Abstract

Jalan Raya Taman is located in Taman Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province, which has a section length of ±8KM with a 4/2 T type which is the main route for traffic flow. Along Jalan Raya Taman there are business, commercial and densely populated areas which affect traffic flow and are prone to vehicle build-up. The U-Turn facility on Jalan Raya Taman cannot fully overcome the problem of conflict, because the more vehicles that use the U-Turn facility at the same time or close together will cause a queue of vehicles making the U-Turn and cause traffic jams. in the same or opposite direction. The aim of this research is to determine the average volume of vehicles using the U-Turn facility on Jalan Raya Taman. This research method was carried out quantitatively using the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI). The results of this research concluded that the highest Skr value for the volume of vehicles making a U-Turn at the U-Turn facility on Jalan Raya Taman, Sidoarjo was obtained by U-Turn 1 on Monday. with a value of 1188.00 Skr/hour and U-Turn 2 on Tuesday with a value of 1089.50 Skr/hour.

Abstract

Krian market is one of the largest traditional markets in Sidoarjo Regency which has serious problems in providing parking facilities. Limited parking space causes congestion, traffic disruption and inconvenience for visitors and traders. This study aims to analyze parking space requirements and parking characteristics. The research methods used are parking patrol survey and parking space inventory survey. The results show that the limited parking space in Krian market encourages visitors and traders to utilize the road shoulder as a parking area, which in turn worsens traffic conditions. In addition, the high volume of vehicles during peak hours further increases the pressure on the available parking capacity. As a solution, this study recommends the development of additional parking facilities, optimization of existing parking spaces, as well as the implementation of a more effective parking management approach. The implementation of these measures is expected to improve the efficiency of market operations, facilitate vehicle mobility, and create a more organized and comfortable market environment for all parties.

Abstract

Indonesia generated 4.14 million tons of plastic waste in 2021, making it the second-largest plastic waste contributor in the world. One type of plastic, Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), is particularly difficult to decompose and has negative environmental impacts. This study aims to analyze the use of PET waste in Asphalt Concrete–Binder Course (AC-BC) mixtures to improve pavement quality while reducing plastic waste. The method used involves analyzing the gradation of aggregate, asphalt, and PET waste mixtures based on the 2018 General Specifications of Bina Marga (Revision 2). PET waste was selected due to its high availability and durability. The results indicate that there is an ideal composition of aggregate, asphalt, and PET that meets the required gradation criteria. This study shows that PET waste can be utilized as a technically feasible asphalt mixture component and contributes to sustainable infrastructure development.

Abstract

The increasing volume of transportation users annually has had an unstable impact on the quality of infrastructure construction, particularly on asphalt roads. Therefore, there is a need for monitoring to effectively and efficiently address damages to asphalt roads. One method of maintenance or repair for asphalt pavement that exceeds the planned lifespan in the Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (AC-BC) layer is through the diversion of common filler materials using the Marshall method. The researcher aims to explore the substitution of common filler materials, one of which involves utilizing waste glass powder to enhance layer stability. The waste glass powder material utilized is sourced from the production remnants of CV Sari Jaya Aluminum, located in Mojokerto. The research aims to investigate the impact of waste glass powder on Marshall parameters AC-BC Laston layer. The optimal and most efficient outcome obtained from the use of waste glass powder filler influence is a filler variation level of 2.5% with a planned asphalt content of 6.0%. All the obtained Marshall characteristic parameter results have met the requirements of the General Specification of Bina Marga (revision 2) Year 2018.
