Abstract

AbstractThe researcher choosed figure of speech of comparison and contradiction as the focus of the research since they are common in literary works. The researcher used different methods for the sake of data collecting and analysis. The purpose of the methods was to have systematic, factual, and accurate description of the fact, nature, and relation between the related problems. The problem of this research was the language style ofthe two types of figure of speech, the meaning of the language style of each figure of speech, and its implementation as a model in the learning at school. The result of the analysis of the using figure of speech comparison and contradiction in novel Seribu Malam untuk Muhammad revealed figure of speech of comparison such as metaphor, personification, depersonification, allegory, antithesis, pleonasm, periphrases, anticipation, correction are there. The figure of speech of contradiction was there such as hyperbole, litotes, oxymoron, satire, innuendo, paradox, climax, anti-climax, anastrophe and hypalase. The implementation was done to year-12 of Senior High School on the basic competence of 3.9 which is about analyzing the content as well as the linguistic features of novel. Abstract

Abstract.Sentebang village is one area in Sambas Regency, of which the Sambas Dialect of Malay language (BMDS) emerged and developed. Used in daily language, BMDS functions as the means of communication between the community and as the identity of Sentebang village. This paper discusses the foot movement verbs in BMDS including the lexemes, components, lexical meanings, and semantic functions of leg movements. This study aims to describe the foot verbs in BMDS based on the problems. The output of this study is as the material for comparison to other languages and as language preservation and insights for readers. The findings discovered 34 lexemes of foot verbs, in the form of leg movements, 8 lexemes using soles of the feet, 2 lexemes using the heel, 2 lexemes using instruments, 2 lexemes of leg movements using the help of hands, 2 lexemes using off footing, 2 lexemes of leg movements using airing and landing feet, 2 lexemes using fingertips, 2 lexemes by sitting cross-legged, 3 lexemes by knee-folding, 3 lexemes by legs-folding, 4 lexemes by rests on one leg, 1 lexeme by using a bicycle, and 1 lexemes by using paddy instrument.  Keywords: Foot verbs, Sambas Dialect Malay Language

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the terminology of Dayak Benawan traditional medicational, to describe a lexical and cultural meaning, and to implement it in the learning activity. Dayak Benawan vernacular is one of several Dayak sub-tribe vernaculars that develop in Kabupaten Sanggau. The researcher interested to analyze Dayak Benawan’s vernacular which has a characteristic in the terminology of traditional medication, which was used the traditional medium. The purpose of this research was to conserve Dayak Benawan’s vernacular. This study was a quantitative research with descriptive method. The data were the words from respondents that related to medium in the procession which was clause and phrase used in Dayak Benawan traditional medication. Data collection techniques were used interviews, giving hints, one-to-one interviews, recording audio, and taking notes techniques, the instruments were used questionnaire, recording tool, and field notes. The result shows that there were 42 terminologies which clarified as clauses and phrases. In Dayak Benawan's traditional medicament, there were 25 data of medium terminology and 17 data of medication terminology. Keywords: Traditional Medication, Lexical Meaning, Cultural  Meaning, Procession.

Abstract

AbstractResearch on the terms of the Traditional Marriage of Dayak Taman Kapuas as a formof preservation in the importance of preserving the culture and traditions of theancestors. This research aims to describe terms, forms of lingual units and culturalmeanings in the traditional wedding of the Dayak Taman Kapuas in Ingko 'TambeVillage, Kapuas Hulu Regency. The method used in this type of qualitative researchincludes three methods, namely the method of observation, interviews, and descriptivemethods. The techniques of collecting data with fishing, skillful, note taking andtechnique of recording. Based on the research, it was found that the terms premaritalinclude mananya 'and paloa', as well as terms in the marriage procession or sule'which include sijaratan, pasidudukang, patindo', malalangi, malola ', marabut, sala'ason. Then the research also obtained lingual units in the form of words and phrasesand 14 cultural meanings contained in the terms used in the prenuptial procession tomarriage in the custom of the Taman Kapuas Dayak tribe.Keywords: Taman Kapuas Dayak Tribe, Terminology, Traditional Marriage

Abstract

AbstractThis study was backgrounded by the researcher’s interest in doing an observation on the role of the librarians in improving library service at the city library of Pontianak, This study was backgrounded by the researcher’s interest in doing an observation on the role of the librarians in improving library service at the city library of Pontianak, the researcher wants to know whether the librarian has played a role in improving existing service . This study aims to describe the roles and stages of librarians in improving their services. The study was carried out by applying the descriptive method using the qualitative approach, what efforts have been made by librarian to improve their sevices. The techniques data collection used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The librarian, staff, and visitors took part in the interviews. The findings show that the role of the librarians in conducting the services has been well-improved, observation is research looking directly to the location for obtaining information. However, the difficulties faced are the lack of library staff and the room that do not fully support library activities.Keyword: Role of Librarians, Library Service, Visitors

