Abstract

Puskesmas in Sidoarjo Regency do not yet have facilities for monitoring LBW in real time via android either by health workers at the health centre or the patient's family. Puskesmas Taman serves communities spread across several villages with a coverage area spread across several villages. This is an obstacle for families to get access to monitor the patient's progress, because the patient is in the NICU or ICU room. Another thing is that there is no training for users in the use of telemedicine-based Baby Incubator equipment. The role of users and families of patients is very important to keep the equipment in good condition. However, operating trainings based on new technology for users have never been conducted. Efforts to solve the above problems are to carry out counselling and assistance in the use of baby incubator equipment to users including nurses, midwives and other non-health worker users, so as to increase the knowledge of officers or users which in turn will have an impact on increasing the productivity of officers or users and improving the quality of service at the health centre. The purpose of this Community Service is to increase the role and participation of Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya in improving the degree of public health in the Puskesmas Taman area, Sidoarjo Regency. The results of community service through the application of telemedicine-based Baby Incubator at Puskesmas Taman are increased knowledge and skills regarding telemedicine-based baby incubator equipment. This will improve health services, especially for babies who need intensive care. The implementation of this technology provides significant benefits, including increased accessibility of health services, speed of response to patient health conditions, family involvement in care, and efficient use of resources. Assistance to Puskesmas personnel and patient families in the form of training, monitoring and evaluation of the use of appropriate technology in the form of Telemedicine-based baby incubator utilization.

Abstract

Heart Rate Variability or heart rate in humans is used to monitor the function of the human heart. This research designed a tool to compare the results of heart rate readings using the discrete wavelet transform method to facilitate the detection of R peak. This can be obtained by evaluating and studying each decomposition result from level 1 to level 4 on Discrete Wavelet Transform processing using Haar mother wavelets. This study further used a raspberry pi 3B as the microcontroller of the data processor obtained from the ECG module. Based on the results obtained in this study, it can be concluded that in heart rate readings, level 2 decomposition details coefficient had the best value as data processing that helps the heart rate readings with an error value of 0.531% compared to HRV readings that obtained 0.005 using phantom tools and a standard deviation of 0.039. Furthermore, the advantage obtained from this tool is a good precision value in HRV and BPM readings. In reading the HRV of the respondent, it was found that each initial condition of the patient's HRV would be high due to the respondent's unstable condition. The disadvantage of this tool is a delay in running the program and no display in the form of a signal in real time.

Abstract

One of the goals of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG's) is to lower infant and child mortality rates. In 2006 according to the World Health Organization (WHO) infant mortality rate in the world was 49 per1000 births and the most cause of death was Low Birth Weight Babies. In Sidoarjo Hospital the birth rate of BBLR in the last 3 months is still high ranging from 30-38 babies. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of nesting and lighting in physiological function for LBW babies in RSUD Sidoarjo. This type of research is a quasy experiment with a nonrandomized pretest and posttest with control group design with purposive sampling in the Infant Room and NICU of Sidoarjo Hospital as many as 61 (40 control groups and 21 intervention groups). Measuring instruments used are luxmeters, heart rate meters, oximeters, thermometers and observation  sheets. The independent variables are the use of light shields and nesting and the dependent variables are pulse frequency and oxygen saturation. The results showed there was a difference in value between pre and post test heart rate and oxygen saturation in the intervention group with a value of p< 0.05 and there was a difference between the control group and the intervention group in the respiration rate counts pre and post intervention, the post heart rate intervention, and the post temperature intervention with a value of p<0.05. The physiological condition of the baby is related to temperature, respiration and relatively stable heart rate and the use of nesting and light protection affects the physiological stability of the heart rate and oxygen saturation

Abstract

The One Health paradigm, with its integral recognition of human, animal, and environmental health interdependencies, has garnered increasing endorsement in recent years. Equally important is the agro-maritime sector, given its crucial role in food security and international commerce, which is now acknowledged as a fundamental component within the One Health strategy. Contemporary complex health issues such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and food safety threats necessitate a holistic, interdisciplinary approach that considers the trifecta of human, animal, and environmental health. The amalgamation of agro-maritime and One Health strategies is paramount in addressing burgeoning challenges that imperil global health security. These encompass the proliferation of zoonotic diseases, the surge in antimicrobial resistance, and escalating concerns surrounding food safety. The significance of advancing surveillance, monitoring, and control measures, along with fostering innovative technologies and strategies, is underscored to pre-empt and mitigate the impacts of these health threats. Spanning agriculture, aquaculture, and fisheries, the agro-maritime sector's substantial role in global health security is highlighted due to its profound influence on food production, nutrition, and environmental sustainability. The One Health model, a comprehensive approach acknowledging the intertwined nature of human, animal, and environmental health, provides a robust framework to confront emerging global health threats such as antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic disease spread, and climate change-induced health impacts. The discourse emphasizes the criticality of interdisciplinary collaboration and the deployment of a holistic perspective to tackle complex global health challenges. By strengthening the argument for the convergence of One Health and agro-maritime sectors, this paper seeks to galvanize proactive and collaborative efforts among stakeholders to fortify global health security in an increasingly unpredictable world

