong and prolonged muscle contractions result in muscle fatigue. To measure muscle fatigue, the authors used electromyographic (EMG) signals through monitoring changes in muscle electrical activity. This study aims to make a tool to detect the effect of muscle fatigue on cardiac signals on physical activity. This research method uses Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) with one group pre-test-post-test research design. The independent variable is the EMG signal when doing plank activities, while the dependent variable is the result of monitoring the EMG signal. To get more detailed measurement results, the authors use MPF, MDF and MNF and perform a T-test. The test results showed a significant value (pValue <0.05) in the pre-test and post-test. The Pearson correlation test got a value of 0.628 which indicates there is a strong relationship between exercise frequency and plank duration. When the respondent experiences muscle fatigue, the heart signal is affected by noise movement artifacts that appear when doing the plank. It is concluded that the tools in this study can be used properly. To overcome noise in the EMG signal, it is recommended to use dry electrodes and high-quality components. To improve the ability to transmit data, it is recommended to use a Raspberry microcontroller.

Abstract

Sport is a physical activity that can optimize body development through muscle movement. Physical activity without rest with strong and prolonged muscle contractions results in muscle fatigue. Muscle fatigue that occurs causes a decrease in the work efficiency of muscles. Electrocardiography (ECG) is a recording of the heart's electrical activity on the body's surface. EMG is a technique for measuring electrical activity in muscles. This study aims to detect the effect of muscle fatigue on cardiac signals by monitoring ECG and EMG signals. This research method uses the Maximum Heart Rate with a research design of one group pre-test-post-test. The independent variable is the ECG signal when doing plank activities, while the dependent variable is the result of monitoring the ECG signal. To get the Maximum Heart Rate results, respondents use the Karnoven formula and perform the T-test. Test results show a significant value (pValue <0.05) in pre-exercise and post-exercise. When the respondent experiences muscle fatigue, it shows the effect of changes in the shape of the ECG signal which is marked by the presence of movement artifact noise. It concluded that the tools in this study can be used properly. This study has limitations including noise in the AD8232 module circuit and the display on telemetry where the width of the box cannot be adjusted according to the ECG paper.is It recommended for further research to use components with better quality and replace the display using the Delphi interface.

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition characterized by impaired kidney function, leading to disruptions in metabolism, fluid balance, and electrolyte regulation. Hemodialysis serves as a supportive therapy for individuals with CKD, prolonging life but unable to fully restore kidney function. Factors influencing urea and creatinine levels in hemodialysis patients include blood flow velocity, dialysis duration, and dialyzer selection. This research aims to establish a standard for calculating the dialysate flow rate, thereby enhancing dialysis efficiency. The study employs a pre-experimental "one group post-test" design, lacking baseline measurements and randomization, although a control group was utilized. The design's weakness lies in the absence of an initial condition assessment, making conclusive results challenging. Measurement comparisons between the module and the instrument yielded a 5.30% difference, while the difference between the hemodialysis machine and standard equipment was 4.02%. Furthermore, six module measurements against three comparison tools showed a 0.17% difference for the hemodialysis machine with standard equipment, and a 0.18% difference for the module with standard equipment, with a 0.23% discrepancy between the two. Further analysis is necessary to understand the clinical significance and implications of these measurement variations on overall dialysis efficacy

Abstract

Respiratory disorders are a critical health problem. Respiration is a vital activity for the proper functioning of the body. Pandemic SARS-CoV-2 virus is a highly contagious disease and causes rapid spread of droplets. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the bioradar sensor used in non-contact respiration monitoring by exploring the distance to find out the optimal distance for sensor readings in monitoring respiration rate per minute. The results of this study for the 3 treatments given to respondents did not affect the results of measuring respiration rate. At distances of 10 cm and 25 cm they produce 40-43 times/minute, distances of 50 cm and 75 cm produce 33-36 times/minute, distances of 100 cm produce 20-22 times/minute and distances of 125 cm and 150 cm are not detected. The highest error value is -100.00% at a distance of 125cm and 150cm and the lowest error value is 3.39% at a distance of 100 cm. based on the results of the analysis of the effectiveness of sensor readings on distance, which is quite effective at a distance of ±100 cm. It is hoped that this research can reduce the level of disease transmission during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the study showed that the three treatments given to respondents did not affect the results of respiratory rate measurements. At a distance of 10 cm and 25 cm, it produced 40-43 times/minute, at a distance of 50 cm and 75 cm it produced 33-36 times/minute, at a distance of 100 cm it produced 20-22 times/minute, and at a distance of 125 cm and 150 cm it was not detected. The highest error value is -100.00% at a distance of 125 cm and 150 cm, and the lowest error value is 3.39% at a distance of 100 cm. Based on the analysis of the effectiveness of the sensor reading at a distance, it was found to be quite effective at a distance of ±100 cm. The implication of this study is that this bioradar sensor is effective in monitoring breathing rate at a distance of about 100 cm. The results of this study are expected to reduce the level of disease transmission during the Cov-19 pandemic, as non-contact monitoring can help in avoiding droplet spread, which is one of the ways the virus is transmitted. This study provides important information on the use of bioradar sensors in non-contact monitoring of breathing that can be used to improve the safety and quality of healthcare, especially in the context of a pandemic