Abstract

AbstractSpatial planning in the library becomes an important part and can affect the performance of librarians and the comfort of visitors. This study discusses the spatial management and obstacles faced in the management of the SMKN 1 Pontianak library. This study aims to describe the management implemented by the school library and the obstacles faced by the librarians in managing the spatial of the library. The study was conducted using the qualitative method in the form of descriptive research. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. Four informants took part in the interviews. The findings show that the school library conducted spatial planning, which is still simple. There is no specific room for librarians to manage the book collection. The library has not implemented spatial management; Thus, it influenced the librarians’ activities and the visitors’ convenience. The difficulties faced in conducting spatial management were the human resources that lack knowledge in spatial management and the limited library area. Keywords: Management, Spatial, School Library

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII B di SMP Negeri 25 Pontianak dalam menulis teks laporan hasil observasi menggunakan model PjBL dan media virtual reality. Penelitian dilakukan melalui dua siklus, yaitu siklus I dan siklus II,  serta melalui empat tahap: perencanaan, implementasi, observasi, dan refleksi. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi, observasi, dan pengukuran. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pada setiap siklus. Pada siklus I, kemampuan guru dalam menyusun rencana (modul ajar) mendapat skor 81 (baik), sedangkan pada siklus II, mendapat skor 91.5 (sangat baik). Kemampuan guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran pada siklus I mendapatkan skor 70% (baik), siklus II mendapat skor 92% (sangat baik). Sementara itu, pencapaian belajar keseluruhan siswa pada siklus I adalah 74.25%, dan pada siklus II adalah 87.5%. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran dengan model PjBL dan media virtual reality dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis dan mengenalkan siswa dengan penggunaan teknologi untuk persiapan masa depan.Kata Kunci: Peningkatan Keterampilan, Menulis, PjBL, Virtual RealityABSTRACTThe Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the writing skills of eighth-grade students in SMP Negeri 25 Pontianak in writing observation report texts using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model and virtual reality media. The research was conducted through two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II, carried out in four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were obtained through documentation study, observation, and measurement. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed improvement in each cycle. In cycle I, the teacher's ability to prepare the lesson plan (teaching module) scored 81 (good), while in cycle II, it scored 91.5 (very good). The teacher's ability to implement learning in cycle I received a score of 70% (good), and in cycle II, it received a score of 92% (very good). Meanwhile, the overall student learning achievement in cycle I was 74.25%, and in cycle II, it was 87.5%. Thus, learning with the PjBL model and virtual reality media can enhance writing skills and introduce students to the use of technology for future preparation.Keywords: Learning Outcome, Writing, PjBL, Virtual Reality

Abstract

The basic literacy skills of Indonesian people are still very low compared to other countries in the world, which is a cause for concern in the world of education. The government, through the national school literacy movement, has tried hard to improve literacy skills for students, with various activities both local and national. Through formal and formal education services. The aim of this community service activity (PKM) is to strengthen literacy skills for students at the Punggur Smart Home, which is a non-formal education service, community learning activity center (PBKM) located in Punggur Kecil village, Sungai Kakap subdistrict, Kubu Raya regency. This PKM activity was attended by 25 PKBM students, using educational lecture methods and active literacy. The results of the activity evaluation showed the enthusiasm of PKBM students and their ability to respond to questions from the presenting team during the discussion activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan wujud HOTS pada aspek menganalisis, mengevaluasi, mencipta dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia untuk SMA/SMK Kelas X Kurikulum Merdeka. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan terdapat wujud menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta. Wujud analisis terdiri atas tiga bagian, yaitu; membedakan, mengorganisasi, dan mengatribusikan. Wujud mengevaluasi terdiri atas dua bagian, yaitu; memeriksa dan mengkritik. Wujud mencipta terdiri atas tiga bagian, yaitu; merumuskan, merencanakan, dan memproduksi.Kata Kunci: Soal HOTS, Buku Teks, Bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

Language that is in accordance with norms and culture to maintain social relations is an important key in communication. Language politeness is often found in daily activities, including in the school environment. Schools have a big role in shaping students' language impressions. The family and community of course also take part and work together in supporting the role of schools in creating children's personalities who are polite in speaking. This research focuses on analyzing language impressions in learning, especially in response text material at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. This research aims to find out and understand how compliance and violations of language politeness occur at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya, especially in responding discussions and creating response texts. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used is an observation technique adapted to the proficient free-involved listening technique (SBLC) and note-taking technique. Apart from that, recording techniques were also used in this research. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data transcription, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that student interactions include the six maxims proposed by Leech, both compliance and deviation from the principles of language politeness.