Abstract

This letter to the editor addresses the significant findings and limitations of the study on the impact of family roles on toddler nutrition. While the research reveals a crucial link between family dynamics and the incidence of wasting, it is constrained by its cross-sectional design and dependence on self-reported data, potentially obscuring causal relationships. The letter advocates for the inclusion of longitudinal studies and qualitative methods to better understand family influences on nutritional outcomes. It also emphasizes the importance of culturally informed approaches and the alignment of research with public health policies to develop effective interventions for improving toddler nutrition across diverse communities.

Abstract

New students at boarding schools often experience culture shock which can affect their EQ (Emotional Quotient). Tahajud prayer as a sunnah worship is believed to have an influence on increasing EQ (Emotional Quotient) through deeper spiritual habituation. A new santri who makes tahajud prayer a routine worship will have a good EQ (Emotional Quotient). In line with the purpose of this study to determine the effect of tahajud prayer on the EQ (Emotional Quotient) of new female santri at Pondok Pesantren At-Taufiqiyah Sumenep. This study used a cross- sectional observational design with a sample of 43 new female santri selected using simple random sampling technique. The results of the analysis of this study using the ordinal regression analysis test obtained a p-value of 0.01 <0.05 which means that there is an effect of tahajud prayer on the EQ (Emotional Quotient) of new female santri at the At-Taufiqiyah Islamic Boarding School Sumenep. The implementation of tahajud prayer can affect the EQ (Emotional Quotient) of new female santri, because by regularly implementing tahajud prayer and parenting factors from parents and administrators tend to have a better level of self-awareness, emotional control, motivation, empathy, and social skills compared to those who rarely do it.

Abstract

Rheumatism is a condition marked by joint inflammation, swelling, and pain, often causing limitations in daily activities and decreasing productivity. Prolonged symptoms, especially over 10 years, may lead to joint damage, making patients reliant on others and impacting their social and economic functioning. This study aims to examine the effect of rheumatic exercises on pain levels among rheumatic patients in the Kalijudan Public Health Center area, Surabaya. The research employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving 31 participants selected through purposive sampling. Rheumatic exercises were the independent variable, while pain levels were the dependent variable, measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level set at p<0.05. The results showed a Wilcoxon test value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant difference in pain levels before and after the intervention. These findings demonstrate that rheumatic exercises effectively reduce pain in rheumatic patients. The study concludes that implementing rheumatic exercise programs can be a beneficial non-pharmacological intervention to manage pain in patients with rheumatism, particularly in community health settings like the Kalijudan Public Health Center.

Abstract

Anemia is a major health problem in adolescent girls that can have an impact on learning achievement, productivity, and overall health. One of the interventions carried out to reduce the prevalence of anemia is the administration of blood supplement tablets (TTD). However, the compliance rate of TTD consumption among adolescent girls is still low. This study seeks to examine the impact of educational interventions utilizing animated video media on the awareness and adherence to Fe tablet consumption for the prevention of anemia among adolescent girls at SMP Negeri 3 Bojonegoro. The research employs a pre-experimental methodology characterized by a one-group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique implemented was cluster sampling, with a total of 55 adolescents serving as participants. The results showed that education with animated video media significantly increased knowledge and compliance with TTD consumption with a p-value of 0.000 and 0.004. Before being educated, most of the respondents had a low level of knowledge and compliance with TTD consumption. After being educated, there was an increase in the knowledge aspect by 69% and an increase in the compliance aspect by 62%. Thus, education using animated video media has proven to be effective in increasing the knowledge and adherence of young women to TTD consumption and can be used as a good learning medium for young women at junior high school age. While the findings are promising, the single-group design and limited setting highlight the need for future studies using more rigorous experimental methods and broader population coverage.