Abstract

EMG signals have random, non-linear, and non-stationary characteristics that require the selection of the suitable feature extraction and classifier for application to prosthetic hands based on EMG pattern recognition. This research aims to implement EMG pattern recognition on an embedded Raspberry Pi system to recognize hand motion as a preliminary study for a smart prosthetic hand. The contribution of this research is that the time domain feature extraction model and classifier machine can be implemented into the Raspberry Pi embedded system. In addition, the machine learning training and evaluation process is carried out online on the Raspberry Pi system. The online training process is carried out by integrating EMG data acquisition hardware devices, time domain features, classifiers, and motor control on embedded machine learning using Python programming. This study involved ten respondents in good health. EMG signals are collected at two lead flexor carpi radialis and extensor digitorum muscles. EMG signals are extracted using time domain features (TDF) mean absolute value (MAV), root mean square (RMS), variance (VAR) using a window length of 100 ms. Supervised machine learning decision tree (DT), support vector machine (SVM), and k-nearest neighbor (KNN) are chosen because they have a simple algorithm structure and less computation. Finally, the TDF and classifier are embedded in the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ microcomputer. Experimental results show that the highest accuracy is obtained in the open class, 97.03%. Furthermore, the additional datasets show a significant difference in accuracy (p-value <0.05). Based on the evaluation results obtained, the embedded system can be implemented for prosthetic hands based on EMG pattern recognition.

Abstract

The increasing number of companies and the number of batik productions in the Ngawi region is directly proportional to the amount of wastewater produced and thus poses a burden on the environment as the overflow of wastewater is absorbed from the production process. The results of the laboratory analyses showed that the values for TSS, color, COD, BOD, total ammonia, oil, and grease exceeded the quality standards. Prevention of pollution from wastewater is done through community empowerment. Community empowerment aims to realize the development of Appropriate Technology for Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) and the prevention of Wastewater Pollution to the Environment Around Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) Griya Batik Widi Nugraha, Ngawi Regency. The benefit of community empowerment is to provide experience for other Batik Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) development programs. Community empowerment at UKM Griya Batik Widi Nugraha Ngawi uses methods of document collection, site surveys, preparation of processing systems, training, and demonstrations. The target group of community empowerment activities at Griya Batik Widi Nugraha Ngawi are the owner of Griya Batik Widi Nugraha Ngawi, batik workers at Griya Batik Widi Nugraha Ngaw, workers in the dyeing and washing process, administrators of Ngawi Batik Association and construction workers. Results of Community Empowerment of UKM Griya Batik Widi Nugraha Workers and Surroundings Together with the academic community of Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya, appropriate technology was built for a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with a capacity of 1,464.5 liters per day, which is still safe for UKM Griya Batik Widi Nugraha Ngawi Regency. The stages of wastewater treatment are pre-treatment, secondary treatment, tertiary treatment, and storage of the final product. The results of the functional tests based on effluent samples from the final treatment showed that the treatment plant was able to reduce the levels of TSS, color, COD, BOD, total ammonia, oil, and grease that exceeded the quality standard to meet the quality requirements as per the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P.16/MENLAHK /SETJEN/KUM.1/2019. These results provide benefits for UKM Griya Batik Widi Nugraha to prevent pollution and can use treated water as a source of fish pond water and watering the garden. It is recommended that community empowerment can be continued by other SMEs that have the potential to dispose of wastewater from production activities and pollute the environment through the use of appropriate technology (TTG) research results by lecturers or students so that they do not stop as intakes.

Abstract

The Malang regency district has the fourth-highest smoking prevalence rate among those over 10 years old, at 30%. 23.91% of the population aged 10 to 18 are active smokers who smoke daily. The number of passive smokers or people exposed to cigarette smoke is estimated to be higher than the number of smokers because when active smokers smoke, they also interact with non-smokers. Residents of Rukun Warga 03 Dampit village who suffer from hypertension and smoke are believed to have an impact on the incidence of heart disease and stroke, characterized by changes in the configuration of the ECG signal and signs of stroke. The purpose of this community service is to get an overview of the residents of RW.03 Dampit Village who have the potential to get heart diseases and strokes. The methodology used in conducting the community service under the community partnership program (PKM) is a pre-experimental single case study, i.e. the results of studying cardiac records of partners with a target of 50 residents in the RT environment. 007 RW. 03. The results of the community service activities showed that most (59%) reported ST elevation (ischemia) and 30% reported ST depression, the remaining 16% reported T elevation, and another 16% reported T depression. The results of his ECG recording showed evidence of M-shape, ST elevation, and ST depression (arrhythmia and ischemia). Meanwhile, all VES (ventricular extrasystoles) indicated are female. The conclusion from this community service is that there are more people who have the potential to get heart disease and stroke than active smokers. The benefits to the community are to know the condition of the residents of RW.03 Dampit Village who are potentially affected by heart disease and strokes and to improve residents' knowledge of the dangers of smoking for both active and passive smokers, the importance of eating healthy foods, and routine of exercise.
